It's probably a good thing that I waited a few days before writing this review because my immediate reaction would have resulted in a blistering diatribe. Today, although things are no less tragic from my perspective, I'm capable of being a bit more understanding.
Let me start by saying that I'd worked with Whitefeather on and off for several years and they'd had always done a fairly solid job. However, this time out they were merely asked to (very lightly) trim a fruit tree that was (had been) the dramatic focus of my small garden.
The request, which was made in writing, was that they simply take "a little off the top" removing just those parts that were outside the walls of our garden and disturbing our HOA. Instead they completely eviscerated the tree and made it look like something you might find in the midst of a commercial fruit orchard.
Dana the owner was quick to admit to the error but rather than taking personal responsibility she opted to blame it on her "guys". The real problem was that the instructions were either never passed on to those guys or that she simply didn't provide the requisite management oversight.
To compound the problem, her reaction was a tepid "I'm sorry" and a not very comforting assurance that it would grow back .....someday. Actually, after being pressed on the matter several times, she eventually did offer to try to find some way to offset the damage. However, by that time, I had already spent $600 with another landscaper to try and repair the damage (Note: the requested trimming was anticipated to cost less than $75).
I wouldn't say that you shouldn't use whitefeather, however, if you do, be prepared to supervise any job yourself and make no assumptions as to their competence. read more
