I am way overdue writing this review, but it's kind of better because I can share that I am still experiencing the benefits from my time with Rebecca two months later. I came to her feeling extremely burnt out on work and life, in general. I needed help finding balance, and she really helped me learn where I was holding on to stress both physically within my body and emotionally. This massage was like none that I have, and frankly I think every massage should be like this! I am so curious about the training and experience necessary to become as highly perceptive as Rebecca is. I may not have been *cured* the same day (nor did I expect to be), but she gave me a hell of a jump start and tools to carry with me. I visited Rebecca last week for the first time. I was able to make a same day appointment which was awesome. When you arrive, make sure you park in the back of the building since the parking out front by the paint store is very busy. I arrived and was greeted by a very friendly, energetic woman. We sat and explained to her that I have been experiencing random pain in my side. I didn't know that trauma can stick with you and show up years later. I'm a personal trainer and an Army combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. I have been very active in my life. Lately I have not been able to exercise because of these random pains. I got a massage, chiropractor, physical therapy, and my general doctor. Nobody could find wha was wrong with me so I decided to try alternative medicine. The session was respectful and pleasant and I truly felt the positive healing energy radiating through my body and chakras. I have never experienced something like this before and I am truly thankful. She puts all of her energy into healing and recovering from trauma. I feel like I have new tips and therapeutic, spiritual help for my own healing. I am giving 4 stars because I'm really not sure if this worked for me. I left feeling like I was in worse pain than before. This is my 3rd day after the session. I have prayed, I have done everything I can possibly do but I am in a LOT of pain. I'm going to give it another day but may have to go back to my doctor and do further tests. It's frustrating having pain but no diagnosis. I'm not sick or have any health issues. I can still work and move around but I can not heal from this weird pain it sucks! I've tried everything from massage, foam rolling, trigger point, meditation, E-stun, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, and now Somatic. Rebecca is amazing. I went in for my first Somatic Mind-Body Therapy session earlier this week, and I slept like a baby that night. I've been working through moving past a lot of mental health challenges in the last couple of years - caused by a dysregulated nervous system (because of chronic childhood trauma). Her session provided a unique emotional release, physical holding, and healing - which I didn't realize I desperately needed in order to help complete cycles of living in a permanent sympathetic state (fight-or-flight) and moving more towards a more consistent parasympathetic state (rest-and-digest). I've found rest and powerful change in other modalities like yoga/meditation, breathwork, chiropractic care and psychedelic therapy (Ketamine IM Infusion therapy) - which have all lead me to realize an integrated healing approach works so powerfully and beautifully for me. What Rebecca offered was different and so powerful because she was there with me during the entire 90 minutes. There's something so powerful and healing about having a kind, strong, and loving presence in the room to hold space and provide undivided attention to the essence of who you are. I highly recommend seeing Rebecca Mara for any wellness visit you think you need. I went in to just get a wellness visit in order to relax my mind and body. But, I left feeling a very perfectly sized transformation (not too big or small, just perfect). She helped me see where I was in my body, and where I was in my life, which is not something I ever walk away from with a typical wellness visit  I was pleasantly surprised to realize I stumbled upon a true healer, which I was not expecting- as she was just a recommendation from a friend of a friend for bodywork. She has a light energy to her, so much, that there is a wonderful balance of staying light and going deep at the same time. I did not have a good experience with Somadi - I left feeling worse off than when I arrived. I write this knowing that she helps many people but she is also just a person and has blind spots and some of us, like myself, stand in those blind spots. There is only one placer top go for a massage in Boulder. You can go someplace for a "Spa" experience. If you want a real massage one that is meant to soothe you, align you, and revitalize you, then only Rebecca at Somadi massage will do.
