I've had my fair share of bad haircuts. Some were uneven, and others couldn't follow a simple request for a faded neckline. With this, when I find a barber shop that gives a me a quality cut in line with what I asked for, I have no reason to go anywhere else. This is that case with Artur's. No matter which barber I went to, the cut (and sometimes beard trim) was always what I asked for. Service has always been kind and polite, also. I've tried looking at other barber shops to see what's out there, but I always find myself booking an appointment here. No need to poke the bear. Finally, the vibe is simple. It is neither the very old school with wood older than my father, nor is it one of the fancy modern places that services cocktails (not that there's anything wrong with either). Me being me, while vibe can be nice, I do to get my hair done, not primarily for the social aspect. All this said, I see Artur's remaining my go-to shop, at least as long as I live in the general area. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. In town from Texas. Artur took care of Jeremy for a men's haircut. Service was very detailed and meticulous. Environment was very relaxing. Easy parking. For the price point, it's exceptional work. We are set clients moving forward! read more

Yulia is amazing. She has been cutting my hair and beard for a couple of years now. It's always first class and I am very happy each time. This is a traditional barber shop with an upbeat vibe. Her lines are tight and my beard lineup looks incredible. read more

I got a great cut my first time here, and they could accommodate my request for a same day appointment. The barber was very attentive and gave me a thoroughly excellent cut for a reasonable price. This is now going to be my neighborhood spot! They are also gay friendly which awesome. I felt very comfortable. read more

I walked in on 12/15 and was ignored. To the woman cutting hair so close to the door . All you have to say is "hello " do you have an appointment, we're about to close , we'll be right with you . I got ignored, the energy was so negative. I live down the street so I walked, but I was more than happy to drive to a different place where they make their guest feel welcomed. I don't think I've ever wrote a review on anything, but you guys inspired me to. read more

Randomly stopped in here today with my partner and both did a great job cutting our hair! Very nice and laid back and under $40 for once!

This the third time visiting this shop - and it's been a consistently excellent experience. I generally don't require a complex haircut, and it's really only 2-3 times per year that I venture into a shop for a 'reset', so I'm not one that has a consistent 'barber'. That said, the staff is professional, friendly, and meticulous - regardless of with whom I make my appointment. Yes, they highly recommend making an appointment as opposed to walk-ins, which is fine with me. It's efficient and expedient to schedule the time, both for the customer and the barber and the web interface is simple to navigate. Very clean and comfortable shop - I highly recommend Artur's. Some notes - they're in my hood so I just walk, but keep in mind that street parking is pay for park. Bryn Mawr is also pretty busy so I would suggest alternatives to driving. Also, I had gone to the same location a few years ago and was not impressed - Artur has turned this place around into an aesthetically pleasing and reasonably priced shop to get your hairs cut! read more

I took my toddler son for a haircut on a Saturday morning. After having a few bad experiences at "kids exclusive" haircut places, we were so happy to find an actual barbershop that could give our son a nice haircut. Reuben took his time and did a wonderful job. read more

I've never had a recurring barber/stylist that I would go to before I started frequenting Artur's. But after having Igor cut my hair, I knew I couldn't go back to the Great Clips life. He's great and I will be a return customer because of the attention to detail and thorough job he does in combing over my head trying to find any strays. read more

Went in for a haircut with David and let me tell you this, I have not felt more comfortable with a person than him! He exactly knows what you are looking for and is very approachable! Ditched my Barber from Aurora (35 miles out) just for this guy and definitely recommend! Great service! read more

Been a day one customer for 5 years. I've never written a review till today. Finding a great barber is like finding a doctor. Artur has been my barber since he opened shop in 2019. Edgewater's Finest Barber. Don't think twice and book your appointment. All the staff are well skilled in their craft of cutting hair. David has been a day one barber as well but just know all the barbers can take care of your needs. Friendly smiles, good vibes, and music to make you feel like home. From customer to family, Artur's Barber shop has became my second home. read more

Artur's Barber Shop - 5 years later, 2024. - Barbers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I got a Tuesday hair cut here around noon with Enrique and he did a fantastic job of essentially fixing what went wrong with a previous hair cut that I got a few weeks prior. It was also my first time ever getting my beard trimmed at an establishment and he also did a fantastic job with that as well. I would 100% return back to this place and book with Enrique again. He spent a lot of time making sure everything was looking right. The precision to detail was very well regarded. Make sure to book your appointment online and also note that it's a Cash Only establishment! They do have an ATM there I believe just in case you forgot. read more

I scheduled an 11 am with Igor. I got there at maybe 1055 and before I could take my coat and hat off, I was already in the chair. I'd come here after having a bad row of scheduling issues with my previous barber. That said, it was nice to get in the chair at the time I actually scheduled, and not 30 minutes to an hour later. Who knew? I got a skin fade, line up, and beard shave. I walked out feeling ace, and I think I found a new barber (thank God!). Fantastic job! Highly recommended. Also a cool little atmosphere too. read more

Hi Artur, Supporting local businesses is not a given, you have to earn that support. I shared my experience, which was not good one. If you chose to dismiss my experience that is your choice. I've included a post for from the barber who also responded to my post. You may want to consider this an opportunity to improve your business and earn local support rather than demand it. read more

Artur's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Poor quality hair cut for a man with medium length hair. I specifically asked for the top of my hair to be pinned up and not touched. They cut my bangs and I had to ask the stylist to even out the sides because she was cutting it for a comb over when I didn't ask for that. I see lots of medium length cuts in the pictures and can only assume they were done by someone else. Now I need to wait a few weeks and get this fixed. Also, there was hair everywhere and interior was not cleanly. read more

Worst haircut I've ever had! I have long hair and a beard and was looking to get a simple haircut and beard trim for a wedding I'm standing up in, well that's not at all what I received. When I was first called up I was nervous because it was hard to explain to the barber the simple haircut I was after. I told him to take 2-3 inches off my hair and clean up the beard (pretty simple right) and it seemed like he was having a hard time understanding. Also while I was trying to explain what I wanted his cell phone kept ringing and he seemed more concerned about the cell phone than figuring out the haircut I wanted. Finally the his phone stopped ringing and he gave me his full attention and I felt like he knew what I wanted so he began. Once he started I felt like he was kind of all over the place and seemed very nervous which again made me uneasy. However he finished the back and my girlfriend said it looked good so I let my guard down and let him finish. Once he was done I put my glasses back on and took a look at myself in the mirror, I was devastated, this guy had shaved the front 2 inches of my hairline back, I guess he was trying to even it out (something I never asked him to do). He also reshaped my beard (again something I never asked him to do), I had a full wide thick looking beard when I went in, when I left I had an uneven pencil thin beard. So now at this point I need to get this haircut fixed because I have a wedding I'm standing up in less than 2 weeks away, my girlfriend called to complain and they said to come back in and they will fix it, well I went back and was told there's no way to fix it and to maybe just comb my hair over the spot he shaved, which is definitely not a solution to the problem. Now I'm going to have to wear a hat when I stand up in the wedding, also probably gonna have to shave my beard. Like I said WORST EVER!!! read more

Artur's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I'm new to Chicago and finding a local barber shop that I liked was something I was a bit worried about, since there are so many hit or miss barbers out there. Artur's was the first barber shop I tried since it's right in my neighborhood and I'm lucky Edgewater has such a great place! I've driven 20-30 minutes for a barber shops in previous cities I've lived in. It's definitely a small place, if you walk too fast you'll miss it! It's next to Blowfish Sushi. The barbers at Artur's are very warm, nice people and they also have a lot of confidence and skill. I've specifically been going to Turan and he's great! I really appreciate his attention to detail and the effort he makes into doing a good job. Artur's is a great place and I highly recommend it! read more

I've been going to Artur to get my hair cut for the past 5 years. Since the first time, I've always left his shop happy with the result, and he has been extremely consistent. I feel very comfortable when I step foot inside and I really couldn't imagine going to anyone else in the city. Even after moving to another neighborhood, I will still travel almost an hour to get to Artur's, it's that good. read more

I got my haircut and beard done by Julia. She was super nice and asked a lot of questions which was great. She made sure I left with exactly what I asked for. I got a great cut and I was looking fresh when I left. Thanks! read more

This neighborhood barbershop is beyond wonderful! They are kind, welcoming, and above all, their barbers are SKILLED. I go there every month now to see Yullia. We have a great conversation as she gives me a fantastic fade haircut. If you're in Edgewater, check them out as it's a phenomenal find. I love supporting reasonably priced, LGBTQ+ friendly, local businesess! read more

This was my first visit to an actual barber because I'm usually not comfortable in all male spaces -- I loved it! Space is queer friendly and clean. Josh was my barber and he gave me a proper haircut/beard trim and some good conversation. The price was reasonable and I will definitely be going back in a few weeks! read more

I have been having my hair cut with Ruben for the past several months. I am a stylist myself and have been in the chair of many stylists/barbers over the years, and have to say "hands down" Ruben has given me some of the best haircuts I have ever had.....He is a technically meticulous and also a very nice person. A real asset to the business. I must also add that all the people who work at Arturs are always very friendly and welcoming when you arrive for your appointment. read more

Yuliia has been cutting my hair at Artur's for around a year now and I'm always happy with the results. I have been going to Artur's since he opened this summer. I have never had the care and attention that I receive at this clean and calm space. The warm and cold face wraps and warm shaving cream straight Razer shave are such a great touch. I always get the bald fade and beard trim. It is a barber shop and a close cut is what they specialize in, as well as a slow paced personalized attention to detail. read more

Love this place! they did an amazing job with our two year old boys. Highly recommend it!

Update on the review... Artur, the owner, was very professional and reached out to me multiple times to fix the situation. The way he made me feel and his willingness to make me happy deserves accolades. Ernesto no longer works at Artur's, which is not necessarily the remedy for which I was looking, but it was Ernesto's choice. I would recommend this barber shop to anyone because Artur cared and his willingness to make the situation better. I trust that my next experience at Artur's Barber Shop will be stellar. He cut my hair and tried to fix He hate leaving negative review because I know small business owners need positive reviews to thrive, but my experience warrants this negative review. I couldn't get to my normal guy so I walked in to Arthur's because I needed a clean up. I saw Ernesto. I repeatedly said do not touch the top just clean up the sides. He tried to convince me to take off more off the top but I said no. Watching very closely making sure he didn't take any off the top I thought I was safe until the end, saw that he was going to cut off too much, was about to say stop but he took it upon himself to take off several inches on the right side. Saying I needed it. He fucking butchered my hair! The normal side of my head is over 5 glorious inches long and the other is about an inch. I saw in his eyes that he fucked up. I said too short! He didn't even try to fix it. Ernesto did not listen to me at all. No regard for what I wanted or communicated. Never again! Now I have to take another 6 months to grow out my hair so both sides are even. I'm sure he is a very nice guy, but if you want a barber to do what ever he wants then Ernesto is your guy. If you have specific instructions then don't see Ernesto! read more

Have seen Anthony before. Last time he did a fantastic job! Came in today for a cut and asked for half an inch cut off and let him do his thing as he seemed he was under the weather. When he was finished a majority of my hair was gone almost 2 1/2inches as someone who is gender queer and used my hair as self expression I was in shock. Photo from today and 3 days prior read more

Artur is the best. We found him when we first moved to the area earlier this year and my boyfriend needed a place to get his hair cut. Shop is small but beautiful and clean.
