My husband and I were shopping for Hoka's. They had a pretty small selection. They did have my husband's size but not many colors to choose from. They had none in my size and only one color available. I won't look for athletic shoes again at Dick's. Regarding service, they brought the men's shoe out right away. I popped into the store today to buy a couple of accessories for my Stanley 40 oz. cup. I've been in this store quite a few times and they typically have a HUGE selection of Stanley, Yeti, Owala, and Hydroflask drinking vessels in addition to other brands. Today as I browsed around, I noted that the store was overwhelmed with World Cup gear which is cool, but the merchandise that I saw, including Jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, etc., was really crowded and disorganized and it looked like the Tasmanian Devil had whirled himself through it. The aisles were also impossibly packed with stuff, and it made passing other customers an obstacle course. Anyway, I also walked past the flip-flops with the intention of possibly purchasing a new pair for the summer. Leather Olukais were almost $90, simple Havaianas were over $40, and plastic Birks were $50. Needless to say, I didn't buy any... I'll stick with my beloved & comfy Reefs that I bought last summer. Finally, I walked over the water bottles... There was one type of Stanley straws available and they were $11.25. I looked online and the same straws were originally priced at $15 , but were on sale for $9. There were no Stanley "boots" in the store, so I couldn't get one of those. They had some made by another brand, and a few Owala ones, but none of the colors worked with my tumbler. So I just decided to get the straws. I asked the cashier if they honor online prices, and she said they did which I appreciated. She looked at my phone and said, "oh these other straws are the ones that are on sale." I said, "these straws (in my hand) are the only ones that you have in the store." And then she agreed to give me the discount... Keep in mind that the prices of the same item were different online vs. in store, and then the higher priced straws were discounted even further. Buyer beware... I left the store with my straws in hand, and a burning desire not to return to this store again, unless I absolutely have to, as the shopping experience was mediocre in my opinion. Mahalo! read more

Went in today to get some baseball gloves broken in for my nephews. I didn't get the initial employee who helped me. But he was great as well. Rick took over and he shared awesome stories. I like how the in-house gym market is growing to include an ice pod & your own sauna box. These things are epic cool and small enough that you can put them in yo tiny SD pad. Customer service is scarce and rando, some are happy workers while others were not so cool and a bit annoying. Good thing we allll gots the internet to be our #1 CS. read more

Krystal is not a happy representative. Customer service is lacking. Her attitude for no reason is just very unappealing. Krystal was unpleasant to deal with - she was one of 2 cashiers behind the counter when asked which register to go to she seems bothered and blew me off. Mind you I have 4 Yetis I'm buying and Gatorade. I'm thinking about going shopping elsewhere and returning the items I purchased mainly because of her poor disposition and attitude for nothing she just doesn't want to be there. I purchases my 4 gets 1/2 gallon water and it was $300 and she expected me to juggle those and the two Gatorade powders to my vehicle. I asked about a bag she replied in the most rude way not that will fit your purchase. Well then give me two bags she placed a bag on the counter like here and I simply placed 4 of 6 items in. It worked just great thanked her for her help and let her know she was a big help. I'm writing this in the parking lot going to give these away as prizes but thinking of shopping somewhere else and returning these. Krystal needs to be retrained on customer service and needs to have her attitude adjusted. If I see her working again I'll walk out mind you I purchase a majority of my sport equipment from Dicks so I'll have to find another one to give my business. DICK'S SPORTING GOODS is one of the stores where we get our NORTH FACE clothes and thats mostly the reason I come here. But recently I was here often for a whole week. Not for clothes this time, but for their STANLEY products. My husband uses Stanley cups and I never pay attention to it. But I accidentally broke my husband's Stanley cup cover, so I went to Dick's right away to look for a replacement and Wow, when I went to their Stanley aisle I saw a beautiful colorful WALL of Stanley cups! I bought one for myself and tried to put my drinks in it and the Stanley cups really keep drinks cold or hot for hours. Within a 1 week I bought 10 Stanley Cups, and a few of them I got from Target, but DICK'S SPORTING GOODS has the largest selection when it comes to Stanley cups and colors. I mostly get the 40oz cup for $45.00 each, plus tax. They come in different sizes and styles, it's your choice on which one your hand is comfortable holding I also tried Dick's Sporting Goods' "Pick up in store". I ordered them online and it was available for pick up within 2 hours. I ordered a Stanley Classic Vacuum bottle that holds Hot drinks for 38 HOURS, cold drinks for 35 HOURS, and keeps ICE for 6 days. When I came to retrieve my order from Dick's, it was nicely packed and handled with care. But the only problem i encountered is i cant find any employees around when i needed help to reach a cup on the wall , the only one i saw was at the Cashier area . read more

This location does have a nice setup but lacks variety and customer service. I went had a few pairs of pants I wanted to try on... all but 1 dressing room was functional. I was waiting over 20min in line for the dressing room when I asked an associate to please get her manager because I wanted to find out what the issue was. The young lady giggled as she called her manager over on her little headset When the manager came he told me that people have been breaking locks and that they were waiting for the locksmith to repair. LOOK that is not my problem.... These people waited until the situation got bad then when they were down to one fitting room they decided to call the locksmith... awful. Where are the employees? We came on a trip and saw there was a Dicks here and my husband wanted to see if they had Sand Diego soccer jerseys. We couldn't find an employee to help and when we did he rolled his eyes at my husband and shook his head to say no before my husband finished his question and began to walk off while talking a sip of his drink. The location at 11690 Carmel Mountain Road ( Carmel Mountain Plaza) was a disappointment with respect to bad customer service. I bought a soccer ball there for my daughter and the air stem was incompatible with my pump, so I went to return it and Roger and the high school girl at the checkout counter argued with me for 20 minutes and said they wouldn't take it back. It was brand new and in the box and I had my receipt and only purchased a couple weeks ago. I just went to the Dicks on Auto Park Way and the cashier took like 30 seconds and returned it. My daughter is young and we would have most likely spent thousands of dollars there over the next few years as she is young and loves sports, but I will never go back to the Carmel Mountain Plaza location again because of the bad experience. read more

My review is solely in regard to a bike purchase and assembly. Purchase itself was online and had sent to my residence, that part went decent enough. My complaint comes on the assembly and pick-up. I noticed the frame had some paint scuffing, and on my ride back noticed there is an inch or so of play in the shift lever before it engages changing gears. I followed up online with customer service and found out they only offer a 24hr inspection period after product arrives to return/exchange. Now they're referring me to the manufacturer, to which I'll assume they toss the hot potato back to Dicks, meanwhile me the customer is in between this. Not pleased with this experience having to find ways to fix this brand new bike, and will be taking sporting goods business elsewhere from here on out read more

We found a consultant who went looking for it said they couldn't find it and didn't have any explanation. He said yes ""he has it" and he would put it behind register 5. We drive all the way across town, and there is no three legged seat @ register 5 Ken happened to be the greeter at the door & said he put it there. it took over 15 minutes for them to search the store and find it. Fortunately, they found it in the back of store & they apologized, but what a fiasco when all the work was done by me! Well organized, clean, stocked sporting goods store. This is 1 of my favorite Dicks locations due to the inventory availability and product selection. I prefer Dicks sporting goods over Big 5 because of selection, brand products but most importantly they price match. I also shop at the Terra nova location in Chula Vista location but it's not as stocked as this location. This particular store Is continually stocked and offer a vast variety of Battle, Under Armor and Nike football products. Staff here is friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Price Match!!! Worst place for Customer Service to purchase at checkout. August in Shoe department was very friendly, interactive and great with helping us find the right indoor soccer shoes for our daughter and made sure we were happy with our choice. The whole process of him finding the right shoe and size as well as fitting to less than 10 minutes. I wish I could say the same when we went to purchase the shoes. First issue, there were a total of 5 or 6 people at registers but only two were helping customers. Line was building up and we waited about 10 minutes till someone called to ring us up. There was a young girl at one of the checkouts but she pretended she didn't notice any of customers in line. Then, we went to Jacob at register 2 and he was not happy at all. Looked and sounded like he was forced to ring us up. Extremely unfriendly. Even my 11 year old daughter made a comment as soon as we walked out of the store about his service. So as I got here There was plenty of Parking and it is located near Ralph's Grocery store !! Plus they got an pretty good selection of shoes here also !! As I was walking around I was asked if I needed help and the young lady working was helpful and answered all my questions !! But overall it's probably one of the few Sports Stores left Standing and If you get there Rewards Card you can earn points while you shop also !! It's an win win situation !! Plus getting there app is helpful also !! So I do suggest doing so !! But it's another one of my favorites stores and I can see myself coming back to see what they got !! First visit. Never again. Never. I stopped in to look at their bicycle department, which contains a very limited selection of Mystery Brand X goods. But I wasn't expecting much more, so I was pleased to find a bike lock, which wasn't what I came in for, but I needed one. Fair enough. Then I couldn't figure out the price, because everything in that display section was hanging from the wrong hook. So I go to buy it anyway, but the display hooks are all locked. And the one guy working the section has been ten minutes with a customer he, in the end, couldn't help with a tire. I'm standing around trying to be patient and understanding, but he never gives me a single glance. So I have to walk all the way from the back to the front of the store, to get a cashier to get someone else to unlock the display. The woman who assisted me is nice enough but has evidently so little enthusiasm for working at Dick's that she missed me indicating which lock I wanted. So we stand around another 5 minutes, she thinking I'm still making up my mind, and me thinking she's waiting for someone else needed to actually unlock the display holding "my lock" prisoner. Eventually, the lock was liberated. I don't hold any of the rather young staff at Dick's responsible. They are doubtless underpaid and definitely sub-zero inspired. They were friendly enough as people, though just going through the motions as staff. This is on DIck's management. They are clearly cutting corners -- meaning quantity and quality of staff -- to complete with online sales. But in the process they are losing brick and mortar sales, because people don't come to physical stores to look at locked products and be ignored. read more

They are nicely-nice when you buy something, but cold and mean when you return it. Specificall, I returned a $80 wetsuit in less than two months from purchase. It was returned because glued reinforcers at seams were peeling off. Sales guy acknowledged that the suit was not put together correctly. The dude would only give me store credit even though I gave him the credit card statement showing date of purchase. I had no receipt. Went into this store today and firstly I was racially profiled by the security guard that mad dogged me as I walked into the store. I shopped around for about 15mins then proceeded to the checkout with a Ping Pong Paddle. It was labeled as $21.99+tax at the checkout register they rang up the paddle for $89.00. I informed them that the paddle must be labeled wrong because they're in a stack labeled $21.99. The store manager Matt basically accused me of moving the item or the sticker when I asked him to honor the price. I even offered to pay more than double the labeled sticker price and I was refused. Basically told me he'd take off the tax that's about it. I'm very disappointed in the treatment I received at this Dicks Sporting goods.
