If I was reviewing the work product alone I would increase my score to maybe 3-4 stars - the…read moregeneral design was beautiful and almost represented what we wanted. There were, however, some avoidable flaws that we now have to live with forever, in addition to repairs and issues with the owner so all together that deserves the lowest rating to serve as a warning. For context, this was a $300k Pool Project (overall) with over $200k of that going to OLG. OLG subs out the pool construction to a pool builder which is fine but he doesnt communicate or coordinate well with anyone which is where the problems come in. The pool contractor never reviewed the design that OLG came up with so we got stuck with a hot tub that was too big and a pool that was too small (both things we asked about before digging and were dismissed), no lighting under/inside the waterfall and a 6" slope on our patio which means our lounge chairs now lay at a reverse angle when flat which essentially means we can't lay them flat - all disappointing details that we have to live with. Additionally, we suffered through repairing a major leak twice just a few weeks after we finally opened the pool. I might add that we had to point out that we thought we had a leak. The grotto/waterfall had not been waterproofed properly - collaboration with the pool contractor could have avoided this but the owner of OLG thinks he already knows everything so he's not likely to collaborate. The first repair wasn't sufficient and so a second effort was needed. After more than a yearlong process, we lost much of the first summer and had to cancel two events at our home due to the leaks and having to drain the pool. We also asked to have lights added under the grotto/waterfall and that has been a nightmare that never ends and they finally told us they were done and wouldn't come back, even though the last installation of replacements (that we hope will last this time) we're not installed properly. We were overly patient with their process to replace the bad lights and now that puts us outside their warranty period so we are on our own. I understand they are tired of coming back and want to move on but it's not our fault that their initial workaround didn't hold up (or that we had leaks, etc.) Were it not for the arrogant and condescending attitude of the owner, we would have easily gotten over honest mistakes but anyone looking to hire OLG should simply be aware that while the owner presents himself as being a very organized and professional businessman, which does show well initially compared to many contractors, there is an arrogant and condescending underside to his professionalism and I found that came out rather quickly. And once it did, he wrote us off. Thankfully the foreman at the time was a great person and very competent (he has since left the company) so we were always able to work well with the on-site team. The owner never talked to us again and never even visited the completed job site to walk through the final outcome with us. This spoke volumes to us in the end. He missed out on an extra $80k in landscaping as we had originally planned to implement his design for the front/side yards and our front gate area. I was not willing to give him any more business at the end of the pool job. Unfortunately you need to consider the owner and his personality as part of your overall consideration when choosing a landscape or pool company. I'm sure there are customers who have had a good experience and for the right (landscaping only) job you might get out without any problems, but based on our overall experience, I would NOT recommend OLG at all, and especially not if you are building a pool. Good luck!

My project included planting sod in my backyard, building a grill station, a patio, landing deck, two raised garden beds, installing a gravel driveway, a privacy fence, and planting native plants around my front and side yards. The project manager (Ray) took the time to understand what I wanted and worked with me to come up with a creative design that fit my budget. They completed the project pretty much on schedule and with no surprises on the cost. It was not cheap but everything looked great. It has been a year and I am generally still pleased with the quality of the work. I have lost a few plants which they would not replace without an extra charge but everything still looks good. I would use them again.

We were very happy with the results and found Georgia Oak to be very easy to work with, responsive and attentive to detail. Highly recommend. After talking with several other companies that came out to look at our project and then having to chase them for an estimate, we decided to keep looking for a company that would be more responsive and easier to work with. We found Georgia Oak on Angie (previously Angie's List). We did further due diligence by looking at the reviews on Angie, Yelp and Google as well as checking reviews and complaint history on the Better Business Bureau. They seemed to have an impeccable reputation. So, we decided to have them give us an estimate despite being the only company that charged us a small fee for giving an estimate. That charge is deducted off the project cost if you use them. Brandon showed up on time and gave us the estimate right on the spot which was a pleasant surprise. It was also a firm fixed price estimate. We were satisfied with their price and quickly made the decision to proceed. They handled submitting the building permit and the inspections. In our case, we needed a survey and engineering drawings which they also coordinated. The entire process was very smooth. They scheduled our project in a timely manner. Carolina, Candido and the entire crew were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They were quite flexible to adjust design details along the way without any talk of additional cost. The only additional cost that we paid was when we made the wall a good bit longer than originally planned, which is only reasonable. In summary, Georgia Oak does what they say they are going to do. They show up when they say they will. They do good quality work and are very easy to work with. They coordinated the entire process including permitting, engineering and surveying. I realize that charging for an estimate may deter some folks from using them, but I'm glad that we didn't let that stop us. I have a retaining wall on my personal property that will need replacing soon. Georgia Oak will be my first call.

This company charges $35 to give an estimate, but the fee was subtracted from the initial deposit when I decided to hire the company. Very highly recommended.

We were excited to use Pablo's Landscaping because of other reviews and only needing one company to…read moregrade and sod our backyard, replace our fence, replace our deck, build a retaining wall, and build a fire pit. That excitement was short lived. General observations: * Scattered scheduling- started our project and would not return for days at a time due to being at a different job site. ⁃ Guys wouldn't show up when we were told they would. When we asked about it, the response would be "what do you mean they didn't show up?" * Lack of respect for property- nails and trash left EVERYWHERE. ⁃ Crew would use a leaf blower to blow non biodegradable trash off the patio and into the grass instead of pick it up. ⁃ Metal fence posts were discarded in the back of our yard instead of being thrown in the dumpster we paid for. ⁃ Used our 2x4s that were purchased separately for a different project without asking or letting us know. ⁃ Crew drove onto our grass and left tire tracks in the front yard. * Lack of communication- wouldn't tell us upfront that he wouldn't be back the following day to finish work, we had to reach out and ask. ⁃ A section of our fence was not attractive and nothing was communicated to us about how it would look. When we brought this up Pablo said "well, I didn't think it was a big deal since it's in the back of the yard by the woods." However, he worked with us on this issue and had it corrected. ⁃ Most of the additional labor and material costs wasn't told to us until after the final payment was due. The deck: * Flashing was not installed prior to deck boards, they were stuck in only after we had noticed it wasn't completed. * 2x4s were installed upside down on railing and is now warping. * A bracket is missing on one side of the rafters * The concrete pad at the base of the stairs was roughly done, one edge is 21" away from the step and the other side is 22.5" away from the step. Was told this would be corrected with a finishing layer of concrete, however, this was never done. The fence: * Posts are leaning and not level * Warped 2x4s were used causing the fence panels to warp * The gate towards the back of the yard has a big gap towards the bottom hinge due to the post leaning to the left. * Inconsistent post heights-- we were going to install caps and needed them the same height throughout. This was supposed to be addressed but never was. The retaining wall: * Installed in late March/early April and is now leaning. * There is a gap in a section of the wall which we only discovered it after we cleaned up the residual dirt. * not sure if proper drainage was installed due to the fact that we never see water come out of the drainage pipe. Grading/sod install: * Grading seemed very rushed, a lot of high and low spots as well as lumps and bumps. * Big gaps between sod pieces * Weeds sticking up between sod pieces * Some areas would puddle from watering due to inconsistent grading * The sod on the edge of our concrete line was super crooked. Fire pit: * Was never actually started or completed. We have tried numerous times to have Pablo address some of these items, the main complaint of ours was the grading and sod. A lot of our text messages or calls would go unanswered for days at a time, it reached a point that we would be lucky to receive a response. Multiple times he has told us that he would be out on "____" day to fix it but would end up being a no call or no show. Eventually we just stopped hearing back from him at all which led to Pablo just abandoned our job. Our yard was left a wreck, dirt and concrete are left all over the place, which is now up to us to clean up. As for the grading and sod, we have since hired a different crew to come fix the potholes in our backyard, and the difference is night and day. We're pretty baffled at the situation because at the end of the day we trusted Pablo with our home and investment, but what we are left with are mistakes that will need more money to correct. Overall, would not recommend.

Pablo with Pablo's landscape, Inc was contracted to grade my front yard, install an irrigation…read moresystem, and install Sod. I have a few complaints about each. The gradlinig, which I did not find out until later, is very uneven. This has caused the sod to be badly un even, so when I mow my mower creates "burn" marks where the the grading was bumpy. You can also clearly see a depressed line where the trench was dug to install the irrigation feed lines. Now for the irrigation. I had to pay a professional to come and tie the irrigation system into the water main after 4 failed attempts by Pablo and several days without water. After the company fixed the irrigation system Pablo committed, on multiple occasions, to return to adjust the irrigation system so it waters the entire yard. He has never showed up, has not responded to multiple phone calls, emails, and text since. He also did not respond to my initial complaint through BBBs complaint system. Pablo is not a man of his word, is highly disorganized, and I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your landscaping needs.
