We finally decided to travel to Clinton to eat at White Dog. We knew we needed to go before daylight saving fall back. They are only open for dinner so winter means traveling home in dark. Easy to find but with a woodsey feel. Love the chairs sitting out for sunset viewing. The whole place is very unique. We went on Halloween so hardly anyone there. Would love to go back when a more lively crowd. When your retired, you like to people watch and visit. Ordered the special Meatloaf with mashed sweet potatoes and zucchini. Husband had porkchop. All very good but would of loved bread. They do offer appetizers of cheese board with a little bread roll. I'm not a fan of chunks of cheese so didn't order. Menu has steaks and hamburgers. Watch specials on Facebook! Summer would be best to be prettiest and warmer. Definitely worth the 1 1/2 hr drive. Very friendly service. Total casual atmosphere. It's even close to a Cherokee Trading center for alittle shopping.

Small Charcuterie

Great service!! We had the Oklahoma wines with a small charcuterie which was a great pairing. We also enjoyed the special which was a pecan crusted salmon, maple Cinammon carrots and balsamic Parmesan asparagus. This is such a fun special occasion place. Love the atmosphere. One of our very favorites!

Had a lovely dinner with friends at White Dog Hill (WDH). Left OKC at 4:30 and picked up our friends in Yukon at 5:00. Arrived WDH at 6 for our reservations. WDH is a unique venue and an excellent restaurant located east of Clinton, OK sitting on a plateau that provides a beautiful view and stunning sunsets. The restaurant is rustic, charming, and exudes warmth. There are two dining levels, and the lower level is my favorite because of the sandstone rock walls. The building was originally constructed as the Clinton Country Club in 1925. There is an interesting story titled, the Legend of the White Dog that can be found at: https://www.routemagazine.us/stories/the-legend-of-the-white-dog For dinner, everyone but me ordered filets. I ordered a ribeye. The steaks were excellent, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to order. We passed on desert in favor of an after dinner cocktail at the Beany bar, a separate building, a short walk from the main restaurant. The Beany bar is lovely inside and out. It was an excellent after dinner experience.

Amazing view and amazing food. The steaks were done to perfection. Staff was attentive , but not over bearing. My wife had a mixed drink and loved it. Worth the trip

Great food and an amazing venue. The staff was also very welcoming and professional. I would highly recommend the White Dog.

We sat downstairs. It was much brighter than I expected. Very pleasant! The walls of this place built in 1925 are so interesting!

Staying in Clinton on the way to OKC. Go!!! Jamie was super pleasant when I called last-minute for reservations. The owner greeted us at the hostess stand. Very welcoming, chatted with her a bit about our recent visit to Santa Fe. We had a delicious, pleasant meal. Macey was our server. Attentive but not intrusive. I couldn't decide between catfish and shrimp. She suggested catfish and adding a skewer of shrimp. Perfect! She also suggested the pan-seared catfish over the breaded. Also perfect! I don't believe I've ever had catfish any way other than fried but so glad I did tonight! Very tender with dill on top but just the right amount. Husband had the 12 oz sirloin - prepared just right. His cheesy potatoes were yummy!! My salad and baked potato were good, nothing special. But the homemade raspberry vinaigrette - yum!! Thick, almost like a jam - I kept what I didn't use for my salad and dipped my grilled shrimp in it! Try it! Good on the catfish too. Step outside for the view before or after dinner - it's lovely!!

Doing a day trip to OKC and needed a nice place to enjoy lunch where we could bring our dogs. AI…read moresent us to Cheever's and what a lovely choice it was. The patio space in the front was very secluded and lush, we had it entirely to ourselves. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. They even brought out a water bowl with ice for our pups. We loved our drinks. My espresso martini was boozy and not too sweet with a love whipped topping on top. Her Road to Hana was very refreshing and the pineapple tajin garnish hit the spot. Quick shout out to the dinner rolls and butter. I was starving so this held me over while our shareables came out. The Spicy Caesar was nice, loved the hit of heat that came with it. The Chicken Pepperjack Strudel, a signature dish, was really really good. Just wish it was warmer in the center but yea definitely order this. Juan's queso is not a typical queso dish. First, it's real cheese and it comes with a black bean puree, salsa verde, and avocado thinly sliced on top. We loved it, especially my wife. If you're in search of a higher end dining experience in OKC, Cheever's is a must.

Since everyone has commented on Cheevers brunch (which I have yet to enjoy), I wanted to share our…read moregreat dinner experience! I came here with a large group of about 8 of us with a reservation made early on. We were seated in a nice, private room and had an overall very lovely experience! First of all, our server Trey was just spot on with all of his recommendations. He recommended the crab cakes, the halibut, and anything that came with the spicy shrimp risotto. Our table got crab cakes to start, and this was probably my favorite dish of the evening! The crab cake was large, fluffy, and full of lump crab topped with a spicy and delicious salsa verde and pico. For the entree I ordered the halibut which was cooked well, but the side of spicy shrimp risotto definitely stole the show (as Trey accurately predicted). Most of our party ordered this and everyone was pretty happy with it! For dessert, our table shared chocolate cake and the coconut creme pie. The chocolate cake was very rich and was probably one of the best chocolate cakes I've had, and I'm not a big chocolate cake person. I still definitely preferred the coconut creme pie, which I would order again next time! Our service was fantastic for the evening, and when Trey tells you to order something, trust him and do it!
