The "technician" Matthew did not have my correct address the morning of our appointment. He stated his company "does not allow them to have the customer's address and gives them just gps coordinates" He was late about 3 hours. He shows up in his personal vehicle , no company vehicle. He does not carry any parts on his truck. So he came to my house just to guess on what part was not working and ordered something off of Amazon. No diagnostic tools , no F codes , just mumbo gumbo about how he has so much experience on washers and it could be two things. My drain pump or my lid lock sensor. I had mentioned to him earlier that , I had checked the drain pump for a clog and it was clear. He misheard me or thought I said I replaced it. I didn't replace it. I just checked if it was clogged. He tells us , he'll order the lid sensor and will come back the next day. The next day , I text him. Hey what's your eta? No answer. No text. Just silence. I call the company. Calls me back and tells me the part is not here yet and he'll be there later in the afternoon. I told him just to come by the next morning. Strange an appliance repair company doesn't carry parts. They order them on Amazon. Wow, okay. This morning. Comes to my house , switches the lid lock sensor. Realizes its not the lid lock sensor and tells my wife, " Hey bro , I think its the drain pump so I'll have to come back another day , so I'll have to charge you another trip charge and if its not the drain pump , it might be the control board" Wife says he called her bro like 7-8 times while explaining the extra charges. She texts me to call him. I called him to question why we are getting charged again if I already had a quote on the repair. Seems like charging me for extra trips to get Amazon parts is not a smart business decision. I asked him why did he not check if it was the drain pump first. He said he didn't because I had already replaced it once. I never said that. I checked if it was clogged. I told him just to leave. We'll sort if out with a real appliance repair company. He then tells me he is sick of f**king people like me and that this always happens to him. Then hangs up. Then he proceeds to text me 14 times on how much he was saving us with prices of different drain pumps and that he is exhausted from difficult customers. What a nut job. What a terrible company. The way he speaks about his superiors and the company itself should be a sign of what inept people hired him in the first place. Cussing to customers and complaining to them is such a red flag. Please save yourself some trouble and go with a reputable appliance repair. Hope this review helps you.

He is currently working out of a flea market building off Eisenhauer Road. To get to him, you need to go around to the back of the building and go up the stairs where you see the Dyson sign, he is just inside the door and to the left. His space is pretty cramped, but it is clear he is still doing a brisk business. He also fixes and sells sewing machines and lamps in addition to all types of vacuums. Anyway, we have a Dyson V10 that wasn't working so we took it to Richard. He diagnoses for free! The vacuum needed a full service/cleaning (not surprising after 5 years of use) as well as a new circuit board. The total charge before tax was around $128, which is a lot less than buying a new vacuum! The vacuum came back to us looking like new and works properly again. I am only giving 4 stars because something with how the canister was reattached isn't quite right, and it is difficult to push the lever to empty it after vacuuming. We may have to take it back to Richard to have him adjust that. Also, be aware that as of right now he is cash or Venmo only! I told him about Square and how he can start accepting credit cards and he seemed interested in that concept, but best to assume he doesn't take credit cards unless this page gets updated later.

We decided to use Lowe's for fencing. The company's installers were mediocre at best. Well, when it came to having Lowe's honor the one-year warranty, they kept postponing the fence assessment. Even though I submitted my warranty claim within the one year, I was told I waited too long and that the fence was not sealed, which it was. The wood was split at the screws. Some boards were chipped. Yes, maybe I should have reported it sooner, but I was still under warranty. Disappointed. Lowes has done our kitchen and bathroom remodels (thousands of dollars later). We will not purchase large ticket items from Lowe's going forward. Home Depot does a better job at fence installs, and they honor their warranty.

The clerk on duty, Joanie, in this particular appliance area didn't have any indepth knowledge of the particulars. If you want installation then, by default, a number of items will be included for the installation. One of them is the power cord for the dryer. A power cord for the dryer is never included with a purchase because there are 3 different types of outlets possible. By default, my purchase with installation included a 4 prong. My apartment is 45 years old and requires a 3 prong. The clerk was telling me that if I didn't go with the 4 prong I wouldn't get the installation. I told her that I needed a 3 prong. She looked over at what they sold and we found the one that I needed. She then told me she "declined" the 4 prong and told me she added the 3 prong. Low and behold, when I got home, I saw that the 4 prong was still on the list for the installation. I went to another Lowes and purchased the correct 3 prong wire and I will be taking the 4 prong wire back for a refund when I get it delivered with the washer/dryer.

The ice maker on my KitchenAid refrigerator stopped working, so I gave Hugo Ortega a call. I was…read moreasked to send photos of the refrigerator model number, the face of the fridge, and of the ice maker itself. The text I received indicated that yes, Mr. Ortega does work on that unit, and a service call was scheduled two days hence. As it turns out, Hugo Ortega did not appear for the service call, but rather his son Tim. It seems that the father, Hugo, tends to work primarily on washer/dryer, and Tim deals with refrigerators and dishwashers. (They are both able to work on any of the appliances, but they have their particular interests, according to Tim). Personable and polite, Tim went through his diagnostics, explaining as he proceeded, and determined that the problem was the ice maker's motor. And.. he has a Kitchenaid ice maker on his truck. But here is where it gets a bit interesting. It seems that the icemakers on this brand can be different: some sit on the side of the freezer, some sit in the center of the freezer...and one is not an exact "bolt In" for the other. He stocked the side fitting unit, and I have the centrally sitting unit. So what Tim did was dismantle his unit, and used the parts to fit on the chassis of my unit. As he nimbly disassembled and reassembled the units, I was reminded of a scene in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", in which Tuco takes apart several revolvers, and knew which parts would fit the chassis of his new revolver. WOW. DOUBLE WOW! With the unit now working as new...which essentially it was...I realized this young man definitely knows his refrigerators!! But the story gets better. I asked if he works on Jennair Downdraft glass stove tops, as one of my burners was not working. He doesn't really service these units, but he went through an online parts manual, and given the symptoms I described, he told of three possible defects...and he listed the parts numbers and the suggested prices for the parts. I was pretty impressed with his efforts for an appliance he doesn't work on! So can I recommend the Ortegas for appliance repair? Definitely! They are my "go to" repairmen now!! Good Luck Yelpers
