It seems to have a little bit of everything and to top it all it is a family run business that has been there for years and years. I was very surprised the first time that I shopped there because I assumed that it would be a bit more expensive than the likes of B&Q. This was not the case; for many items they are cheaper. What keeps me loyal to this shop is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. They give good advice and do not automatically steer customers to the most expensive options. This shop is off the beaten path but well worth a visit, especially during spring and autumn when they stock a lot of plants. It was a year before I ever entered this store after relocating to East Oxford; now I wish I hadn't waited that long - this place is a gem.

Well frequented by tradesmen who know exactly what they're after, it can be a little intimidating, but the service for the uninitiated is friendly and helpful. It doesn't look like much from Cowley Road but when you go in, there is a full-blown timber merchant with a large shop selling tools, ironmongery etc. They have a full wood machining workshop so can cut and plane to size and the prices are really good. The service is excellent too, this palce must be run very well. Don't go to a chain, this place is well worth checking out.

It's on a…read moresmall retail park with Curry's and Carpet Right. it stocks the usual range of things - diy, bathroom fittings, with a small display area for baths, toilets, suites etc. There is an outside garden area which always seems to be well-stocked. There are seasonal displays in the centre of the store, eg christmas things, outdoor furniture, sale items. This area often seems a bit tacky to me, a heap of stuff jumbled together. Prices always seem high compared to B & Q or Wilkinsons, even for the same things, eg Dulux paint. I find it a useful place to browse, but rarely buy anything there. Homebase often have special offers of 15% off for the weekend, which make it a bit more competitive price-wise.
