Dr. Patrick is the real deal. He links a unique background of philosophy into the chiropractic profession with a humbleness and intuitive expertise that would be hard to match. I was basically sitting for 9 months over a computer working 70 hours a week then went skiing and seemed to have a minor slipped disc. After the first session, I was able to leave with an ability to actually stand again without too much pain. It already felt like a significant change was underway. Of course, the nature of this work requires waiting 1-2 days after an adjustment to see real results. I was gradually feeling better and by the time the second day rolled around, I felt completely better and restored from my injury. I knew I had more sessions to go to, but after the 3rd session, I felt remarkably better. I love the style of Dr. Patrick's work. He brings experience and knowledge of real scientific backing with an added bonus of network chiropractic work, craniosacral therapy, and a keen sense of intuiting the necessary attention to all parts of the body. It was amazing to see that extra emphasis on my neck and hips would correct a problem in the middle of my back. I don't know why I always wait for western medicine to fail me miserably before I remember that I have great results with accupuncture. Long story short, a jaw issue had me in so much pain that I couldn't eat or sleep. I found DCA thanks to you lovely Yelpers and promptly called for an appointment. I described my issue and was told the soonest I could get in was the next day, an appointment that I gladly took. An hour or so later, Nikole called me back to say she had a cancellation and would I be able to come in that day - hallelujah! The intake was very thorough in both Nikole getting my medical history and in making me feel exceptionally comfortable with her. I was a little iffy about the community room, but I really like it! It's very comfortable and I didn't mind other patients in the room at the same time, in fact I hardly noticed. My treatments have made a huge difference, and I'll be back to see these lovely, professional and very well trained ladies as often as I can. read more

My husband and i booked an appointment for Reflexology and foot soaking bath - our appointment was at 9.30 AM. We arrived at 9.15 AM. The therapist never showed up. The receptionist started the foot bath and in the middle of it told us that our therapist was in Wyoming and was not able to make it. We were very disappointed. Never again. read more

What a fabulous resource for Denver. This place is truly wonderful. Please stay in business forever, okay? Thanks. In April 2012, I was in postpartum hell with some serious hormone issues. I had my first intake session with Adrienne and we went over my history and my symptoms. My first impression was that wow, this is very in depth for such an affordable price. I don't feel that I'm missing any quality of treatment even though I'm paying a third or fourth of the cost of other options. After my first session with Adrienne, I was already 100% better. I went about 4 or 5 times or so just to be sure. After suffering with postpartum depression for months, I finally found acupuncture took care of the problem in just a few treatments. When we felt ready for baby #2, I started going to acupuncture again. Lo and behold, I only went to one (or maybe 2? I can't remember) treatments before I became pregnant. I was nervous about the community element of this place, but there was nothing to worry about. The room is dark, the chairs are very comfortable, and the music is soothing. There's nothing to complain about here! I look forward to going again. When baby #2 arrives, I won't wait so long like last time, and by the time I'm about 3 months postpartum I will get my butt over there to make sure to avoid the horror-mones. Went here based off of the the great Yelp! reviews. I am 9 months pregnant and desperately needed a prenatal massage, my ankles were so swollen and I was so swore. Got an hour massage and it was just what I needed. Since I am over due I also made an appointment for some acupuncture. Having never done it before I had a great experience. I really like the sliding scale payment system since money is tight right now. I totally recommend them for moms to be and other folks needing some relief. I really, really like this place. $25 for an hour long acupuncture session? Yes please. This low price only applies if you receive your acupuncture in the community treatment room, which is warm, comfortable, and always emitting calm, positive vibes. I cannot seem to get through a session without falling asleep... it's just so damn relaxing! The two practitioners I have worked with are very friendly and professional. I truly like this place, however, watch out when making ONLINE APPTS. I made what I thought was an appt online last night and didn't realize I was only REQUESTING an appt, not MAKING an appt (I thought it would be similar to how I have signed up for classes/appts on other MINDBODY.com-supported sites). I traveled through a snowstorm after getting a concussion yesterday (which is why I needed an appt) only to find out my appt REQUEST was denied earlier today. So be forewarned, you cannot MAKE an appt online, you can only REQUEST an appt online, and if you do PLEASE call the front desk to confirm your request has been confirmed b/c, apparently, more than one person can request the same time slot for the same service. Not ideal for the customer. They DO email a confirmation or denial once someone comes in the next day and decides who gets the available time slot. I would save yourself the trouble, don't schedule online- just call and schedule when they are open. I have a headache now, I'm going to go take a nap. read more

I went to Denver Acupuncture the Monday after hurting my knee snowboarding. I was in a panic as it was early in the season. It hurt to the point of being unable to put weight on it to get off the chair lift. I went to see the wonderful ladies at Denver Acupuncture 3 times in one week and by Friday the pain in my knee was gone. Gone. It was amazing. The women Denver Comm. Acupuncture seriously rock. They are completely down to earth, friendly, very, very interested in what they do and the people they treat. I have recommended them to countless people. Their rates are absolutely reasonable and their treatments saved my knee (and my winter). I would never go anywhere else and couldn't recommend any other place more highly. Go! Go! Go! read more

I went in sometime in September or October and saw Nicole. I had problem with my shoulder but after 2 sessions, not sure if Nicole knows what she was doing, I have now excruciating pain. This place keeps disappointing. I came here a while ago and while I think it's great treatment, the office is run poorly, particularly the front desk. I haven't been in a while because of those issues but I went back since I moved further away from a better acupuncture place. They need to be consistent with the 15 min appointment and late show rules. I came in and left work early due to some extreme pain and while there was a cancellation and enough time to get me in, the woman at the front desk -- despite me telling her -- didn't send me back. So I spoke with the acupuncturist who didn't want to treat me with only 5 min, which I understand. So I waited 45 min for my actual appointment. Seemed really inconsiderate given that it's a place focused on wellness and health if you have a patient begging to be seen whose in pain and you have an opportunity but don't care enough to make it happen. It's also frustrating because I've gotten stuck in traffic before or had issues being late and I've been charged and refused to be treated. But when I heard the receptionist leaving a message for the person missing the appointment, apparently the fee would be waived. Bottom line, have a consistent 15 min policy and let people go in if there's a cancellation. And have 2 front desk helpers if one person can't handle it -- which I've seen is consistently the case regardless of who is working. read more

I love Nikole and Jessica. I look forward to getting those little needles stuck here and there, just so I can see them. ;-) They also offer "cupping" which can alleviate muscle cramps, and just feels great! Very affective acupuncture, I am always sleepy when I leave (I think that means its working...), and my health and allergies have improved tremendously. This place is awesome, albeit a little different than acupuncture I have had before. I love the fact that I felt listened to in my consultation and the practitioner was interested in my whole person. It is an excellent price for a graduate student with chronic pain issues and cruddy insurance. Sitting in a chair and trying to rest was a challenge, but I think now that I know what's up I'll be more used to it and able to relax. I did feel good afterwards, and I am looking forward to more treatments. read more

I've been a patient for four or five months and am so happy I found this place. I'd never received acupuncture before and didn't know what to expect. I go to boost fertility and for general wellness, but enjoy the relaxation benefits most of all. I see Marie more than anyone and LOVE HER. She cares about what she does and takes the time to understand your issues. I have been treated by the other acupuncturists and have no complaints. I just got used to working with Marie and now schedule my appointments around her days in the office as best I can. The affordability of treatment is the main reason I come back (that and Marie!). This place has been answered prayers for a healthy whole mind and body. I have been going since 2012 and it gets better and better year after year. I never thought a place like this could get better because it's so wonderful, but they find new ways! Dr. Caitlin O'Connor has helped treat and get rid of of an autoimmune issue I had. I also go there for acupuncture for whatever ailments or stuff I am going through. It has helped me with both pregnancies, decrease anxiety, help with nerve and muscle stuff. You cannot go wrong with acupuncture for body maintenance. They just incorporated a Tibetan Herbal Foot Soak Therapy along with reflexology. I tried if for the first time and felt a difference within 10 minutes of the soak. My mind was at ease, my nerve pain in my feet was relieving itself and to finish it off with reflexology made this tired mother feel completely rejuvenated! Paula is wonderful. This place feels like family and I am so grateful. My husband and I are in the middle of choosing who are health insurance provider will be and I told him to go with whoever he wants because Dr. Caitlin O'Connor and her team always steer me in the right direction and do not have any agenda but to work on complete mind/body health. I went to Brad here. Let me tell you, it was SO HARD telling such a hot man about my bowel movements, depression, anxiety, etc etc. I'm glad I met him though. My acupuncture treatments with him saved me while my body was healing. My anxiety was so bad....I was suicidal. My liver was overwhelmed. I was withdrawing from 7 years of taking multiple psychotropic drugs while I was going here. If there's anyone who can tell you that these people truly work magic - it's me. 1 1/2 years later and drug free....I have lost 30 pounds, my hormones are balanced, I am anxiety free, depression free, clear skin, my liver is not puffy any more - my body and mind feel so much better and in balance. I've been treated here a few times now, and I can't say enough about this place. This clinic is a fully board certified and licensed Oriental medicine clinic newly opened in the Highlands. The acupuncturists here are incredible at what they do, giving you the time it takes to make a proper assessment of your needs for your body. They make every effort to ensure you receive the best possible individual care. There is a community treatment room which allows for acupuncture to finally be affordable with a sliding scale fee starting at $25! I feel at peace and at home at DCA. Denver Community Acupuncture is awesome for anyone that wants to receive the benefits of acupuncture, without the expensive price tag that accompanies acupuncture sessions elsewhere. They are professional, friendly, caring, and highly affordable. Their customer service is impressive, from the first phone call to set up the appointment, to the acupuncture session, and even checking out. I was able to get an appointment within the same week that I called, and the receptionist was friendly and made sure I knew where I was going, where I could park, and what to expect with the community atmosphere. The space at DCA is relaxing, clean, and cozy, and their waiting room is equipped with a variety of teas and magazines, with comfortable couches. My first two appointments were with Kate, who is amazing! She was so nice, knowledgeable, and on time. In our one-on-one consultation, Kate showed a genuine interest in my health concerns, and offered her expert advice on diet and supplements that she thought would be beneficial to me. She also thoroughly explained how she performs treatment, and what to expect from my session, and how long it would last. The community treatment room was relaxing and quiet, with ambient lighting that provides a very peaceful atmosphere. The reclining chairs are really comfortable, and I really like that all I have to do is slip off my shoes, and roll my sleeves and pants up. They follow all safety procedures, including using brand new needles and swabbing arms and legs with alcohol first. Kate was great at placing the needles, which was relatively painless, and she even stayed in the room with me the whole time, which made me feel safe and secure. I didn't even really notice the other people in the room getting treated, because it's so quiet and relaxing! After my treatment time was up, which wasn't rushed in any way, Kate made sure to remind me about the supplements she thought would help me, and told me what to expect from future appointments, including how often she would like me to come in to treat my problems. The receptionist was also very knowledgeable about all the supplements, and helped me pick out the ones that I needed, and even gave me 5% off the supplements I bought, just for being a patient at DCA! I had the option of choosing how much I wanted to pay for my session, on their sliding scale, and they didn't make me feel bad or try to guilt me into paying on the higher end, they were extremely professional about it! My overall experience was great, and I already have made my next appointment. I would highly recommend Kate at Denver Community Acupuncture to anyone, though I'm confident that anyone there would do an amazing job delivering quality care. I have been a client for two years. I came because I was in need of pain relief for a knee that needed replacement and I wasn't ready yet for surgery. I started acupuncture with Adrienne right away and found that within in three weeks I was able to cut back on pain medications. In four weeks I was able to stop taking them altogether. I went on a weekly basis until I had my surgery and came back as soon as I could drive again. I had pain but by three weeks after my surgery I was pretty well back to my old self. I continued on a weekly basis for another month to make sure I was on top of the pain. I've been told by other people who have had this surgery and did not do acupuncture that it took them six weeks or more to get back to work. I was back in three weeks. I then went to monthly wellness treatments with Erin and now Bradley and have found if something is off a little it can be tweaked with these monthly treatments. I love these wonderful people. I had never experience acupuncture before visiting Denver Community and was and still am pleased with my on-going care. During my first trimester of pregnancy I received treatments almost weekly which directly helped me with nausea, energy and my general mood. The nurturing affect of these ladies is obvious and the care and intention of their practice is evident. I am now in my second trimester and still receiving treatments regularly, always feeling more 'in-tune' after being treated.
