Came in on a Wednesday 5:40pm and I could tell this place was good because of how busy it was. We got the outside table as the weather was nice. Ordered Smokenouse platters Sliced Brisket with two sides $18.99. Sliced brisket was huge! Very tender and tasty with many sauces to choose from. I liked the ketchup based brown sauce, I believe it's the normal BBQ sauce. Fries were delicious and crunchy on the outside! A little bit like Checker's fries. Coleslaw was okay, but mashed potatoes were good according to my colleague. Good and fast service, nice ambiance and quality brisket with good portion! Recommended!

Appalachian Farms was amazing. They catered to our every need and had suggestions for anything they…read morecould provide to us. Sarah Claire, the owner, was very attentive and had such a positive attitude. Lots of venues will charge you left and right for the use of their decorations or whatnot, but the Farm has a rule, that it the decoration was donated from a previous wedding, then you can use it at not charge! The Farm recommended our coordinator, Penny, who was fabulous! We couldn't have done it without her. Although she is a "day of" coordinator, she contacted us in the weeks before the wedding to make sure she had all the information as well as understanding EXACTLY what we wanted. I would highly recommend Penny. Jennifer was so, so great! She made our vision come to life with her decorating talents. She listened to exactly what we were looking for, and made the decorations happen. We had the most beautiful wedding thanks to her. We also used the Farm as our caterer. Victor, the cook, makes the most AMAZING pulled pork and bbq chicken and smoked Gouda mac n cheese. We are still getting compliments about the food. The venue itself is so unbelievably unique and beautiful. You absolutely cannot beat the location and the barn itself. You wont find anything like it. I would definitely consider this for your future wedding! You won't be disappointed!!

We stopped for lunch while vacationing near Waynesville. I was bummed they were out of the lunch special (the brisket tacos), so I opted for the bbq chicken quesadilla with a side of slaw. My husband got the Matt's Special with potato salad. His sandwich was good, but could've used a bit more meat, but seemed right for the price. My quesadilla came out hot and flavorful and was perfectly filling. Super bummed about the slaw though - it was really lacking. Needs vinegar and salt (in my opinion). It tasted like shredded cabbage mixed with a little bit of mayo and cilantro and that's it. We both got a can of the June Shine hard kombucha. Tasted like kombucha and was a cool color. I also got a lemon bar and that was good. The crust was thick and the bar was a decent size, and not overly sweet or too sour. The perfect lemon bar! Overall a good experience at a nice price point for lunch.

We requested a full vegan menu with 4 courses and passed appetizers during cocktail hour for 30 people. And wow did they deliver! I am having guests ask me for their recipes and some saying they would consider going vegan if all their meals tasted like this. Our main goal was to serve vegan food to meat eaters and have them not miss the meat. My husband and I could not be more pleased with the way the food turned out. It was a complete success. The service is unmatched. Judy took care of everything and helped with the details that I never would've thought of. I've never planned a wedding before, so it was SO helpful to have her ask more questions ahead of time in order to make sure everything went smoothly. I loved her communication, cheerfulness, and genuine love for what she does. Their serving staff was friendly, helpful, and had a sense of urgency when they were asked for anything.
