This is such a cute little venue! I attended a Yelp Elite…read moreparty here a week back and had an excellent time. I never knew this event space even existed! I was told that renting it out on a weekday is super reasonable- only $65 an hour. You can't beat that! I love hosting large parties at my home, but I can never fit the amount of guests that I want in my tiny little home. Anyway, the venue was set up in a beautiful way- full of antique and vintage furniture items. They have restrooms, but I'm not sure if they have a kitchen. I've been told that they will set up the room however you'd like it. When I was there, they had out three very long tables and I think there were about 50 of us. They have a few parking spaces but I was able to park in the alley to the right of the building. Not sure if that's allowed. I will DEFINITELY be planning my next big event here! What a fun place!

East West is a gorgeously decorated venue space in West Asheville on Haywood Rd. This space can be…read morerented out hourly and has a capacity of 50. I have been here many times-mostly for pop up craft/art shows, once for a 20's themed birthday party and most importantly, for my own wedding rehearsal dinner. Renting the space for the rehearsal dinner was easy and the owners were super helpful and accommodating. Their contract is very clear and their prices are very, very reasonable! We had 50 people total for the event and when we arrived the night of the party, they had the space set up for us with their dining tables and lovely chairs arranged as well as a serving station and bar area. Their furniture is what makes this place so incredible really-they have absolutely beautiful mismatched furniture, vintage and rustic looking. This is the type of space that you see all over Pinterest. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a small event venue for a wedding or birthday party. I wish I had better photos to add to Yelp because it really is an absolutely gorgeous space!

I had no idea this place was going to be as cool as it was, on the inside. The usual irony with…read moreFreemasonry is that these devotees of sacred architecture and geometry meet so often in shabby anonymous buildings with plate glass windows and acoustic ceiling tiles. No such irony here, friends. This particular Masonic Temple is a glorious celebration of detail and craftsmanship. Even the fuse box is beautiful, sitting in plain sight in a glass box in the stairwell, like a lost Joseph Cornell piece. Each doorknob is emblazoned with symbolism in bas relief. The ceiling is expansive, with groined arches recalling classic cathedrals. The original elevator is working, although I think most Americans don't know how to use old-style elevators anymore. The staircase is wide, and recalls the "I don't give a damn" set from Gone With the Wind. The real treasure is the 3rd floor theater. A round, domed room with a curving balcony, painted in dusky pink, chalk blue, and gilt. The acoustics are great, considering the age of the building. The star of the theater is the gorgeous backdrops. So ridiculously gorgeous, they risk upstaging whomever's performing. I've heard folklore (unsubstantiated, but believable) that these backdrops, themselves, are worth millions of dollars on today's market. Layer upon layer of hand-cut, hand-painted detail, that catches the light in amazing, dramatic ways. If you've ever been to the cyclorama in Atlanta, you might recognize a similar style, although the subject matter here isn't military stuff--it's romantic, pastoral, mystical. If you ever get a chance to go to anything at the Masonic Temple, go. Just go. Drop everything and go. Find a babysitter. Cancel your appointments. Go. Especially if you know the event will take place on the 3rd floor. You will be mindblown with awesomeness.

I'm from Atlanta and hunted high and low for a good florist in Asheville. We're having multiple…read moreevents for a large family spread over many states for our wedding - so each event is on a super tight budget. I needed a bouquet, a few corsages, and a boutonniere for our little event in Asheville and had a very specific style and color scheme in mind. What blew me away was how much just a few flowers for a small event can cost! Woah! And the customer service of some of these places in Asheville that get a lot of high season business is absolutely deplorable! Well I immediately felt comfortable when I met Luck over the phone, and was very happy with the prices we agreed upon. It's difficult to be out of town because poor Luck was riding a bit blind by only going off of a handful of pictures I'd lobbed over email and I didn't have the ability to come and point out the flowers I liked. So on the big day - my Stepmom came to pick the flowers up and sent me pictures. Luck had perfectly combined all of the pictures I'd sent! I'm the pickiest of the picky and I did have some feedback - to which Luck graciously obliged. Everyone gushed over my bouquet and it was absolutely perfect. I loved it. Thank you Luck for everything!!!

(I soooo dislike the chains) Yelp reviews lead me to Flower Gallery and I couldn't be happier! The flowers I ordered arrived on time and the patient was beyond thrilled. She cried happy tears and said "thank you" a 100 times. Apparently the hospital staff was also so impressed and the therapist said that they were the BEST flowers in the hospital...even better than their banquet flowers. (sounds like the hospital needs a new florist!) Thank you so much for making my loved one smile!

They made the entire wedding planning process so easy and stress-free, and we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. The kind of expertise, attention to detail, and thoughtfulness they exude is rare; you don't see this at many wedding venues. Jen is WONDERFUL: passionate, creative, incredibly responsive, and genuinely invested in making your wedding everything you've dreamed of. Kimberly, our day-of coordinator, was also 10/10 FANTASTIC. She went above and beyond for us and made sure every detail was taken care of so we could actually relax and enjoy our day. Honestly, the entire staff is so friendly and clearly cares a lot about this business. My family couldn't stop talking about how wonderful everyone was! And speaking of the big day... it was perfect. We owe so much of that to the Haiku team and their ability to bring our vision and dreams to life. Every single vendor we worked with also commented on how incredible Haiku is to work with, which says so much about the kind of team they are. I seriously cannot recommend this venue enough. If y'all are considering Haiku, stop looking and book it. You will be in the best hands! I promise.

The staff was really not great and even caused us some confusion and problems on our wedding day. There was miscommunication for our decorations, specialty drinks which we chose, and timeline. We were told that we could drop our decorations off earlier in the morning on our day but were then met with resistance when we came by. We were told that items could not arrive until the afternoon and could only be outside. We chose two specialty drinks which we wanted to have different names. Neither one was served. Instead, they served two random cocktails and didn't even use the names and sign we had given them. The timeline was also then mixed up where we were told we had until 10pm. Then at 9pm they started rushing all of our guests out of the venue and telling everyone they needed to leave. Party guests were confused and upset as we all thought we still had a half hour before the grand exit. Overall, fairly disappointed in how the venue served us day of. We were working with two different people, so that may be why there was confusion. But it seriously impacted our wedding day.

I'm happy to oblige, lol. So, after an hour in the Asheville Salt Cave, we walked over here to try this ice cream. Two staff inside working, it was incredibly hot inside, were happy to answer questions and greeted us warmly. They had a nice selection of flavors on the wall and a few specialty flavors. My friends went with a salted caramel vanilla and a peanut chocolate flavor. Both were OK but mine was the star of the show for me. I chose the Vanilla Oreo Cream which was this delicious creamy vanilla mixture with huge chunks of Oreo cookies. It was smooth, it was sweet, it was delicious. As a cookies and cream fan, this was top notch. They sell lactaid pills here if you need them, to assist with stomach discomfort from dairy. Smooth and creamy ice creams here with a range of delicious flavors. If we'd had time, we would've stopped in every single day!
