Kenny Mac's had good reviews and a lot of good pictures so we decided to take a chance on them. Upon arrival, the place was super spacious and clean and the team was really welcoming. There was also convenient street parking and a nice area to sit while you waited for your haircut. Onto the haircut! We had the honor of having Kenny Mac himself cut my fiancés hair. He was super kind and easy to chat with during the haircut. We gave him an inspiration picture and he followed that perfectly, like it was incredibly spot on. He was super thoughtful too, asking questions and going back and forth to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. And the outcome was impressive. I think he will do exactly what you ask him to, so if you're not happy that could be on the customer lol. He recreated the picture we sent him perfectly. The fade was fresh and sharp, and the vibes were good. It was also a good sign that there was a decent customer flow. I was also waiting around and noticed that a lot of other customers had really nice haircuts too so you can tell they really take their time to produce high quality haircuts for everyone, no matter which team member it is. We feel a lot better knowing that we have someone in the city that can do a good job and we are glad that we took a chance on the right person. He also offers mobile services throughout the city so that is really helpful. I really wish we took a fresh picture of the haircut, because now it is grown out, but I think the other pictures you see online reflect the service you receive. Also the prices were really reasonable. I'd definitely try this place out if you're looking for a high quality barber!

Hector's Barbershop is one of many Latino owned barbershops in the Bucktown/Logan Square area. Being located just outside of Humboldt Park, the place attracts a wide range of customer base. And even though the barbers are mostly Puerto Rican (and a black guy or two), ALL of the barbers there are capable of giving a good haircut to just about anyone and all of the barbers have a specialty or "signature haircut" lol.. The barbers are also very talented and capable of providing special haircuts such as "Faded Mohawks", "UV", and "Graphics (Designs or Head Graffiti)". Specialties are "Fades" and "Blowouts". They also have hair braiders that provide clean, slick, braids dats stay for days!! Hector's Barbershop is universal and can provide service to just about anyone. I am a guy who is VERY picky with my haircut and I can say I leave there satisfied. The bad side to the shop is that it can be very hectic on certain days such as weekends, and waits vary depending on your barber (but if you chat with the barber a little and tip well regularly this problem can be avoided after becoming a regular.. Heh, you may even come to learn that your barber has other kinds of hookups that are good for you too!!). They are open just about everyday except Sunday and Monday. Prices are as followed (please note they MAY change): $8 for a lineup, $14 for a haircut and line up for adults (tip included supposedly), $16+ for graphicz, $20+ for braids, and $10 haircuts for kids. These prices may be a little up there for some, but in my experience they are pretty fair and worth it. The thing is that you always know that you can go there and leave feeling great and satisfied.. They not only give great cuts, but love doing it as well!! Kudos Hector!! read more
