It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

I brought in an old Craftsman snowblower from the early 1990s that needed big time attention. Chris gave me a very reasonable estimate upfront and was honest about the challenge of finding discontinued parts for a machine that's 32-33 years old. I dropped it off the day before Thanksgiving 2025 -- and naturally, a heavy snowstorm hit that weekend on a Saturday, selling out every available snowblower with an electric starter under $1,200. Chris was patient and kept the estimate open while I sourced discontinued parts from eBay (electric starter, housing, paddles, and more). We both knew it would take time, and he never rushed the process. Once all the parts arrived -- including an idler pulley that thankfully is still being made and purchased from Shorewood Home & Auto -- the team completed the repair. The snowblower now runs better than it has in at least 15 years. This wasn't my first great experience with Chris and Joe in service. About three years ago, they repaired an Echo leaf vacuum/shredder that another shop couldn't fix correctly. Their work saved me hours of raking leaves and earned my trust. And a shout‑out to Monica in parts as well -- she helped me source a new front‑wheel‑drive transmission for a 20 year‑old Craftsman lawnmower back in August 2024, which I installed myself. Steve in Sales is also helpful if you are looking for new equipment. Everyone at Shorewood Home & Auto in Homer Glen consistently delivers excellent service, honest communication, and real expertise -- especially with older equipment that many places won't touch or repair correctly. After having my RX75 in the shop for over 4 weeks and finally serviced and delivered back to me, I…read moretried starting it this morning and all I got was a few ticking noises. I Called Shorewood and explained the situation to Joe and after a few questions , He informed me that he would send Nate to my Home to check it out. Sure enough Nate arrived and began his diagnosis of the problem very systematically. and determined it was a dead battery. Nate replaced the battery and checked the system out to insure it was charging. Nate is a very personal and knowledgeable individual. Thanks to both Joe and Nate for getting my RX going.

The pieces are a little pricy, but that's understandable given that they are hand crafted. We visited early one Saturday morning and were there for at least 45 minutes. The store was crowded and there weren't enough employees present to assist waiting customers. We ended up leaving without ever talking to a store associate. We would have considered placing an order, but didn't because of of that. We ended up going to Walter E. Smithe instead and purchasing a dining room table there. Still I'd consider Rustic Elements as a possible option whenever I decide to upgrade my current furniture pieces.
