Wow what an experience I had yesterday (4/16/2024). First I went to the business and the manager…read morecame out to my car, promised me that he would drain all of the oil before adding new oil. I checked but the oil was still dark after they said they drained all the oil but they did not. They had used a power wrench to take a part off that had nothing to do with changing the oil. I asked why and the employee could not give me a satisfactory answer. When I left a lot of the oil leaked out, there was a puddle under my car. I returned and the explanation they gave me was that "things happen". I said that this is a new car and it should be easy, so why did it happen? Again there was no satisfactory answer, but the employee added 1 quart of oil and I left. It was still leaking as I was parked less than a mile away and a puddle came out under the car. This time when I went back I was mad. The manager threatened me and I raised my voice to let them know they had to fix it. After they fixed it, this time, they added 1/2 quart of oil and it stopped leaking. I am going to a third-party to have the car checked and will hold owner Joe Roberts accountable if any permanent damage is found. To be continued...

Friendly hometown service, by ASE certified mechanics!…read more I'm a local in our small town of Lenoir, and recently my breaks started squealing like they were bad. We recently purchased the vehicle used, so was unaware of the condition on the break pads. I scheduled an appointment with Rainey's automotive and dropped off the vehicle the next day. Promptly, the mechanic personally called me, and told me that my breaks were not bad, they were about 1/2 life left, but the rotors looked like they had surface damage from being too hot. He resurfaced the rotors, and it took care of the problem. The mechanic could have lied, and told me the breaks were bad, and made more money, but was honest. Honesty and integrity go a long way in my book. I will be back! It's great to have a mechanic that you can trust! It's one of the advantages of our small town :). Definitely an asset to Lenoir! Thanks guys for a job well done!

When picking up the vehicle, there was dirt & grease over the bill, the alignment results were not covered & no mention of the brake inspection. The vehicle never pulled to the right until after their "alignment". After turning around and taking it back, they worked on it again and a technician it for a test ride. while it was getting later and later, the test ride employee decided to run personal errands and was gone for 30 minutes and came back with his groceries. I was then told the car still pulled to the right and was suggested to try another Mr. Tire. The errand running technician left grease on the car and rags in the seat and forgot to give me my keys.

As a customer service-oriented person, I try to see the positive side of everything, but also know…read moreif you don't service your customer, someone else will . It stands to reason, people sometimes have an off day; however, with the most recent experience(s) I've had, with the lack of service at the Lenoir Walmart Auto Service Center, I'm very frustrated with the staff. I purchased my tires at this location and have them rotated (free of charge) every time they need it. I was having my oil changed here also until recently. My main reason for this posting is to advise others if you are looking for complete and competent, customer service, you may want to look elsewhere. When I inquired on how they handle their service appointments, it's first come, first serve. So, when walking in to get service, you're looking at a minimum wait time of 1-1/2 to 2 hours before they even begin service. I understand service takes time, but there seems to be a shortage of staff, lack of concern for the customer and things just do NOT flow smoothly. I have witnessed (on multiple occasions) a male associate taking personal phone calls while in the midst of consumers waiting for help. I originally chose Walmart because some of the independent locally owned shops have limited operating hours that do not fit my lifestyle. Since Walmart, has varying hours I thought this would be more convenient for me. However, after the most recent experiences, I'll find a way to maintain my vehicle from the independent service centers.
