Paddle boarding
Zahraa Z.

I've been coming to Aqua Adventures for years, and it's always a 10/10 experience! The staff here are beyond friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about making sure you have a great time on the water. Whether you're a beginner or a regular, they treat you like family. They also allow furry friends!!!! The location is unbeatable -- calm, scenic, and full of life. You always see seals while paddling! It's always a peaceful but social vibe out there -- lots of interactive people, everyone just enjoying the water and the moment. The equipment is in great condition, and they always make sure you're set up and ready to go. Aqua Adventures has become a go-to spot for me and my friends, and I couldn't recommend it more. If you're looking to paddleboard in San Diego, this is the place!

They are so patient and explain everything to you! Great prices for the rentals! We had a great time on the tandem kayaks and saw seals and seagulls!

We had a great first experience at Aqua Adventures. After seeing that they were pet friendly, I made the reservation online for a 90 minute tandem kayak session. It was easy to use the website, book and pay for the reservation. When we got there it was crowded so I was happy I made an online reservation. The staff was friendly and helpful. I told the lady that we had a reactive dog and she said she can meet me away from the crowd after I check in. She also gave us a heads up that they do not validate parking and we can park in the dirt lot across the street which saved me $10! After getting to the dock the gentleman there was very helpful. He was able to get both my partner and I on the kayak as well as our scared pup! He was great and professional. There was a large selection of rentals but I am happy we choose the kayak. It was fun to navigate around the bay and we got a workout in. For just $35 we were able to get the kayak rental, life vests and a life vest for our pup. We will def be back!

The rental process was very easy online. We arrived at about 10am on Labor Day and there was tons of street parking. Every employee we interacted with was very nice and accommodating. The bay is very large and we had plenty of room to kayak around. The fact they allow dogs is also a huge plus.

My second time using aqua adventures and both times I've been exceptional. on Saturday we rented paddle boards, but it was so windy that we were not able to make any progress out of the bay. We came back and asked for tandem kayaks. They were offered to us at no additional charge. Hayden was very helpful and accommodating. I recommend bringing your own dry bag with snacks and drinks. You can even up to the beach by Tidal, bar and restaurant and get an appetizer or drink.

We shared great times, celebrating a friend's birthday while spending time in SD. If you have or haven't kayak before, you will love it. Just spend enough time adjusting to the motions and the way a kayak works. Once you do, you will love the exercise, the views, the sights, and the memories. The staff were very friendly and helpful and informative. This particular area and Bay inlet I have never been before, but as long as you get your bearings and adjust, you will be on your way like I did. Just, please remember to be kind to the ocean and the local areas. Enjoy!

This is a hidden gem in San Diego. For $30 you can rent a tandem kayak for 90 minutes. You can't stay home for 90 minutes without spending more than $30! Best deal in town. The people who work here are super chill, and seem to really enjoy their work, the water, the general beach vibe. It is contagious. They treat guests like friends not just random customers. I bring my 5-year-old daughter who loves kayaking, and they all address her with respect and kindness, never dismissive or talking down to her because she is little. I think she admires them and may someday want to work there too! As a Dad, what more can you ask for! We support this local business whenever we have a chance. You should too!

Dirt lot across the street for free parking

Great place to rent a kayak and go out on the bay. Husband and I made reservations online and got a tandem kayak. Getting there was easy and parking is free on the dirt lot across the street. Once we checked in, we were led toward the dock and a guy helped us get on the kayak (we were also helped in getting off when we were done) We enjoyed our time bobbing around like floating apples then finally moving once we got the hang of it lol. Lots of beautiful sea lions, pelicans and other birds here, so be mindful not to disturb them! It was my first time kayaking so I didn't want to go anywhere wild since I'm inexperienced. I was glad that this bay was kind of small, but do be warned (ESPECIALLY if you're a beginner) there are a lot of boats here! So keep a watchful eye for your safety

We really enjoyed the young woman that waited on us today she was very informative asked if we had kayak before in this particular area. My son has fished here and he owns a two-man kayak himself. Honestly, it's much easier to rent one then put one on top of your truck and that's what we did. The guys out on the dock we're very kind and gentle and helped me sit on the deck lay sideways and get into the kayak. I had no idea that it was going to be like this. I had to have two guys help me get out. They were very sweet and gentle. I know if you were out of Lake it would be completely different but this is not a lake. This is the Bay that is so windy we actually only stayed out from 40 minutes. Very happy that my son was doing all the rowing. Well, just one more thing I can cross off of my Life List. It was a perfect day to go out as weather was wonderful we were really surprised it was cooler than what the weatherman had said. This is definitely a local spot and a lot of really nice Yachts are docked here. The cost was $33 for 2 hours or it might have been two and a half.

Dog friendly kayaking.

Highly recommend doing this when in San Diego, especially if you have a dog. I absolutely love that it's dog friendly here! While you can make reservations online, they also offer walk-ins, which we did for the last time at 3pm. Even though they close at 5pm, the last kayak goes out by 3pm. Upon arrival, I was instructed to sign a waiver through their QR code on your phone. It was quick and easy. Soon enough, we were all suited up with our life jackets, paddles and onto the kayaks. Yes, they even offer life jackets for your dogs. For 1.5hours, it's $25 for a double kayak. It's such a fun experience! They also offer other water activities as well, so options for all.

Proof that I booked a Tandem since the woman didn't seem to believe me based on her tone.

Today as I browsed around, I noted that the store was overwhelmed with World Cup gear which is cool, but the merchandise that I saw, including Jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, etc., was really crowded and disorganized and it looked like the Tasmanian Devil had whirled himself through it. The aisles were also impossibly packed with stuff, and it made passing other customers an obstacle course. Anyway, I also walked past the flip-flops with the intention of possibly purchasing a new pair for the summer. Leather Olukais were almost $90, simple Havaianas were over $40, and plastic Birks were $50. Needless to say, I didn't buy any... I'll stick with my beloved & comfy Reefs that I bought last summer. Finally, I walked over the water bottles... There was one type of Stanley straws available and they were $11.25. I looked online and the same straws were originally priced at $15 , but were on sale for $9. There were no Stanley "boots" in the store, so I couldn't get one of those. They had some made by another brand, and a few Owala ones, but none of the colors worked with my tumbler. So I just decided to get the straws. I asked the cashier if they honor online prices, and she said they did which I appreciated. She looked at my phone and said, "oh these other straws are the ones that are on sale." I said, "these straws (in my hand) are the only ones that you have in the store." And then she agreed to give me the discount... Keep in mind that the prices of the same item were different online vs. in store, and then the higher priced straws were discounted even further. Buyer beware... I left the store with my straws in hand, and a burning desire not to return to this store again, unless I absolutely have to, as the shopping experience was mediocre in my opinion. Mahalo!
