When I first sat down at the bar, she was the only person who actually noticed I had been waiting. No eye contact from anyone else. She immediately stepped in and took care of it. Then she made my Old Fashioned exactly how I like it. Not overly sweet, balanced, and actually tasting like bourbon instead of syrup. You could tell she cared enough to get it right instead of letting a rushed bartender crank something out. The best part came after that. I'm from Northern California and admittedly have a slightly obnoxious wine palate. Instead of just pointing at the wine list and walking away, Taylor spent a solid 10 minutes walking me through their red selections, talking about flavor profiles, letting me taste a couple options, and helping me land on a bottle that actually hit the spot. I'm a very type-A person and I never felt like I was asking for too much. We had all of our questions answered and had pleasant interactions with Kimberlyn as well. On the day of, Sierra, Lily and DJ Rachel were extremely attentive, communicative and overall on top of everything. I appreciate that we were able to call, text and email any questions we had at any time and heard back from the Wedgewood team in a very timely manner. Of all of our wedding week events, we had the least concerns about the wedding day and everything ran smoothly and to our liking. We have been receiving tons of compliments about how the staff were running a tight ship and that we didn't have to worry about anything because it all was taken care of. I am very big on customer service and we have not heard a single negative comment from any of our guests. The only hiccups with our wedding were issues with outside vendors that the Wedgewood team helped us address. They were very respectful, professional, and went above and beyond to make things right by offering us an additional 2 hours for 5 people. That gesture meant a lot and showed great customer care. In the end, while there was a hiccup, the excellent service from the team and the effort to resolve the issue made a positive difference. I hope management can work on consistency in customer service, because the rest of the staff truly shines.

The next room over was perfect for a small play bouncer. No kitchen area. The catering company all had to set up outside in the already limited parking lot area. The pavement was in ruin. We have always come to the Marine protected area when the tide is low and walked along the beach and sand outside the Institute to see all sorts of sea life. It is amazing what you can see, even saw an octopus one time. Just make sure that you know when the tide is rolling in and out to not get caught out on the rocks! On the backside of the Institute there are also benches to sit at and listen to the ocean. The Institute itself is filled with wonderful sea life and is a great learning experience no matter your age. Outside, there is a calm bay area where paddle boarders are all over as well as the educational ships filled with history. There is nothing that you cannot do in this area!
