They have an amazing set up here-- not only does the team at Whittington Bridal work like a well oiled machine, a bride to be could really have a fun time! I came to browse a sample sale (dresses that weren't going to make it to their collection next season are sold for about half the price, sold as is / no alterations) where the entire building was bustling with tons of brides, family, and swishing dresses, but you can book a traditional appointment where one can enjoy a more relaxed and private experience. Their stock of dresses is quite large, as it took a while to just walk around all the rooms with the dresses before pulling them off the rack to look. The sample sale appointment is one hour, and I walked out with my wedding dress at the end of it! For the sample sale, we met with the bridal consultant (Victoria was amazing!) and then I received 5 clothes pins to mark which dresses I was interested while I made a walk through the dress area. She pulled those dresses, brought them to our designated fitting area (there's a sofa for family or friends to sit and watch), and helped me into the dresses. Since the sample sale didn't have my exact size, she used clips to cinch the excess fabric in the back, and that worked well to see what the dress would look like if tailored to my size. You can do as many rounds as you like as time permits. Once I chose the dress, the part that really brought it together for me was putting on a veil :) When checking out, they gave a list of recommended tailors, and luckily some of them are in the loop! The staff here were all very friendly and enthusiastic. Victoria was my amazing bridal consultant; she was friendly, encouraging, patient, and not pushy at all. She was easy to talk to and really made the experience amazing! Ashley was tagging along with Victoria and gave some helpful opinions about dress styles, and the other consultants walking by would cheer. The only thing I would dock a star for would be that I had some questions to ask Victoria after she left to meet her next appointment, and the front desk team told me she would ask Victoria to call me back. I never got a call and had to call twice to ask for her to contact me (by the time she texted me, it was several days later, and I'm pretty sure she forgot who I was / what dress details I had questions about). Overall, a happy place! They even have a metal lock you can personalize and add to their growing collection of successful dress matches + a floral backdrop to take photos. I imagine personalized appointments are a lot slower paced and relaxed. Be sure to bring your strapless bra and skin colored undies to your appointment! I just got out of my dress appointment. These people, specifically the manager, are so dishonest. They had a Maggie Sotero Trunk Show and the dresses were so beautiful--I literally found my dress. They told me that the $300 off promotion for the trunk show would last through the weekend (Saturday). So of course, the manager said she could hold it for Friday for my mom to come in person to see it. Suddenly, they switched up on what they said and told me the $300 promotion is only for the first bridal appointment and they cannot hold it. I confronted the manager, and asked her why she was dishonest and inconsistent. She had no words. I took off the dress and left. I will never do business with dishonest people, and this store and their employees were definitely just that. At least I found my dress, hopefully I'll encounter a bridal shop that can order it for me. read more

My appointment was at the end of February, my veil came in March, and my dress came in at the end of June. Pretty gowns but was disappointed with the experience itself. The girl helping me didn't really help with giving options as far as adding sleeves, etc. I loved a dress there but wanted to take a day to make sure it's what I 100% wanted and it felt like that wasn't an option which made it super uncomfortable. The girl helping was kinda rude to the people i was with that left a bad taste in my mouth so i ended up going somewhere else for my dress. She also spoke poorly about people in the other area about being too loud which was kinda awkward. I spoke to a couple people that also went here and they stated they felt the same way and that's the experience many people feel. Overall would not recommend. I think there are better options in Houston and more welcoming atmosphere as well. read more

I had been to at least 5-6 other bridal salons in the Houston area and wasn't impressed at all, but when I came to Whittington I knew I was in the right place. I came to try on a very specific gown (Albany by Maggie Sottero) and instantly both me and my stylist knew it was the one! It was my second appointment of the day, but I was really set on trying a certain designer Whittington has--even though it felt like I found the one already I tried on about 5 dresses, and they were lovely, but I just kept comparing them to the last one I tried at the previous place. Nina agreed that it sounded like I found my dress, and handled the whole situation very professionally and gracefully My only critique about the store is that I wish there had been more plus size samples available to try. The most gorgeous dresses! Wow. Even walking past the window is hard to not get curious and see what else they have in there! We went in for my best friend's wedding dress consultation and our coordinator was SOO helpful! She was very experienced as she told us to pick out any four dresses that stand out to begin with and that would help giver her an idea of what my friend was going for and she'd know where to find similar dresses. This process definitely made the search way less overwhelming. They also had delicious small cake(?) bites with pink mimosas. When you think of the wedding dress shopping experience, you want all the support and attention you can get plus some alcohol included? Heck yeah. Whittington is known to have over a 90% success rate in brides saying yes to their dresses. I can totally see this happening as even my friend said yes after dress number 4! The only thing personally I wish would have been different, was their lack of ballgown styled dresses. But I'll worry about that when it's my turn read more

My fiancé went in few months ago with Jordan (Sales Manager) to pick her dress which was ~$3000 because she had to pay for it to be rushed in, then during the consultation/when she picked the dress they told me they will do the alterations for it when it gets there. Picked it up today and it fit her 4 sizes too big because they insisted that she needed to go up because of her hips. So now we have to go somewhere else with the $3000 dress and pay $1000+ more just to do the alterations that need to be done so it can actually fit her for out wedding day. She left the place in tears and she already has enough stress planning the wedding now she has to deal with the stress that this unreliable company not catering to their customers properly. read more

I was at Whittington bridal on Thursday, September 23, 2023 for wedding dress shopping for my future daughter-in-law. My son surprised his future wife by having her mom and sisters, my sister and niece and me fly in for her birthday as well as surprise wedding dress shopping. He had made arrangements at two different bridal stores. I sure am happy that the first appointment was Whittington Bridal! I could tell by the initial confirmation emails that were sent to my son and passed along to me that there was a vast difference in professionalism and Customer Service. Whittington bridal clearly explained what the appointment experience would look like and what to expect... Including mimosas! The other bridal shop simply stated the appointment time. After beginning the appointment at Whittington's with the personal stylist, Jordan, we received a message from the other bridal shop saying they wanted to change our appointment time. After trying to reach them several times with no answer we decided to cancel that appointment. Jordan took great care and listened to what Sara, my future daughter-in-law, was expressing in her desire for a wedding dress. Jordan was attentive, kind, and caring. I booked several appointments for the Saturday that I went looking for dresses. My first appointment was at Whittington Bridal, I brought my mom, aunt, mother in law, niece and my MOH! They got us all mimosas to start the morning, they gave me four clips to select my dress. I had no idea what I wanted. Kendall was amazing, she was so personally and knew exactly what I wanted with what little description I gave her.
