I must admit, I usually find the idea DIY really interesting in the designing stage, but am bored to tears by the pernickety buying aspect: screws, attachment bits, different shades of paint Somehow, though, Wickes isn't too unbearable. It's good value but pretty good quality, and they do good packages where you can buy everything you need to do a certain thing. They have some bigger sets, like bathroom suites, and everything from tiny screws and paintbrushes to patios, doors, flooring and guttering. Like I said, it's not all interesting! I've never bought anything very dramatic from there, but it definitely seems worth waiting for things to be on offer, as they can do up to 50% off on lots of expensive things like tiling, conservatories and kitchen cabinets. Their delivery is pretty cheap too - I think it's sometimes free if you spend over £45, which you usually do for something that's big enough to need delivering. If that's not still the case in store, then choose it in the shop and buy it online! read more
