They overcharged me. Dimsum was fine, but for $70 for two people and we only had about three plates each. On top of that, they charged for black tea $2 each person and we didn't ask for it. We asked for water. Ofc, I paid, but I won't be back. I originally gave him $80, but he gave our tip back saying it was too much. I wonder why

We hosted our great big Vietnamese wedding here and had the most amazing time!! The food was delicious, our friends and family are still raving about it. (I'm still dreaming about the sea bass). Also don't get me started on the dance floor. The lights and the sound system make it feel like a night club?! Excuse me, wow! Trieu and Tony were so accommodating and responsive the entire planning process. How do I get married here every weekend? Thank you Trieu and Tony for having us and making it a dream event.

This review is long overdue. This restaurant used to be my favorite go to Chinese restaurant. The dim sum at Seafood Cove2 is totally overrated and the crowd there made it very stressful so I used to come here, Seafood Paradise for dim sum in a relaxed atmosphere. In December 2023 my sister who lives in HB harbor claimed this resto was too far for her but finally decided to have a big Christmas Birthday party and invited 30, 40 people, the manager was not there and my usual server was not there either so I asked and was shocked at the news although I expected it, the new owner told me he had closed on the purchase that day and would change the name to White palace but he would keep the chef and the manager David but that was not the case. To me the best Chinese restaurants were Furiwa and Seafood Paradise. It was sad they failed to understand that w today economy dominated by social medias and if they do not follow the trend, they would be out of business, I told David the manager but he was so confused about what I was talking about. Bad restaurants that spent money on social medias thrived beyond comprehension. My sister ordered the usual wedding menu, 10 courses w lobster, steamed fish, etc..I knew immediately it was a new chef, the lobster was flavorless, almost every course was bland but many people I know have hay fever and with severe sneezing sometimes they lose their sense of taste on top of being born w less taste buds, it can be a curse to have too many taste buds as I was skinny all my life from not being able to enjoy eating till I started cruising when in the old days, cruise ship chefs were of Michelin caliber. My sister threw another big bash on Chinese/VN new year 2-10-2024, again 10 courses dinner and again everything was bland, there was not even enough salt in the food. I made no comment when asked bc everybody seemed to like it so who was I to say anything and I wanted to support the new owner, the service was great so that was a plus. I came by many times for dim sum and was disappointed the menu was limited, my favorite items were no longer offered. On 1-18-2026 my cousin had a big party, she is the Cai Luong singer and impresario, if my count was correct there were 20 tables, 200 attendants and many performers. Unfortunately for $60 to $75 pp, they could only offered 5 courses as they had to pay the performers. Needless to say, I could only eat the walnut shrimp and fried fish, the fried rice was not at all edible, what were they thinking? no salt, very little egg, I sure did not get fat!. I think 3 stars are generous as I was frustrated w the meal, I had no idea what the lead singer was singing/screaming about so loud in Saigonese! Lol! The dude was a VN version of Liberace!. I was there to keep up w long lost relatives, I sadly found out one had just died and I was not able to find out what happened bc the sound system was not functioning properly, it was blasting so loud, I was almost deaf in both ears! It was impossible to know what all the performers were saying. The manager if you read this please fix it, I have no idea how any wedding can take place w zero sound system unless it just went kaput on that one day. I'll tell my cousin to check on this before booking here again. I can't believe they also bought another restaurant on Edinger, Santa Ana, maybe it's just me but I don't like the all white chairs and table, I worked all my life in hospital and I'm not a fan of all white furniture, The old Seafood paradise had beautiful romantic looking pink flowers, table cloth and beautiful comfortable chairs. I'm glad they seem to be doing great, good for them, I'm not going back here but I plan to go to their 2nd resto. Unfortunately HB and Little Saigon do not have very good Chinese restaurants, I miss Hong Kong and all the 5 stars hotel ayce buffets in, I'm looking forward to my VN trip w all the good food unfortunately Yelp has no presence in VN. My camera always eats first, I have about 10,000 pictures of food in my IPhone from all my cruises and trips around the world, I enjoy looking and relive all my culinary experience. Pl come back for my future review of the White palace #2.

Good service, but as for food taste, I would say it's average. This used to be the Seafood World location. My parents liked the fried items as it was freshly fried. We ordered a lot of dishes to try and nothing stood out for me... hence average. They currently have a 10% off sale on Monday- Friday. We went on Prez Day and I was surprised they offered the discount. That was nice and I just increase the tip. Easy parking. Comfortable space as it is a wedding venue also.

My gf and I decided to try something new today other than Seafood Cove. I don't remember how expensive seafood cove is but white Palace is pretty expensive. We only spent $40 for five items. It was an interesting place as it was also a wedding venue at night. Pretty smart though if you ask me because at least are utilizing the morning times for dim sum Service wise was very fast there wasn't that many people and all the cart aunties came flocking in. They're all really nice though and I got to book Cantonese with him Flavor wise it was actually pretty good. We got: - Xiu Mai - Pretty solid and lots of flavor. 5/5 - Ha Cheurng / Shrimp Roll - I liked it a lot as it was a THICC BOI but my gf prefers the thinner rice rice layer. 5/5 - Cha Siu Bao / BBQ Pork Bun - 3/5 only because it was cold but filling was solid. Well air fry these later for a snack - Tripe - Standard and pretty tender! 4/5 - Shurn Jok Guurn/ Tofu Skin Wrapped thingy - It actually had a beef filling rather than a mushroom filling. 4/5 Overall, if I didn't want wait in line and I had a big party with me I wouldn't mind coming here. Parking is better than Seafood Cove madness and there are hella tables available. Bathrooms are very clean as well!

Some of the lukewarm foods

When you come on a prime Saturday morning during a holiday weekend, and there's only 4-5 occupied tables and the cart ladies loitering about, that's a red flag. We have gone to all the best dim sum places both locally in OC and the epicenter in Monterey Park. But we just wanted something local to a family menber's house a street away and there were 11 of us. Wow, the carts came out hawking their wares with a vengeance. Nothing was over cooked or mushy/oversteamed (except for the chicken feet and tofu skin pork) as other reviewers declared, but there was a lack of flavor and depth that left us wanting more. I haven't had dim sum in at least a year and would've been happy with a B. But it's a C- for me and the tables. We could barely finish what we chose. The temperature of all were definitely on the lukewarm side as if they were on the cart for quite awhile waiting for patrons. I'm sure they want events to keep their big banquet space operating, so the dim sum is an afterthought. But they need to step up their kitchen to compete with the plethora of places within driving distance. This place was not memorable and barely tolerable, especially for the price points.

White Palace also decorated the table beautifully and included the centerpiece

I got married at White Palace in April 2026 and had an exceptional experience planning my wedding with them. Kevin, Tuân, and Trieu answered all our questions clearly and helped us achieve our dream wedding. I am Vietnamese, and my husband is not, so they made accommodations to find menu items that would serve a multicultural guest list. The prices were very fair and transparent, and the 9 course menu was delicious. White Palace also decorated the restaurant for us and provided meaningful special touches like a champagne tower, special effects for the first dance, and a decorated sweetheart table. The restaurant and their staff made us feel valued and made our wedding shine. While doing wedding research, other venues had hidden charges while White Palace was all inclusive and reasonable. My only suggestion is that they should slice thinner cake slices. They sliced large slices so some of my guests did not receive cake while the guests who got cake didn't finish theirs. I would gladly recommend White Palace to anyone who is planning a wedding.

We had our wedding reception party here, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! I highly recommend this venue, the place was stunning, very clean, and elegantly decorated, complete with a beautiful flower photo backdrop. The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive to every detail. The coordinator manager, Mr. Trieu, was especially kind and patient. We had a few meetings before the party date, and I really appreciated how he took the time to help us plan everything and answer all of our questions. On our big day, the staff helped set up everything included decorations, tables, wine, gifts, and more since we didn't have time to do it ourselves. The food was delicious and even more affordable than other venues, and they provided free appetizers too! We received so many compliments about the food after the party. We were so happy and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It truly made our wedding unforgettable! Highly recommend!

This time i came here for birthday party . The restaurant is completely remodeled, it is very nice and clean. We have fried rice, fried fish with sauce, shrimp with noodles . Perking duck, Veggies with oyster sauce, fish maw soup food was good , only fish maw soup a little bit bland of flavor . The service was quick, and the staff are friendly.

Cute little dim sum place Push carts with all the essentials Quality was ok. The porridge was bland and had to ask for salt. The star dish was the sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf :) Portions were good Service was friendly Parking was not bad Overall not bad. Thanks!

Food was ok, not great and the food temp was not up to par. Most items were served already cold.

To cut a long story short, the dim sum here is overall quite solid. Other than the leek dumplings coming out very luke warm, the Turnip Cake with egg, Steamed Shrimp Balls, Shrimp Noodle Rolls, Fried Taro Balls, Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce, Pickled Cucumber, Soy Sauce Chow Mein, and Bed Chow Fun all came out very hot, fresh, and delicious! And, to finish off, we treated ourselves to some very good, hot and fresh out of the oven, egg tarts... with a nice flaky shell and smooth and silky egg custard filling, baked perfectly....yummee! And, not forgetting what I thought truly set this dim sum restaurant apart from all the others I've been to is the service.....everyone was so nice, friendly, and very attentive!.....of course, we showed up rather early and it wasn't very crowded yet. But then, we even had a nice older lady (whom I am assuming could have been the manager or owner) come to our table, and with a smile, asked us how everything was and whether we needed anything else.....Wow! I have never seen or experienced this kind of great customer care and service at any other dim sum restaurant anywhere! Glad to have finally found another great spot for some very good dim sum with great service!

I also like the house special tofu. They used to put a generous serving of the savory sauce but now they barely put any. Still, it has great flavor with jalapenos and green onions. The porridge with ground pork also used to have generous portions of the egg. Now they chop it into tiny bits and there's barely any. I still enjoy it as a type of comforting breakfast item. They also used to provide plenty of condiments like chilli oil for the to go orders. Now you have to pay for those as extras. It is a great place for dim sum. However the weekends get very crowded after 11:30am which is why I always order ahead of time to go. Parking can be a pain and the spaces quickly fill up because there are a lot of other restaurants and a supermarket nearby.

It's a very nice restaurant and the Cantonese style food is always excellent in every way. Last few weeks coming here with some friends and we ordered some excellent dishes and the taste was as delicious as before. The prices are extremely reasonable. The wor wonton soup that I like with plenty of shrimps and tasty wontons, excellent meal starter. The salt and pepper prawns are crunchy that we could chew the shells. The garlic vegetable is very tasty which everyone like. Kun-pow chicken, stir fried clams, mongolian beef, shredded port in garlic sauce all perfectly seasoned and cooked. The service here is very attentive and pleasant. We had a great meal together and everyone was happy and full, we had some to take home too. This is called the classic Cantonese Restaurant for me, always consistent with quality and tastes. Glad that we came here.

Eventually the owner came over to check on us and we got everything we wanted. Although they had ran out of quite a few items we wanted. We also wanted to order veggies but no one asked. I also asked for more mustard and the lady said okay and went hudini on me. What I did like was their congee, shu mai, spare rib, and fried shrimp paste. The people I came with enjoyed the soup dumplings. The little fried fish were also pretty good. The rest were okay. Everything came out hot which was nice. We also got some drinks and the lady was nice enough to run to the back to get us a new one instead of the ones they had sitting out. The restaurant was very noisy even with us in the corner. You can hear what was happening outside too. Parking was very hard on Labor day and I had to park on the street. That plaza has gotten super busy.

The service was great. They gave us plastic utensils for the kids. And also cups for the kids (styrofoam cups since the kids are messy and tend to drop things) Overall, it's a bit dirty. There are SO many dim sum places in OC to choose from but I heard this place changed…read moreownership/name(?) and I wanted to try it out so I took my mom here. There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. We tried the classic dim sum dishes. The shumai was a bit dry for me but was still overall pretty good. The rice rolls with shrimp had a very good sauce and it was super addicting! The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I'd definitely come back because this is a lot better experience compared to waiting hours for some of the places in OC.

Subpar. My family…read moreand I stopped by after hearing the place is under new management. We were hoping that the quality and taste of the dim sum dishes had improved, but there didn't seem to be any significant change. We got our usual items like the chicken feet and xiu mai, but there was still that weird aftertaste from the MSG. Another huge red flag was that they don't offer a menu or price display, so you don't really know how much any of the items on the dim sum carts cost until after they stamp your ticket, which is already too late. * Siu Mai: 7/10 - nice size and portion but unusual aftertaste * Chicken Feet: 6/10 - flavor was a bit salty * Shrimp Rice Rolls: 9/10 - tasty and sauce was light * Salt and Pepper Fried Calamari: 10/10 - awesome portion and perfect texture * Tofu Skins: 7/10 - texture was kind of too soggy * Fried Rice Cake: 6/10 - sort of undercooked The service was quite disappointing too, as it was difficult to get any of the workers' attention. We also asked for an order of calamari, but were told to wait as they were cooking more. When they finally had 4 plates ready, they placed them on the cart instead of giving a plate directly to us, so they ran out before the cart even landed on us. It was sort of annoying considering how we asked and basically ordered one beforehand. They're located in a fairly small plaza, but there's a good amount of parking in the back. The interior is very spacious with plenty of tables and seating. The workers weren't very welcoming or friendly either, but that's pretty standard. Not terrible, but I don't know if we'll be coming back anytime soon.
