The Barbershop is the last place of sacred standing where men can come and discuss the intricacies of life. Each barber does an amazing job. After my wife Ellen passed away I was so depressed and talked to no one. I walked into this shop one day after months of not getting a hair cut or beard trim and they restored my confidence. I forgot what a shave and a haircut could do to a man. Now I get a monthly hair cut and visit my Ellen right across the street. Bless these men and their artistic talents to restore confidence in those who have lost it. Outstanding service!

I get having a late or missed appointment fee, but the full price plus tip is just excessive. When I called the barber (Jonathan) to ask him about it, he immediately got defensive and said "That's the policy." No sympathy. He offered to return the $7 tip that I gave him for not cutting my hair, but I did not want to be so petty. It's not about the $7 tip. I said, "No, I just won't come back there anymore" and he said, "Ok, bye." Clearly he doesn't care about customer service and thinks he will just get new customers to replace anyone he offends. By the way, I had an appointment earlier in the week that THEY canceled on me. But do I get a credit or even an offered rescheduled time? Nope.

They're not completely horrible but they can do a better job if they TOOK THEIR TIME. When they call you up to the chair, discuss the haircut you want and then the actual haircut, it will have taken about 15-25 minutes, which I think is too rushed for a proper haircut. Sorry but for $25, it's not worth it.

I have been going here for well over 7 years now, driving all the way from Glendale Heights to go there. In my life I've only had 5 barbers, and I'm a young 45 years old. So when I came to Art of Man it was at the recommendation of my brother-in-law. While hesitant, I gave in since I really needed this and my barber of 7 years was MIA in all this. I met with Nester the owner and one of the barbers here. As we continued to speak, which was a relief to be able to convese with someone outside my family, I find out that he's been the barber for my cousin for as long as I can remember. So there was more to talk about. It made me feel more comfortable and with that a gateway into open dialog began. The pace is small, but it's perfect for a barbershop. The place is clean and the "regulars" here are always friendly and open to conversation while you wait for your cut. A few cool things to note, a mask is a requirement, chair and equipment is sanitized between seatings, and they use contact less payment methods so no need to worry here. They've even gone as far as to skip a chair so that they are effectively practicing social distancing. Check them out and support a Marine vet.
