For some reason, the whole vibe of this place reminded me of PNW style like from the show Here and Now on HBO. Like whatever therapist I find here - I want their office to have this same vibe. I really liked it. I'm new to Denver and I have been here a few times for the herbal heat pack therapy with Aundrea Delgado. It was a new type of massage therapy for me and it was so amazing. It felt like someone was dressing wounds all over me or something. It was some psychological feeling of care. It was so cool. Very different. I am loving all of these unique types of services that I had not seen while living in Los Angeles. I would say that this type of herbal heat pack therapy is great for a self-care nice treat but if you are having specific soreness or need some deeper massage, you would probably want a different type of massage. I really liked this massage though. So unique. I like their earring merch. I got a pair of "must-have" (in my mind) earrings there while I was visiting before moving here. When a massage therapist misbelieves that she outranks a neurologist & the client paying her, there's a huge boundaries violation. Tonight was supposed to be a relaxation celebration, culminating 5-years of hell, that is finally over. Instead? Angelina ruined my milestone, sabotaging it unprofessionally. I specifically emailed her on both Thursday & Sunday, to avoid the *EXACT* scenario that played out tonight, that she could've prevented, if Angelina was trained to be a professional massage therapist, not use our session/my 90-minutes, for which I paid, as *HER* therapy session, to talk about *HER* feelings, when I simply wanted the massage, for which I invested time/$. In fact, I've come to the conclusion that the entire time-boxed model of massages here may, in fact, be the problem. You pay for a 90-minute massage, but you don't get a 90-minute massage. Instead, the allocated time includes a chit-chat period, both before & after the massage, where you're supposed to describe how you feel in your body. It's a semi-therapist session, when all I really want is just the body work, to relax into my own body/nervous system. If I decide I want therapy, then I'll handle it myself, which is none of Angelina's or White Lotus' business, since they are not psychotherapists. They are a massage & yoga studio. Tonight, I did exactly what Angelina & I previously discussed - told her I'd like to focus on relaxation today, and I have my entire life covered: by myself, which is none of her business, after I mistakenly had previously opened up to her, only for her to act like my mother: invalidating my needs, boundaries, thoughts & feelings, over-powering my voice, making me feel unsafe, unheard, and unseen. And not giving me the massage, for which I paid, wasting my time, per economics: opportunity cost. Instead, she proceeded to broach my Thursday & Sunday emails, due to her failure to: - respect me - be trustworthy (honest, competent, and reliable) - listen to me/my voice - validate & honor my feelings (needs & boundaries) Instead, she invalidated me. And she wasted 2-hours I didn't have, driving to & from her, in traffic. And wasted another 30-minutes talking - all about her failure to do a simple request that I asked - on Thursday & on Sunday - and add my neurologist's note to my account. Kaley did this for Angelina, no problem. Very simple. Then, while I was reporting this entire drama, caused by Angelina's unprofessionalism/immaturity, to Kaley, Angelina came out to confess that - yes, as I expected/predicted - this was all due to her own failure. She wanted to talk to Ryan more about my neurologist's notes. Great! Then do that offline, Angelina, don't waste my time, during my massage appointment - paying you for body work - to talk about your administrative work, and about your feelings, when that's not why I'm there, nor why I'm paying you - for a service I never received. This was after Angelina minimized & invalidated my experience the past 5-years being harassed by my next-door neighbor, while Denver Police failed to respond appropriately, as per my neurologist. Then Angelina got *WAY OUTSIDE HER LANE* and totally violated my consent/privacy, and falsely alleged - in a public space - that I needed a therapist, when I never needed a therapist. Furthermore, I recently fired my private-pay healer/artist/shaman, who repeatedly gave me dangerous/destructive dating advice, for 5-years, leading to my private boundaries being violated by multiple men, which are none of Angelina's business, and way outside her scope of work. I solved the dating boundary violations via breakups, and I solved the two male neighbors misbehaving by installing CCTV. As I told Kaley, who doesn't have Angelina's problems, when you're living in an unsafe house that's - let's use an analogy - on fire, you don't use Angelina's relaxation/calming techniques. You put out the fire, which is entirely foreign to Angelina, who wants to treat the scared body inside the house on fire, not put out the fire, which is the obvious answer, that anyone healthy can see & understand. I remain totally uninterested in Angelina's *OPINION* on my being harassed by a neighbor older than my dead dad, which she knows nothing about, while she refuses/fails to listen to my valid medical doctor: a neurologist, given I'm here for my *NERVOUS SYSTEM*. I do not welcome Angelina's extreme over-reach, especially when she's not a therapist, nor is this a therapy business establishment. Then Angelina said, "let's talk about your nervous system," which was like talking to a wall, given I started the conversation by simply saying, "did you add my neurologist's letter(s) to my account? If so, great! Let's get down to relaxing in my body, via massage". Let me add that I *NEVER* had these issues with my massage therapists in San Francisco, CA, Plano, TX, and Washington, DC, all of whom simply gave me a massage, without drama. Embarrassing service, made a last minute appointment then felt uncomfortable with their massage therapists & they still have the nerve to say "you must cancel or reschedule appointments within 12 hours" how is that possible if I made it the same day? And only two therapist are there on a Friday at 4?? I was crushed when my usual massage therapist at a different studio changed his schedule, so I embarked on the nerve-wracking journey to try somewhere new. White Lotus is cute and classy. The space is beautiful (they also offer yoga!) and staff are friendly. I didn't love my massage, but I'm chalking that up to lack of relationship with the massage therapist. It wasn't as firm or relaxing as I had hoped, but I'm still glad I went. read more

On Saturday evening I bought a surprise, last minute massage for my partner and scheduled it for the next day. Called the salon 2-hours after booking to let them know he couldn't make it at that time but they were closed. We woke up and called first thing Sunday morning but the front desk refused to work with us on rescheduling without charging a 50% no-show fee for Sunday's appt. The firm policy and my experience here leads me to believe this business is not looking to expand their customer base or accommodate new customers. I wouldn't recommend going here if you're new to the business or wanting to establish reoccurring services. read more

He really paid attention to the areas I requested for focus and applied the right amount of pressure, checking in frequently to ensure I was still comfortable. While White Lotus has been my go-to spot for massages and I've always been so happy with my experience with the staff and therapists who work there, the reason for this review is to follow through on my promise to share honest words about my recent experience with management. Several weeks ago, I attempted to book an appointment for my friend to receive a massage online through Mind Body. My friend was with me at the time, and I was giving her this gift. The Mind Body app crashed before we received confirmation that the appointment was booked. We called White Lotus once they opened that same day to follow through on making the appointment. White Lotus informed us that there were no available appointments on the day we'd tried to make the appointment online, and they also did not inform us that our appointment that day was confirmed after we explained our experience with the app crashing. Instead, they let us book an appointment for a couple of days following the day we'd originally hoped for. Apparently, the original appt HAD gotten booked, unbeknownst to us, and unbeknownst to the person we spoke with when we called White Lotus. Because we didn't realize that original appointment was made, my friend missed it (and this was considered a no-show). We reached out to White Lotus for an explanation and refund request and went back and forth several times with them, at last receiving a lengthy response from the owner explaining that he still had to pay the therapist who showed up for the appointment even when we didn't; therefore, he would credit us 50% of the original payment and not 100%. I appreciated his response, but something was missing: the understanding and acknowledgement that this was tech/human error on their part. I understand from a business perspective that therapists are paid for the spots booked (and so are the studios) and that they depend on spots being filled. When the spots are taken but unfulfilled, this money is lost. For no-show appointments that are confirmed and made in earnest, the responsibility is on the client to show up or else lose the money they paid to hold the appointment. In our case, we earnestly tried to make the appointment but technology halted the process, and the staff at White Lotus could not confirm that the appointment was made in their system. Something went awry, and White Lotus would not take responsibility. Instead, they are keeping the $85 (the remaining 50% that they won't refund me), losing a long-term client in me, a potential new client in my friend, and any future referrals I would have given. I waited a few weeks to see if they would refund me 100% at my request, and they haven't. I give 2 stars because the owner took the time to write a response, and because typically I've had great experiences there, when everything went smoothly: but isn't the hallmark of any good relationship how upsets are handled and how ruptures are repaired? While I'm sincerely happy that they claim to treat their employees with the respect and care deserved by standing for them when a client does not show, this circumstance of technology crashing, botched scheduling with their staff member, and their subsequent refusal to retain a customer by refunding 100% was enough for me to write this. I did it because I care about community and small businesses in Denver, and I hope White Lotus will consider the long-view and choose differently in the future. We as consumers have a lot of choices these days, and it pays dividends to take care of both your employees and clients, sometimes at the small hit of the business. read more

My first experience with White Lotus was great. So good that I booked my next appointment before I left. A several days before my 2nd appointment they called and wanted to change the date or change therapist. I liked the one I had used (Chris). So I agree to change the date. My new appointment was for December 2 and again they called a few days before wanting to change the therapist or the appointment. I chose to cancel all together this time. I love that the White Lotus has offered a Yoga class specifically for caregivers. I strongly suggest any caregiver take this class. Being a caregiver, can be very stressful and very tough for the family members taking care of them. Many times caregivers don't do things for themselves. This is an opportunity for individuals to do something just for them, and the opportunity to connect to others experiencing something similar. Heather is an excellent instructor for all levels. Heather is great at providing alternative movements, and adding props for different levels. She is excellent in unifying mind and body by incorporating breathing and meditation. I had booked this for my significant other's birthday. On the day, she unfortunately had to catch the next flight to the east coast due to a family emergency. I called 3 and half hours before the appointment to let them know of the situation, I was told there would be no rescheduling available nor any discount offered. Given the circumstances this was ghastly unsympathetic. $220 for no work seems unethical. They will not be receiving any returning business from us. read more

He checked in before our session to see what areas might need more focus and during to make sure the pressure was good. Perfect pressure and super helpful for my tight shoulders and back! I went to White Lotus looking for a heavy massage, almost deep tissue. Massage technique by Melody was not there, too slow pace and not deep enough. It felt like she was just slowly pressing her hands on me rather than actually massaging my muscles. I spoke up a few times but eventually gave up trying to get the massage I was looking for as she wasn't able to change the technique much. More fluid movements with more oil or lotion and stronger pressure would make the massage much better. Very friendly service by her and all staff members and I could tell she was trying, but for the price I paid I have to say I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend to others. I didn't feel much difference in my body after leaving. However, very nice and relaxing environment, just maybe not the place to go if you want a firm massage. read more
