It's great service and great food but came in earlier this week with my mother. ordered a sandwich which was huge. Usually a great blessing but when I tried to eat it it just fell apart due to the rye bread being old. It's so frustrating to want a sandwich and just to eat the meat and cheese as everything was on the plate in crumbles. The onion was so thick that it made th sandwich even thicker so I went to the second half took off bread and took home the meat and cheese. Told the waiter but not sure he let the cooks know. Food is very good for bar food and have a great $4 happy hour specials from 4-7pm and 9pm-midnight and Wednesday from 4pm-midnight. Bryce the bar tender is very friendly and is one of the best servers I've seen. They also have a great poker on Wednesday nights starting at 7pm. Where do I start. I usually come for breakfast on the weekends which I already love but I stopped in tonight for dinner. $12.95 for a 10oz ribeye covered in grilled onions and mushrooms which came with a huge loaded baked potato (you can get mashed and gravy too) garlic green beans, salad and garlic bread. We've been into Puff's a couple times now and have decided this just might be our go-to sports/dive bar. Service is always great, food is great and they seem to have a good mix of regulars and new visitors. Have only enjoyed breakfast here: Stuffed hash browns and Puff's country morning. Both great. If you are debating between the two, I think I enjoyed Puff's country morning slightly more. Great bloody mary's for weekend brunching. I also loved that they have mocktails on the menu. We stopped in to have a Bloody Mary for our first time in this establishment. The bartender, Bert, was very welcoming and efficient. We did win a little on the slots too which was an added plus ( star). Definitely will return and tell other friends about their clean , friendly, pub with open pool tables. Puffs is full of very disrespectful bar tenders. All of the food we ordered was absolutely mediocre at best. When we went to close our tab a bar tender named Tyler told us to, "find a different place to stand" in a very rude manner. We were at the very end of the bar. His behavior was completely unacceptable. We spent more than enough money and tipped an adequate amount. When I called to leave a message for the manager or owner, the message was deleted. The employee Tyler was clearly behind the act of deleting these voicemails in order to not lose his job. He is clearly not capable of maintaining a position anywhere. I will absolutely not return to this establishment. If your are in the Gresham area, spend your money elsewhere. Somewhere where you can get a good drink with nice staff. Seriously take this place off your list. (Not that you were ever planning on coming here. Lol) The only reason I'm posting a single star is because I can't post anything less. I came in for Taco Tuesday under recommendation from a friend. Parking was pretty good for a bar, The building was clean. Seating was good and there are 4 pool tables and a basketball game. Large outdoor smoking patio some covered some open. Corn hole games outside. The bar was fully staffed. Looked like 5 people plus cooks. I was able to order quickly and both my drinks and the tacos were great. I had an enjoyable dinner with a large group of about 15+ people and the staff were in good spirits and very attentive. I will definitely return for Taco Tuesday's but I should add the happy hour menu (After 9pm)has got to be the best priced food anywhere. The mini nachos are not mini at all and the burgers looked amazing. You have to give this place a try and I think you too will find the same great service and enjoyable atmosphere. read more

Yep, it's still good here. I have been back quite a few times and the burger just doesn't let you down when you have a craving for saucy bacon cheesy goodness. The fries are hit are miss, but the burger is where it's at. The other day they had a 50 cent taco special that my friend had and she said they were good. It looked like a small portion, but for 50 cents, it seems a good deal. I had the buffalo chicken wings and those were standard just okay fare. I won't get them again. They were 4 bucks on the Happy Hour menu. Another time we had a chicken quesadilla and that was really filling as an appetizer. It was also on the Happy Hour menu. I'm sticking to the fabulous burgers though. Oh and the other night when I was there karaoke was going on, but only two of us sang and no one was enthused about hearing more karaoke so we left and went to Chinese Village instead. read more

Let me start by saying that this place is a hell hole, but I love it. It's my "Friday" morning hangout for my coworkers and I. We find ourselves here every Wednesday after a long work week knocking down beers and chomping on burgers. By the time I leave this place I'm always well feed and and needing a ride home because I've drank too much. Last time I was there was about 2007, and it was bustling with patrons, playing pool and singing terribly at a karaoke machine. I did not see any more bikers, so I assume they left this place alone once the police started watching the bar as a full time gig. Nowadays, it's a run of the mill East county dive, what else? Well hell, they got rid of the sign with the dragon on it...that's garbage :p So when my girlfriend moved in she wanted to see a local dive bar, and we happened to be driving down Stark, so we swung into Puff's. They have a small dance floor and generally play decent music. Plenty of booths to sit in, a few pool tables, and a large outdoor deck with ample seating. And this is actually the first bar I've been to in a while that has one of those basketball carnival-esque games, which can be pretty fun after a few brews :) Drink prices are average from what I remember, it's been a few months since I've been here. I love, Love. LOVE this place ! They always have a great selection of beers on tap, well maintained pool tables, AWESOME staff, friendly regulars, large outdoor area... The weekends are a bit crowded sometimes, but it's worth waiting to get in if you have to, and they have Karaoke, poker leagues, pool leagues and some pretty cool video games. Don't come looking for trouble though because the bouncers (and a few of the bartenders, I hear) are all ninjas...except for the chief of security...I think he's a sumo wrestler. I have been going to puffs for a long time and frankly I love the place i love the people who work there specially our bartender Nick. He knows how to make a good drink but also a stiff one. We always have out parties here. They play a range of music during the week but on the weekends they have a DJ. I know this place in the past had a rep as a biker bar but ever since "Lucky s" shut down and now is a country bar this is the only other place for those who live in Gresham to go to with the variety of music we listen to with out having to go to downtown Portland and breaking our wallets. My partner worked here for the last several months. He really did enjoy his time working with the staff and customers at Puffs. I'd been in as well and enjoyed the environment too. Yesterday he was let go. The reason he was given by his boss was that he wasn't working out, the regulars had complained about him. They said that he just didn't fit in. That's fine really. He now has a job closer to home and it seems to be a better fit. So, now on to my review and why I'm writing it. This all may be simply coincidental but I think perhaps not. Weeks before he was let go because he didn't fit in, several events happened while he worked there (which he shared with me as each had happened)... About a month ago a group of hispanic men were heckled for speaking spanish to each other by a regular. My partner told the regular to stop or leave. The man eventually left. A few nights later a black couple were in to Puffs. My partner served them in the order in which people came to the bar. Later that night the man thanked him for the best service he's ever received there, granting him a hefty tip after letting him know he's been commonly ignored at Puffs. A few nights later, a regular went off on several hispanic women because they were in her seat, yelling at them. When one of the women that was yelled at simply waved it off the regular accused her of assault and was mystified by my partner not kicking them out. Then again, several black women were in on another night. Several regulars complained that they were causing trouble, being too loud and about to start a fight. My partner saw them having fun on the dance floor and maybe a bit loud but nothing else. All of these events, and a few more, just happened in the last several weeks. My partner was told the other day that he didn't fit in and would not be employed there anymore. The regulars did not like him. I'm writing this review not to be vindictive. I just want the public to know. This condoned behavior at Puff's Pub is not ok. It's racism. My partner did not act accordingly and was let go. I am very proud of my partner, that he stood up against racism and behaved appropriately in the face if it. This should not be tolerated, anywhere, even in Fairview, OR. read more

I've been coming to Puffs for over 20 yrs And I've never been treated so rudely. I came with My dad who's 80 yrs old. Our wait person was good but very busy. She never came back to check on us. We asked for a second glass of tea The girl that was at the bar was standing and talking to the same two men for 20 min. We asked her for some more tea. Which she gave but with no ice. My dad kept waving for the girl at the bar and she told him to hold on and continued her conversation with the two guys We finally got the attention of a sweet blonde who gave us more ice and boxes for our togo. We waited for quite awhile for a bill awhile our waitress was on her phone.The whole time the snotty girl that my dad was waiving over that told us to hold on while she talked to her friends were talking about my dad and him waiving her over. Not cool at all. As we were leaving I wanted to thank the girl who finally helped us and I heard the snotty one making fun of us thanking the other bartender. Now I was a bartender for over 30 yrs and never treated anyone like we were treated. And she is damn lucky my dad was there. Because I wanted to snatch her. The last few times that we have been here it's the same crap. We will not be back period. We could have went right a across the street to CedarVille Inn where we are treat with respect. My dad just loves y'all skillets. That being said. The snotty little girl had a black widow on her chest and White knee high socks on with bows that literally didn't stop talking to her friends while making fun of us was ridiculous and we will never be back. Love this place! My fellow co-owrkers spend Weds. mornings here after our long, compressed, night shift work weeks. The staff is always very friendly and they tend to expect us. Regulars can almost expect their drinks to be ready when they arrive! The food is crazy delicious and the prices are killer! Be aware that it is incredibly busy at really odd hours due to the semiconductor industry workers! The downside is that it seems like cops hang around and the ladies' bathroom is in some disrepair. The building as a whole could use some more lighting and upgrades, but it's not going to stop me from showing up! read more

Experienced people behind the bar and on the floor working as an efficient unit, so waits are never long. Drink menu is great, drink specials are better. Great spot for locals to meet.
