I asked friends if they knew of anyone who does this and came up with nothing. I suddenly remembered this store and was wondering if it is still around. Sure enough, it is and looked on the website if they do relacing and they do! I was wondering if they relace vintage baseball gloves and took the shot and drove up there. Sure enough, they were able to take my gloves and relace them. The gentleman mentioned it would be ready by the next day. Dropped them off and about 2 hours later, I got a message that they're ready! That was so fast and a very reasonable price to get them relaced. I am so thankful for this store, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They love the sport and it shows. I thought this store was going to close about 20 years ago when I stepped in for the first time because baseball was dying. I got my first Rawlings glove here and still have it to this day. I'm glad Charlie Rose is still open and I hope business continues!

Today as I browsed around, I noted that the store was overwhelmed with World Cup gear which is cool, but the merchandise that I saw, including Jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, etc., was really crowded and disorganized and it looked like the Tasmanian Devil had whirled himself through it. The aisles were also impossibly packed with stuff, and it made passing other customers an obstacle course. Anyway, I also walked past the flip-flops with the intention of possibly purchasing a new pair for the summer. Leather Olukais were almost $90, simple Havaianas were over $40, and plastic Birks were $50. Needless to say, I didn't buy any... I'll stick with my beloved & comfy Reefs that I bought last summer. Finally, I walked over the water bottles... There was one type of Stanley straws available and they were $11.25. I looked online and the same straws were originally priced at $15 , but were on sale for $9. There were no Stanley "boots" in the store, so I couldn't get one of those. They had some made by another brand, and a few Owala ones, but none of the colors worked with my tumbler. So I just decided to get the straws. I asked the cashier if they honor online prices, and she said they did which I appreciated. She looked at my phone and said, "oh these other straws are the ones that are on sale." I said, "these straws (in my hand) are the only ones that you have in the store." And then she agreed to give me the discount... Keep in mind that the prices of the same item were different online vs. in store, and then the higher priced straws were discounted even further. Buyer beware... I left the store with my straws in hand, and a burning desire not to return to this store again, unless I absolutely have to, as the shopping experience was mediocre in my opinion. Mahalo!

Walking in brought back memories of being a kid and coming here for bats, cleats, gloves, and whatever I needed for the next season. Experiences like this make it feel like childhood sports aren't completely gone in the age of online shopping. The selection is still what I remember, a little bit of everything for a wide variety of sports and seasons. The employee working the counter on Labor Day was polite, personable, knowledgeable, and quick. I also appreciate that this is still a place where you can walk in and pick up something sports-related quickly or at the last minute without breaking the bank or waiting for an online order. The Legend of the Logan Lure…read more Before heading into the Amazon to chase peacock bass, I stopped by Sportsman's Warehouse to get some new reels spooled with line and pick up a few last-minute supplies. That's where I met Logan. Having never fished the Amazon myself, I figured my guess about which lures might work was probably no better than anyone else's. So, during my preparations, I decided to conduct a highly scientific experiment. At each of the fishing stores I visited, I asked the sales associate helping me to pick out ONE lure they thought might catch fish in the Amazon. No pressure. No wrong answers. Just a little friendly competition involving a river none of us had ever fished. Jonas had a pick. Brian had a pick. Logan had a pick. And I had a suitcase full of lures and absolutely no idea which ones would actually work. (Each meticulously labeled) Fast-forward a few thousand miles to the Brazilian Amazon. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Logan's selection, now officially known as "The Logan Lure," outperformed the competition, including plenty of lures I had personally selected with considerably more confidence and apparently less intelligence. My son landed a beautiful peacock bass on the Logan Lure, and I've included photographic evidence of both the fish and the winning selection. The lure survived several other catches albeit down one hook, and will be framed for posterity. So, congratulations, Logan. You've earned bragging rights over your fellow fishing-store experts, helped a San Diego father and son make a great memory in the Brazilian Amazon, and achieved international fishing fame without ever leaving Sportsman's Warehouse. Five stars for Logan. Zero stars for the rest of our collective fishing expertise. If you're heading into the Amazon, apparently Logan is your guy. And Logan, don't let this go to your head. I had to buy a kick stand since it doesn't come with the bike and it came loose , so I came today to have it fix and wanting to return the white lucky cat water bottle bike holder since I found the black one somewhere else where it's sold out. Chris acknowledge me since he was busy with a customer, apologizing that I had to wait and fixed the bike stand , took off the cat water bottle holder, put air in my tires, adjusted my seat, height and put the phone holder I never got originally? On that note... gotta give that credit to Kelly, who noticed I didn't have one and I told her I brought it up when I bought the bike Wednesday ? She even adjusted my light reflector to a smaller size to fit my handle bars. Didn't question me why I wanted to returned the white cat water bottle holder. (They were sold out of the black cat and found it somewhere else.) I had is the BEST customer service from both of them -Team work makes the dream work and those two need a raise! I am often at this REI trying to find outdoor gear and supplies…read more I think I have figured out the layout of this place now so I know which sections to head to for my needs. Just also know that all their bike stuff is located in another building, so dont be disappointed. Its cool to have another building just for bikes and bike related gear. This REI also has a lightly used section. I do go and check out whats on offer there, but so far haven't found anything that works. The thing with REI is that you have to want the thing thats carried in the store and nowadays with so many options, REI won't always carry I what I need specifically... Case in point, cavers need specialized equipment as our needs are different than say climbers or canyoneerers. Yes, some things might be shared, but in general, cavers have very special needs. But, today, when I came in here, I did find a quick link I needed so that worked out nicely. I am also a runner and finally decided I need a fanny pack (I hate how the 80s and 90s ruined this item for me), so I also got one that was small enough that would be perfect for my runs. Service is always great here, very friendly and staff always trying to help. I like also that this REI has a community board in the back and I like to check out whats on offer locally. Really wonderful to have this REI here in Kearny Mesa, super convenient and I can go Asian grocery shopping right after! Win win!

I stopped in at 4pm on Thursday afternoon & I was immediately greeted & helped by a nice employee. He quickly ascertained that he could buy one wetsuit & the weights, but the other wetsuit was a little too vintage for him to buy. I opted to donate it with him. After a quick check of my ID & a confirmation that I wanted cash, the process was complete & I walked out with cash in hand in less than 15 minutes. When I first moved to PB ten years ago, we bought beach cruisers here, as they have an interesting and varied selection of bikes that are well-priced.
