Stopped by for lunch and the food was really good. The restaurant was super clean. Will go again.

A nostalgic Route 66 stop, but the food didn't quite match the atmosphere Our Route 66 adventure eventually led us to Lucille's Roadhouse in Clinton. I'll admit, I may have built this place up a little too much in my mind. The Route 66 nostalgia is absolutely outstanding. From the vintage gas pumps outside to the classic diner décor inside, it's a fun place to visit if you're traveling the Mother Road. The restaurant wasn't busy, so we were seated immediately. Our server, Arisa, was friendly, welcoming, and kept our drinks filled throughout the meal. One funny moment--I thought this was one of the Oklahoma Passport stamp locations, but it turns out I had confused it with the original Lucille's in Weatherford. Since Weatherford was on our return trip, I eventually got my passport stamped there instead! As many of you know, one of my personal quests is finding the ultimate Chicken Fried Steak, so that's what I ordered with corn and coleslaw. It certainly wasn't bad...it just wasn't memorable. The steak was tender enough, but the breading and gravy didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. It's not something I'd order again. The coleslaw was an even bigger disappointment. The flavor was simply off, and after a couple of bites I pushed it aside. I also tried the blue lemonade because it looked fun and refreshing. Unfortunately, it had almost no flavor. I'm normally a 95% water drinker, but every now and then I'll treat myself to lemonade or a soda. This one just wasn't worth finishing. Arisa happily exchanged it without hesitation, and I appreciated her taking care of it so quickly. My wife definitely won lunch. She ordered the catfish with fries and mac & cheese. The catfish was crispy, flaky, and delicious. The fries were cooked just the way we like them, and even I'll admit the mac & cheese was better than most restaurant versions I've tried. She even shared a catfish fillet and more fries than I probably needed! Overall, I'd give Lucille's Roadhouse 3 stars. The food was a mixed bag, but the nostalgia, spotless restaurant, friendly service, and fun Route 66 atmosphere made it a worthwhile stop. I'd certainly come back--but next time I'd order something different. My only real complaint beyond the meal was finding the restaurant. The GPS directions were surprisingly confusing, and getting there was far more difficult than it should have been. If you're traveling Route 66, Lucille's is still worth a stop for the experience alone. Just know that, at least on this visit, the atmosphere outshined my lunch. My co-worker and ate here as we are traveling through for work. We were seated immediately and our waitress attended to us pretty quick. I got the Tuesday special, pot roast with a salad as my side, and my co-worker got the chicken fried steak with a salad and fried okra. Salads came out really quick and were good. The main entrees came out pretty quick as well. They were served hot. Unfortunately I got the last bit of the pot toast so it was pretty much just the roast. It had a wonderful flavor! Without me asking, the manager offered me another bowl of soup to offset not having more pot roast. I got the hamburger vegetable stew. It was not as good as the pot roast, but still had a good flavor. My co-worker enjoyed his meal as well. The ambiance is that of a diner/restaurant mix, but very casual. Good service! The patty melt with sauteed mussrooms was excellent and so was the fried mushrooms!

We needed some good takeout food after a long day of traveling and we were so glad we found Lucille's Roadhouse. The takeout order was packaged very well and everything was still warm. The BBQ pulled pork was delicious and on a baked potato with cheese and sour cream...wow! The grilled chicken on the chicken dinner salad was very tender and deliciously seasoned. Wish we could have been hungrier to try more food items. I am sure they'd be delicious too. read more

Lucille's Roadhouse is a Festive Route 66 dinner with a full bar, and gift shop. We ordered chicken fried steak, side salad and sautéed mushrooms. Side salad had lettuce topped with shredded Jack & cheddar cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, bacon, dried berries and croutons-your choice of dressing. - delicious. The sautéed mushrooms were Canned mushrooms absolutely not to my liking! Chicken fried steak was thick and chewy - mashed potatoes were average. Super slow service and inattentive wait staff made Sunday lunch last until nearly 3pm. We were with out of state friends who chose the spot. It was beyond embarrassing. Good clean establishment. Nice bartender. Claimed 20 years. I had a cocktail, ordered dinner and a glass of wine. Pleasant enough. Huge TVs. Nice music. Bartender was a lovely gal. But that's where it ends. The lights were so bright that I felt like I was being operated on. When I inquired about it to another employee, nothing happened. The steak was OK but completely trimmed so that 1/3 rd was gristle. The potato came out wrapped in foil. WTF? What am I supposed to do? Eat the foil? There is a huge rule, if it isn't edible, don't serve it. If someone figures out the lighting issue I would come back. Like I said, the girl was nice. I was pretty excited to try this place. The location was previously a restaurant that wasn't very good, but this restaurant is quite popular in the other location. I had high hopes. First off, none of the employees were wearing masks. With the situation in the area, that's not exactly the best first impression. However, they did have QR menus...but the code didn't work, so we had regular menus. The waitress wasn't very personable whatsoever. I understand the entire staff is new, but she wasn't very nice. Not rude, just not pleasant. When I asked a few questions about the menu, she couldn't really answer my questions at all. I'm hoping that if I visit again, the knowledge base will be improved. I ordered corn nuggets to start. They were very good! I had to ask for ranch to go with them (as included on the menu), but the taste was good. However, they aren't like normal corn nuggets: if you don't like spice, steer clear. They were also a bit more greasy than I expected. I ordered a beyond burger with French fries as my meal. The burger was excellent and cooked well. The fries were also very good, normal frozen fries but seasoned well. My friend order the pork stir fry. The rice was WAY overcooked: I could see the mushy rice from across the table. She said the pork was ok, but terribly greasy. She also got hushpuppies, which I tried, and they were pretty good. All in all, this place needs some improvement across the board. However, it's not bad. I will say that probably a good portion of the food is frozen, but for the area it's decent. read more

My husband and I stopped for lunch on a roadtrip because he wanted chicken fried steak. Service was good and our food came out fast. I got a steak salad that was very good. It was obvious the oil in the fryer was too hot because CFS was crispy, but my husband said it tasted okay. He really liked the mashed potatoes & fried okra. First of all if you like Spam go here, the Spamwich was big and tasty. If you want something tasty other than Spam and you demand good service this may not be your place. If you are staying at the hotel next door, you are not in a hurry and want to experience a local place and you have a good sense of humor this place is for you. Just remember what you learned as a kid: "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit" Overall this restaurant definitely did not provide us what we were expecting beer-wise and food-wise but everything was perfectly acceptable and provided more of a memorable experience that we will fondly look (giggle) back on. Employees may get a few things wrong but they are very genuine and kind. read more

We're back on I40 in Oklahoma again, it's lunch time, so that means stopping at Lucille's Roadhouse! Only this time, Lucille's in Clinton, OK. Let's get the only negative thing out of the way first. My wife had the BBQ pulled pork with cheese sandwich and I had the jalapeño burger. My wife did not care for the sauce on her's and we both thought the meats were a bit too dry. They would have been great had the meats been juicer. The sides were good and the service and ambiance were excellent! Our server, Rissa, could not have been more attentive and pleasant. I enjoyed the motif more than the Weatherford location, though both are nice. Clinton's really had the "Route 66" theme going. Recommend you try either location, but can't suggest the burgers. read more

Nice place as far as the building goes. Brightly lit , clean place with a lot of souvenirs. Service was slllllooowwwwwww. Several minutes to get seated and the place was nearly empty. Had to wait on a menu because the didn't have enough. Odd since there were so few people there. Nice beer list, got it after my food arrived. Several minutes after my food arrived. We ate here on the early evening of May 20, 2023. Clinton, Oklahoma. We were seated in a very noisy room and asked to sit us some where quieter...so, it was the bar area. Wife ordered the "Phillydilla" and a side salad. After driving for eight hours from Albuquerque we just wanted a nice end of the day meal. We didn't quite get that. My wife's Phillydilla was just awfully spicy and loaded with Jalapeños. This was not mentioned in the menu nor was there a warning from the waitress. The Phillydilla was so very greasy it was near impossible to eat let alone, enjoy. Her side salad was made up of a lot of brown and wilted lettuce, that too being a huge disappointment. My meal was a "Chicken Fried Chicken" meal with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes with about 2 full cups of some kind of white gravy that it over took the plate and completely covered the food. My steamed vegetables weren't really steamed, had they been properly steamed they would have been cooked completely and not been dry and hard and cold. I asked the waitress if I could have some butter for my vegetables. She brought me a straight from the microwave scolding hot saucer of butter that burned my fingers when I tried to pick it up to pour onto my veggies. This whole experience was just disappointing & nothing short of awful. We will never return. The worst takeaway from this is that it is a real slap in the face to the originator and corporate idol, Lucille Hamons who would never had served a meal like this.... read more

Great attentive service right out of the gate. The fried mushroom appetizer was served hot quickly with a generous amount of mushrooms and dipping sauces. The main courses were the Swiss Mushroom Onion burger and the Jumbo Chicken Strips (2). As with the appetizer, the main course was served swiftly and was very delicious. I was really excited to try the menu. Sadly, the service was not attentive, and it took quite a while for me to catch the attention of the server, when the house salad came out loaded with meat. I had specifically asked her about the red pepper Gouda soup being vegetarian or not, but she didn't realize that the same person ordering the salad was also not wanting meat on top of it, if they didn't want a non vegetarian soup. Finally got that problem solved but realized after the fact that the cornbread that is supposed to be served with the all-you-can-eat soup was never brought to the table. Both of us ordered soup but never received the cornbread. Maybe this was an isolated incident, but it doesn't make me feel like trying it again. Something for everyone here and a full bar. Really fun Route 66 decor makes this nostalgic relaxing atmosphere. Serve was great, prompt and professional. We started with chips,salsa and guacamole. Fresh multi colored chips hot from the fryer and a large portion as well. Salsa and guacamole was great and better that most Mexican food restaurants. I had a Ribeye which was cooked perfectly and see sweet potato was great as well. Husband hand the sausage dinner with chili and add on ribs. Again everything was excellent. You cannot go wrong here. Clinton has their own Lucille's Roadhouse now. It is a large space with a gift shop in the front and a sizeable bar. This hidden gem is found at the driveway of the Hampton Inn just north of I-40. Absolutely horrible service. Very few customers so there was nothing to distract our server, Kamarie. She certainly didn't listen to us. AND left dirty dishes on the table after 4 visits to us that involved no extra work. We wanted to order some TO-Go food. She brought us an empty ToGo container. We ordered the food that we would have like to enjoy later in our hotel. She brought it to us plated so that we had no choice but to eat it there and then. Horrible Service! read more
