So, said a prayer and asked the Lord to guide me. I was lead to Prostar Appliance Repair. I got same day repair with Aleksander. I am amazed with how polite, courteous and professional he was. Simply amazing work.

They responded to my text amazingly fast. I texted them early Sunday morning around 7 AM. Told me someone would be coming by 11-1 PM. I thought that was awesome. BTW not a fan of AI, but their AI call center is amazing. 1 PM (name withheld) shows up with his tool bag and walks in. He seemed to be in a hurry on the way in and on the way out. He pulls the refrigerator off the wall, does (something?) Pushes it back and tells me "my compressor is dead". He sends me an estimate for $1046.78. I place $100 cash down to get repairs booked so I now owe $946.78 on a "dead compressor" repair. He then scoots out the door after maybe 15 minutes. Knowing a compressor failure is a costly failure, it caused us quite a bit of stress. I decided, against the advice of my wife, to still give ProStar a try. She was ready to cancel repairs and buy a new costly refrigerator which I talked her out of because I know almost all brands are garbage except for Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid. Here comes Shawn on Tuesday. Super guy, diagnosed the problem correctly with pictures for me, got to the part that was actually malfunctioning (freezer fan assembly with faulty sensor causing a big block of ice over it) and got it back up running for way less than "a dead compressor" like "expert" (name withheld) said. $481 bill plus my $100 deposit. I'm giving you all 4-5 stars because of the initial poor customer service I got.

I inherited my mom's 1965 Singer sewing machine and was excited to get it repaired and running again. It had been stored in a garage for many years. We made a trip out and were a little confused, as the address led us to a building named Eisenhauer Marketplace. Expected possibly a grocery store? But when we walked in, we were happily surprised that it was an indoor flea market! Not sure if there was a vendor directory, but we perused the stalls and finally found him located towards the back of the building near the entrance. We later moved our car and parked it towards the back. Met Richard, super friendly and easy going. Handed over my machine and he said that he would text with an estimate, and then to let him know if it was a yay or nay for service repair. Note: he repairs many brands of sewing machine/vacuums. Happy to find out that he services Kirby! Prompt service with estimate and repair! He communicated through text, but also stated to call with any questions. Picked up my sewing machine yesterday, he remembered me- my name and my machine. Excellent customer service. My machine was cleaned up and serviced and was installed with a new bobbin. Reasonable pricing!!!! Happy to return if I need any other repairs. Thank you!

He recommended we contact the manufacturer to see if the warranty would cover it, and it did! The second time he came out one of the burners on our stove was malfunctioning. He knew exactly what the issue was, and what part to order. He also checked the icemaker in our fridge, (don't buy an LG fridge) gave me the part number to order, and told me I could replace it myself and save some money. When a repair technician does a good job and also helps you save money, what more can you ask for? Thanks to Joe for his expertise and professionalism!

This is probably the worst customer service experience I have ever dealt with in my entire life…read more To start off with. The "technician" Matthew did not have my correct address the morning of our appointment. He stated his company "does not allow them to have the customer's address and gives them just gps coordinates" He was late about 3 hours. He shows up in his personal vehicle , no company vehicle. He does not carry any parts on his truck. So he came to my house just to guess on what part was not working and ordered something off of Amazon. No diagnostic tools , no F codes , just mumbo gumbo about how he has so much experience on washers and it could be two things. My drain pump or my lid lock sensor. I had mentioned to him earlier that , I had checked the drain pump for a clog and it was clear. He misheard me or thought I said I replaced it. I didn't replace it. I just checked if it was clogged. He tells us , he'll order the lid sensor and will come back the next day. The next day , I text him. Hey what's your eta? No answer. No text. Just silence. I call the company. Calls me back and tells me the part is not here yet and he'll be there later in the afternoon. I told him just to come by the next morning. Strange an appliance repair company doesn't carry parts. They order them on Amazon. Wow, okay. This morning. Comes to my house , switches the lid lock sensor. Realizes its not the lid lock sensor and tells my wife, " Hey bro , I think its the drain pump so I'll have to come back another day , so I'll have to charge you another trip charge and if its not the drain pump , it might be the control board" Wife says he called her bro like 7-8 times while explaining the extra charges. She texts me to call him. I called him to question why we are getting charged again if I already had a quote on the repair. Seems like charging me for extra trips to get Amazon parts is not a smart business decision. I asked him why did he not check if it was the drain pump first. He said he didn't because I had already replaced it once. I never said that. I checked if it was clogged. I told him just to leave. We'll sort if out with a real appliance repair company. He then tells me he is sick of f**king people like me and that this always happens to him. Then hangs up. Then he proceeds to text me 14 times on how much he was saving us with prices of different drain pumps and that he is exhausted from difficult customers. What a nut job. What a terrible company. The way he speaks about his superiors and the company itself should be a sign of what inept people hired him in the first place. Cussing to customers and complaining to them is such a red flag. Please save yourself some trouble and go with a reputable appliance repair. Hope this review helps you.

My disappointment with Mr. Appliance cannot be overstated. This was, without exaggeration, one of…read morethe most poorly managed service experiences I've ever dealt with. We were told our parts would arrive in a week. Ten days later, they showed up with only half of what was ordered, casually mentioning the rest were on backorder. There was no communication whatsoever -- no service window, no heads up, no courtesy call. We didn't hear a single word from them until they were already at the gate of our subdivision. When they arrived, they admitted they were hoping the one part they did bring would fix the issue. It didn't. Only then did they inform us that the remaining part would take another three weeks to arrive. And then came the final blow: they told us that due to an error on their part, the final price would now be $400 more than the quote we had already agreed to. Incomplete parts, zero communication, guesswork instead of proper diagnostics, and a surprise price hike -- every step of this process was unacceptable. I strongly advise avoiding Mr. Appliance.

I was…read moreasked to send photos of the refrigerator model number, the face of the fridge, and of the ice maker itself. The text I received indicated that yes, Mr. Ortega does work on that unit, and a service call was scheduled two days hence. As it turns out, Hugo Ortega did not appear for the service call, but rather his son Tim. It seems that the father, Hugo, tends to work primarily on washer/dryer, and Tim deals with refrigerators and dishwashers. (They are both able to work on any of the appliances, but they have their particular interests, according to Tim). Personable and polite, Tim went through his diagnostics, explaining as he proceeded, and determined that the problem was the ice maker's motor. And.. he has a Kitchenaid ice maker on his truck. But here is where it gets a bit interesting. It seems that the icemakers on this brand can be different: some sit on the side of the freezer, some sit in the center of the freezer...and one is not an exact "bolt In" for the other. He stocked the side fitting unit, and I have the centrally sitting unit. So what Tim did was dismantle his unit, and used the parts to fit on the chassis of my unit. As he nimbly disassembled and reassembled the units, I was reminded of a scene in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", in which Tuco takes apart several revolvers, and knew which parts would fit the chassis of his new revolver. WOW. DOUBLE WOW! With the unit now working as new...which essentially it was...I realized this young man definitely knows his refrigerators!! But the story gets better. I asked if he works on Jennair Downdraft glass stove tops, as one of my burners was not working. He doesn't really service these units, but he went through an online parts manual, and given the symptoms I described, he told of three possible defects...and he listed the parts numbers and the suggested prices for the parts. I was pretty impressed with his efforts for an appliance he doesn't work on! So can I recommend the Ortegas for appliance repair? Definitely! They are my "go to" repairmen now!! Good Luck Yelpers

We contacted this janky company to get our Heating Element replaced, because our dryer stopped…read moreheating and after doing a little research we found out it was the heating element that needed to be replaced. I see this one BAD review AFTER setting an appointment, unaware that it's a third company that has a contract with unlicensed techs! I relayed the message to Tyson along with my concern about his bad review on Yelp. He assures me he is not who the review says he is, etc. He also agrees that it sounds like it could totally be the heating element, but let me get my brother out there April 26 to take a look and make sure. Brother and son comes (son in training) they take my Samsung dryer apart quick! "Oh, it's the Cycling Thermostat, heating element is fine." Nothing was wrong with anything cycling before, it was just not heating, is what I'm thinking to myself-but they are the professionals righhht?! WRONG!! Fast forward to today Tyson comes out, swears up and down he was the man in my house a month ago (I'm sure he wasn't) he finally realizes he wasn't here after I told him it was another guy and a trainee! He confirmed it was indeed his brother and son He initially charged us $217.00 for the 1st repair and today he wanted $200 more for the "Heating Element" WE TOLD HIM WAS THE PROBLEM AT FIRST!!! While he goes to "get the parts, that he "may be able" to come back and finish today." (screws all out of our dryer because he didn't put them back). By this time, we figure something isn't right...we look up parts to see how much a heating element cost and it was literally $36 on Amazon!!! He got offended when we asked for receipts for the parts he was getting from his appliance store. Dude, you're literally about to make a total of $400 off of us for something that should've been fixed a month ago for $217!! Your brother and son failed at identifying the TRUE issue OR they are trained to do a TEMP fix to have to come back and get more money out of honest hardworking ppl! He seems and looks a little sketchy, worst customer service ever!! I'm talking to my husband about just buying a new dryer and he's like "You're not going to hurt my feelings, all I ask is that you give me this one to cover the trip charge." "You're only going to get $10 bucks for it if you try to sell it." Dude?!?! Who are talking to you?!?! Long story short, I wouldn't trust this man or his family to do anything in or around me or my family and friends home! Do NOT support this business, unless you are personally in the business of giving away money for bad service! Also, I sent an email by 5/15 (during my 30 day warranty on service) regarding a noise I wasn't use to hearing, got no response. Today, his response to this was "I have too many emails to go thru!"
