Ice cream calls for a pleasant moment of pure bliss, but that was not the case this time…read more The overall experience was a total failure: we waited for this ice cream for forever, and it was not a matter of how many people were in line but due to just one employee being in charge of prepping the ice cream and it took him literally an indescribable amount of time to prepare it. Then the texture was so off, something you would never expect from an ice cream. But the worst part was that it was literally flavourless. Definitely an experience to avoid.

Stopped on Wednesday for after 1st day of school treat. Approx 5pm…read more This year we have only had the Lil Goodie Shoppee one other time but last summer we visited approx 6 times. Learned our lesson when eating at an ice cream shop to order only ice cream. The ice cream is always perfect tasting & at a good price. This time we ordered 3 hotdogs & a pretzel. We received 1 hot dog / 1 foot long/ 1 pretzel. The pretzel was a little hard and dry. The footlong was gray outside/pink inside & the hot dog was ate by my husband before I could even ask although he said his stomach was bubbling after. I spoke with the girl at the counter about the footlong and she said she could give us a new one although I didn't want another one that could be bad as well. I just was skeptical after looking at it & tasting it. The taste was off & the color was off. I trashed it. Ice cream we ordered was great. 3 dirt sundaes for the kids & 2 twists ( chocolate & vanilla) for the adults.

They have AMAZING gluten-free and dairy-free options--even a gluten-free waffle cone, which is such a win! I love the cookie dough flavor--it is absolutely delicious, and the vegan strawberry is amazing too! Nothing there tastes artificial; everything tastes so fresh and real. The strawberry even has real pieces of strawberries in it, which makes it SO good! They're also in such a cute location where you can walk around, and there's a really nice park nearby if you want to take the kiddos. Such a fun spot for an ice cream day!

Great flavors! Across from the Summit Park playground!…read more Heading to the Summit Park playground in Blue Ash, OH, on a hot sunny day, (May 2026), we were so happy to find an ice cream shop. Even happier to find great flavors. And happier still for tasty vegan options! We had nicely minty not-green Mountain Mint in a cone, and tasty sweet lemon sorbet in a cup. And a perfectly wonderful cone of vegan mildly-coconut chip ice cream. It was all so good, we came back on a subsequent evening! Another cone of the vegan coconut chip. A cup of lightly-floral lavender vegan ice cream. And a cookies & cream cone. Street-parking right out front is time-limited for takeout. There's longer parking up and down both sides of Summit Parkway. And there's a park8n* lit and more street parking a block away on Summit Place. When you're not walking across the street to the Summit Playground, there's a handful of tables out front, and when 5hose were full, no-one minded that we sat in front if the bar next door. The flavors were all good, and the staff was friendly even at closing time :-).

You'd think as a millenial I'd be a semi-trendy person. News flash, people: I am not. One of the…read morenewer ice cream trends is flash freezing ice cream with different candies and nuts and rolling it up. I was not necessarily on this train but I was intrigued. What's the texture like? Is the taste different? There were so many questions I needed answered. Yolo Rollo is located in one of the center stalls inside Kenwood Towne Center. I ditched Auntie Anne's (big mistake because Annie is the real MVP) in lieu of trying Yolo. The concept is simple enough. Pick your flavor, one mix-in, and one topping. The downfall is that it's $6. That seems to be excessive for what you get. I decided to go for it anyhow. I chose vanilla with Oreo mix in and a brownie on top. The time it takes to create the ice cream is longer than one would think. They take the cream flavor of choice and spread it out, waiting for it to freeze up. They then add your mix in and roll it together. At the end, they add your topping and sauce of choice. The final product looks like much more than it actually is. You get multiple "rolls" of ice cream with your mix in, and a healthy portion of your topping to garnish. The flavor of the actual ice cream is awful. It tastes like what happens when you accidentally leave the lid off your ice cream before putting it back in the freezer (aka freezer burn). The mix in flavor is non-existent and the sauce (I chose caramel) that they put on top is scant. The brownies that I chose tasted like the artificial crap you find in sketchy convenience stores off the highway. I wasn't expecting a gourmet dessert, but I at least wanted something that didn't make me feel like I had just bathed in chemicals. I finished approximately six bites of my ice cream concoction before I gave up. At first I gave Yolo 3 stars because I thought it was strictly a family owned operation and I like to give locally ran businesses the benefit of the doubt. I then found out that Yolos are locally owned franchises and my guilt faded immediately. The next time I'm at the mall and want a sweet treat I'll reach for a cinnamon sugar pretzel. #yolo
