I want to leave a fair and honest review because not every part of this experience was bad, but overall it was extremely frustrating and stressful. The biggest issue was communication and customer service from A Appliances themselves. The installation process took about a week because of multiple delays, wrong parts, last-minute rescheduling, and poor coordination. The washer also did not work properly immediately after installation due to an installation issue involving the water valve/setup. Thankfully, the technicians later corrected the problem and the unit is now functioning properly. To be fair, the third-party installers eventually became very cooperative and professional once we were all able to calmly communicate and troubleshoot the issue together. I appreciated their understanding and calm communication throughout the process. However, my interactions with A Appliances over the phone were a completely different experience. The communication was unnecessarily confrontational and rude, even while I was actively trying to resolve payment and get everything handled professionally. At one point, while the appliance was still not functioning correctly and before the installation issues had been resolved, I was repeatedly pressured for payment and was told that the warranty could be revoked if payment was not made immediately. That was extremely concerning considering the washer was not even operating properly yet. There was also confusion regarding my previous stackable unit, which was initially left blocking the driveway instead of being placed properly in the garage as discussed beforehand. In the end, the appliance is working and the situation was eventually resolved, which is why I'm not leaving a 1-star review. But the overall process, communication, and customer service experience with the company itself definitely need improvement. read more

I have a mixed review. I bought our LG refrigerator from A Plus Appliance in June of 2025 because ours broke down. I walked in, and I had options. I picked one LG refrigerator I liked. I paid, however, they said they had to finish repairs on the one I picked. I needed a refrigerator ASAP. I paid for a loaner until mine was ready. They wanted to make sure it was working properly. They delivered the loaner and took away my old broken frig. The loaner had a leak. They came to repair the loaner. Finally, a week later my "new" frig was ready. They removed the loaner and installed my "new" frig. Everything was working fine until 1 year and two months later our "new" refrigerator stopped making ice and was not cooling. I called them and paid ($45) for a diagnosis. They said it would cost $600 to repair and recommend I buy a new refrigerator. I asked about my warranty, they would not honor it since it was past 2 months. The compressor was no good, which btw, they installed and was not an LG compressor. Beware! They buy scratch and dent in need of repair appliances and do their own modification, and not according to manufacturers specifications. They also do not use genuine parts, as I found out later. They will pull from other units to "repair". This may or may not come up with your home warranty company. read more

Is a hit and miss. Bought used washer and dryer set for $600. The dryer in 3 months didn't work anymore.

I purchased a washer and dryer from them on 3/7 weeks ago and the day I was supposed to have them delivered I was told the washer didn't work properly. I asked for a refund from the manager and she agreed to refund me. It's now 3/29 and still no refund. I waited this long because there is a delay in refunds but it's been long enough and I cannot contact them because no one will answer the phone. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Decent appliances but not the best service. They are more attentive in shop of course when you're looking to buy. We got a washer and dryer. They delivered and everything was fine. They give you a 60 day warranty on parts and service. It just gets tough to get in touch with them when you need service. They were not very friendly in trying to get someone to come out and look at it. read more

I have purchased appliances from the store before and even recommended them. However, things changed recently had to go through two months of fighting with the company about a nonworking dishwasher they sent their technician out who I had on recording, stating there was a problem and apparently went back to management and told them there was no issue and finally after two months they deliver a replace dishwasher comes into my home top basket rusted no bottom basket and a third dishwasher again this is after over two months and having to clean up every time they come. A stove was also purchased from them delivered with bugs and then come to find out the stove that was purchased from them. Also did not function properly had another technician come out since I didn't trust them anymore. The bottom element was totally rotted through. read more

Bought a used refrigerator for my garage there and took it home. Didn't cool to temp in fridge or freezer. Took it back and they would not refund money. Said owner would call me within two days. Nothing! Said they would fix it. Been over a week and nothing. Total rip off!!! Don't go there! Wish I didn't have to give even one star. read more

Purchased a new washer and used dryer February 2023. Fast forward to now Sept 2023 and my used dryer has stopped working. Called them and they stated that the warranty for used items was only 60 days for parts and 1 yr for labor. I decided to use a reliable company who came out to give me their opinion and upon opening up my used dryer they noticed that it was not cleaned at all to begin with. (Picture 1) They also told me that because it was not cleaned before being sold it did catch on fire. They went ahead and cleaned it and replaced it with new Samsung parts. (Picture 2) Use caution when purchasing used appliances from this company. Ask the questions and ask for proof. read more

We bought a refrigerator last year for around $1,000. Four service calls later over the last year the problems have still not been resolved so my wife went back to them. We end up adding another $600 plus to get a new refrigerator. Less than a month we have no ice and now the refrigerator will not get colder than 45°. The clerk at the Randolph boulevard location gave my wife a hard time about swapping out refrigerators we've had it less than a month and had never had it working properly as was the first one. read more

My wife brought our washer and dryer from here a month or so ago and she's had nothing but problems. The dryer stopped producing hot air multiple times. The repair man came out to fix it and we had the same issue a few weeks later. Now they're are blushing the issue on our home. We've cleaned out all the vents and still not working. Last the this happened the man took the whole machine apart and fixed the issue but NOW it's the houses fault. Spend a little extra money and buy a new washer and dryer before coming here. read more

TL;DR: If You're going to buy used appliances, you'll be in great hands here, but you still have to have realistic expectations. The good: I bought a refrigerator in April 2022 from them which includes a one year warranty. On the very last day of my warranty, the fridge stopped cooling, and it happened on a weekend. When I called the shop the next business day, they said they'd honor the warranty. In the end, they ended up giving me a replacement fridge that's equivalent in specs and price. Ultimately, I'm grateful to the manager who worked with me, because our family cannot afford a new fridge right now. We've had the replacement for a couple of weeks, and I'm cautiously optimistic that it seems to be functional. We hope it will last a good amount of time... fingers crossed. Most of the people who work there are really nice, including the service technicians. The rest: I'm a type A personality, and I found communication with them to often be lacking, but it may not bother other people. I had to reach out a lot to get updates. I think the reason is they're a small business with a lot of customers, so maybe the staff is just very busy. The tech they sent out the first several times was also a bit rude and didn't seem to know what was going on. Be aware that the delivery guys they use for your appliance setup may leave a few loose ends for you to figure out, along with a mess for you to clean up. They also took a lot longer than I expected to complete troubleshooting with our original fridge... it was a month and a half, but they did give us a loaner fridge in the meantime. I think it's a family owned business, so my assumption is there's a smaller crew working on everything at once, and that's why there can be delays. All in all, they will get you taken care of. Even if there's a problem, I found them to be perfectly reasonable in finding a resolution, even if it wasn't on my preferred timeline. They solved what would've otherwise been a major issue for us, so I don't mind being extra patient in that scenario. I think they're genuinely good people. I wanted to make this an honest review with transparency on all aspects of my experience, but overall I'd definitely recommend them for used appliances. Thanks again! read more

I rarely write reviews, and to be upfront used this place multiple times for work and personal, even recommend this place. However after today not again. Manager is unable to communicate with staff or with costumer. Set a deliver schedule she new she wasnt able to meet. Rescheduled and still was unable to meet that. I returned appliances and now they are holding my money for 10 to 12 days. I will attempt to speak with her later today to ensure I get my money back sooner. This sounds like the owner needs to step into his buisness and figure out what the hell is going on. read more

Just bought a washer and dryer set 2 days ago and the washer isn't spinning, I actually got suckered into getting the extension for warranty an extra $100 and at that I give them a call for repair and they won't come out for two days, imagine the inconvince of buying a set and not being able to use it. Just horrible! I don't recommend. hopefully this saves someone else from the trouble read more

I bought a whole house set here once. A while back. A washer, dryer and an upright freezer. Paid over $750 for all. They arrived and looked nice. That was about all they did was look nice. The dryer never worked. It failed the test by the delivery people. As well as the freezer. It never got cold enough to actually freeze anything. I was told at delivery that they'd send a repair person out. So when I was finally getting my appliances which my family needed and I paid for, I now had to wait longer. I waited, then a repair man came out. No change. He couldn't fix it and came back another day to try again. He then took my two appliances that didn't work at all with him. Saying the owner was going to see to it personally. However that never happened. My appliances or pieces of metal that didn't work went back with repair man. I'm that moment I was ROBBED! I LOST my money and my worthless metal. GONE. I Tried to call at least once a week for more than a month. And nothing. It was being worked on! How long was I expected to wait. I ended up buying a new set. Losing my money in the old. Never hearing back from this place again. My experience was: -worthless junk that never worked. -nonexistent follow up on anything. -BEING ROBBED. Essentially I had no appliances and no money. Hopefully your experience is different from mine. I do not recommend this place. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. Had a washer delivered Wednesday, it leaked the first use. They sent out a repair man, it's still leaking. Update- Hired an outside company to come fix it as A+ Appliance does not care, and cost $375 to get the machine in working order. Interesting enough repairman easily found and fixed the problem, don't know how the 'repair' people with A+ missed it with 'testing' before delivering, upon setting it up, and when they came out to 'fix' it. read more

So far the whole experience has been a nightmare. Went into the store, and picked a refrigerator. Was told that it would have next-day delivery and all its shelves and an ice maker would be in the unit. The fridge arrived a week later with doors opening on the wrong side, no ice maker, and no basket. It is also worth mentioning that the unit was WAY more beat up than the one in the store. Fast forward 3 weeks and the fridge and freezer are not cooling! Called for service on Wednesday, and they came on Friday at 7 pm, the guy looked at it and said that it may need freon, and then he left. Didn't repair it. Now I'm waiting for a callback, meanwhile, my elderly tenants are losing all their food in the fridge and freezer. read more

I have purchased several appliances (stoves, driers, washing machines, dishwashers) from A Plus over the years and I always find them helpful. They respond promptly to any follow-up issues and even when I had an unrelated need such as a hard to find right sized screw for one I lost when switching a dryer from a 4 to a 3 prong power cord when moving it to another family member (long after I had purchased the dryer), they were happy to take the time to find and give me the right size screw when I couldn't find what I needed at local stores. read more

Do NOT buy from here! We bought a washer, dryer, & refrigerator in January 2016 because we had just bought a house in the neighborhood. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is because the washer and dryer have been excellent! The refrigerator, on the other hand, has been a nightmare that we thoroughly regret buying. It looks good even though it has a couple minor dents and scratches, but it has the following issues: * Water dispensed is never cold and (I think) it leaks into freezer -- we constantly have ice build-up in freezer. * The ice maker never made ice. We finally just disconnected the water line from fridge since we weren't getting cold water or ice anyway. * No matter what the temp is set on, the refrigerator area always borders on freezing our items and the freezer is excessively freezing. * The unit didn't have a freezer basket for the drawer but were promised to have it when delivered 2 weeks later -- it took months and REPEATED calls on our part to finally get the drawer. * Although nothing seems to be clogging vents when we pull it out, every other month, the temps start fluctuating and the machine starts rattling. We HATE this expensive malfunctioning refrigerator/freezer! When we can afford it, we are going elsewhere and buying a reliable unit. We will chalk up this loss to "Lesson Learned." * A LOT OF PASSING THE RESPONSIBILITY HAPPENS AT THIS PLACE!! Promises are made in order to sell units but customers have to hold their feet to the fire in order to get most of what was promised. Communications was poor, very poor between customer and said staff. The process to fix my refrigerator was worst. After agreeing to set time and date it was a no go. 3 days to get my frig fix after they got the part. And then the guy gets here with out the part, he then runs back to get it. The excuse we been very busy does not cut it. That is a leadership issue, never again, shop around folks read more

Just save yourself the hassle and don't even bother with these guys. My husband was trying to be nice and surprise me with a (new to us) stove and refrigerator in March. He went here and picked them out and was told that they would be delivered two weeks later, while I was out of town as a surprise. We didn't get our appliances until JULY. Yes, July. There kept being reasons for why the refrigerator wasn't ready. No one would call us for weeks and we would call them and then they would pass the blame and say so and so was suppose to call us. This went on for months obviously. We finally got our appliances 4 months later, even though it's a different fridge than my husband originally picked out. We asked to have our delivery charged waived for the hassle and yet were still asked about it upon delivery. Not to mention we had to reschedule the delivery TWICE since they didn't deliver within the time frame we were told and we had to work. Not to mention, the stove was pretty dirty when delivered and I had to clean it. Just don't do it. After everything we dealt with I would've rather just got new appliances at a higher price. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. read more

I was looking for a place to sell my used refrigerator and dryer as per their ad on the Internet that is the service that they provided. I REALLY wish I would have read the reviews on this place before buying here but moving and in a hurry to get a washer and dryer, I went against my better judgment and bought here. Washer doesn't work. It did one cycle of laundry just fine and the 2nd day I had it it stopped working, it doesn't drain the water, it didn't spin my clothes so I had to hand wring them out and throw them in the dryer! I called and complained about it, seeing as I was only 2 days into the warranty, they said they would send a tech to fix it between 5:30-7. The guy showed up at 8:42. I didn't even want to open the door because I didn't know who it was. I let him in, he was on my patio for 10 minutes trying to fix the washer, and then decided that it was the motherboard and he had to take it in. He brings back the washer the next day around 8pm once again. I try another load of clothes. It turns on gets halfway through the cycle and shuts off. So here I am ONCE AGAIN, hand wringing out my clothes for the second time this happened late on a Saturday night. I called the following Monday and Ralph or Randy, whatever his name is told me that a tech would be out on Tuesday at 5:30.....NO ONE SHOWS UP. I call Wednesday morning around 9am asking him about why the tech didn't come out yesterday, and he said that he thinks the tech deleted my route. I don't understand how because "randy" took my information down. So then he told me the lady that I purchased the washer with would be in later and he was going to talk to her about replacing it. He calls me back and 10:45 to ask me when I purchased the washer, I tell him the 24th. I think he was only asking because he wanted to see if that warranty was over or not... NOPE, still have that 5 day old warranty sir! So he said ok he was just waiting for the lady to come into work....6 hours go by and I don't get a phone call, she must be the WORST employee ever to show up 6hours late for work! so I called and gave him my information once again, he acted like he didn't even know who I was and we have spoken 4 times since I bought the washer in the last 5 days!! and he says "oh I have you down for tomorrow between 3-5pm" I asked if he was going to even call me and let me know that he put me down for that time and of course he says yes, but I don't know how that could be unless he was calling the day of to let me know, which is unacceptable because there is no way to know if I would even be available at that time. So now I am sitting here waiting on tomorrow, keep in mind that there is 4 day old water still sitting in the washer... it STINKS! I'm just so annoyed by the whole process. Do yourself a favor and save up for a brand new washer and dryer, or any other appliance for that matter! I either want my stuff replaced or I want my money back, of course I would get my money because "all sales are final" What a scam! I am editing this review and adding 2 stars only because the technician Pepe is awesome, working late to fix my washer. It is fixed and running, not sure for how long. Hopefully for at least a year or 2. read more

I rarely write bad reviews.PLEASE read the reviews BC this place will only cause you a hassle. Was told all refrigerators on the floor were already inspected by technician and ready to purchase. Came in the next day and paid for one but then was told it will be a week to be inspected. A week went by, did not receive the call I was promised. I Called them and they said they'd call me right back...No Call Back. Then the next day I came into the store to see if my fridge was ready. No it was not. I was asked to wait 3more days and that the tech would work on it ASAP. Gave them 7 days to call...No Call. So I called them and was asked to wait 2-3more days and the tech would work on it ASAP. I said no thanks if we cannot pick up today I would like a refund. Guess refund is out of the Question. So I was offered another fridge that was already inspected and ready. At this point I just wanted to be done with this situation. So I took the offer and Brought it home, plugged it in. My husband had to fix a few things. But the water spout leaked out of the bottom all over the floor whenever u pushed the water. My husband tried to fix this and realized there was Corrosion. We called them and ask them if we can get somebody to fix this for us...we live literally down the block. And they said it'll be about a week. I am very patient and kind, but don't waste your time!!!! When I was in the store at one point, there was an employee on the phone talking really nasty to a customer, so If u have problems and show frustration...expect that type of customer service. But if ur sweet and Patient as I was, they will just keep giving u the go around. AGAIN THEY WILL NOT EVEN CONSIDER A REFUND... even if they still have the appliance at their store. read more

We bought a washer a dryer set here. Not a day after having them, the dryer went out. They sent someone to repair the dryer, but they couldn't do it in my home so they took it back to the store and brought me a different one. Fast forward two weeks. Would not recommend this business to anyone looking for an appliance. I purchased a fridge/dryer combo from A Plus Appliance, in summary the issues have been: - damaged appliance (dryer would not shut off or heat the day we brought it home) - not repairing the issue (have had SEVERAL service appointments for the same issue) - manager not ordering parts or not receiving them after 5 months still supposedly waiting for a fridge cover for the ice dispenser - did not show up for a repair appointment (called a second time and again did not show up) - said fridge was not level in store due to the way it was sitting on their shop ground and promised it would sit level once it was on level ground...nope If you are looking for a used appliance, I would suggest another business. What you pay for their products is a rip off because of the quality. read more

After a long battle with my dryer, I finally succeeded in getting it to work and heat properly... only to blow the thermal fuse because I hadn't positioned the drum properly, causing it to overheat. I fixed the drum position, but had no fuse to replace the blown one. I called every appliance parts store in San Antonio, searching for the one thing that stood between me and victory over an appliance, but to no avail. Most of the places were rude, many kept me on hold in excess of 10 minutes, and the two that did have it were charging 4x what the part cost. I called A+ Appliance, and Randy was so nice, and genuinely helpful! He promised to check on the part and call me back. Much to my surprise, he actually did! He called a couple minutes later and now I'm the proud owner of the reasonably priced fuse, and my dryer is working perfectly! read more

Ethically questionable warranty repair service. All their appliances come with a one year warranty, which is why I bought here. Not the the sign outside mentions it, but the warranty only covers labor (no parts). Fair enough so far. I called to schedule service, and a tech (Juan) was there the next day. All I needed was a thermal fuse (whew!). Juan repairs the machine, and then hands me a bill for $40. That seemed a little steep. When questioned, Juan tells me "it's the price they charge." I pay him and send him on his way. I found the same part online for $4.49 shipped, or $8.94 for a genuine Whirlpool replacement. I call the store, they direct me to their supplier's website. It's $15 on that website. I would suspect they chose their supplier based on their high prices to the public and high discounts to stores such as A+ Appliance. The A+ representative tells me I can drive to the store to pick up the $25 I was overcharged. A+? Talk about grade inflation! read more
