It needed to be taken in at the chest, waist, and hips, hemmed to the correct length, and bustled. I came fully prepared with my shoes, shapewear, accessories, and even my veil so the alterations could be done properly. I was told my dress would be ready July 31. On July 30, I called and asked if I could pick it up August 3 and was told it was ready. I called again on August 3 before leaving home and was again told my dress was ready. When I arrived, I was handed **someone else's wedding dress**. After the confusion, I learned that my dress was actually **not ready and the alterations had not even been started**. I received a call the very next morning saying my dress was finished. Considering it had not been started the day before, I was immediately concerned that the work had been rushed. When I returned on August 6, the fit was not right. The back was extremely tight, and the fabric was bunching around my waist and hips instead of laying smoothly. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that I had somehow gained **four inches in my back in approximately six weeks**. I was also told the dress needed to be let out again and that I would have to pay an additional $125, on top of the **$625 I had already paid**. When I picked the dress up again a few days later, the bunching was still there. At that point, I was told there was nothing more that could be done. Having wedding dress alterations done is stressful enough without being repeatedly told a dress is ready when it isn't, discovering the work had not even been started, being handed another bride's dress, and ultimately leaving unhappy with the fit after paying hundreds of dollars. I took my dress elsewhere to have the alterations corrected. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this seamstress for bridal alterations. My advice- STAY AWAY!!!!

I gave them a wallet for reconditioning and I got it back polished. They are the drop off point for Pete's shoes in Runnemead, who I used when Pete was there. You can no longer talk with the shoe repair girl at Pete's because she got tired of dealing with customers. I dropped off a pair of Clark's shoes and was assured it can be fixed. I asked what if it isn't. The reply was "it will be". I got them back and the glue used let go in two days. I brought them Back and they said " well you know Clarks are not good shoes. They assured me of it being corrected. I got them back only to find that the shoe repair girl used a hard setting glue which started cracking during my first wear. Pete, God rest his soul, was great at the shoe craft. This 2nd generation shoe maker needs to go to a school to learn the craft. i can't stress enough: If you care about you shoes or clothing find another place Don't use this novelty shop. When I went into Kings Guard, the owners were nothing but sweet. The lady was so excited to help me, she knew the only thing I needed was for the dress to be taken in on the sides and shorten the straps a little. I put the dress on, she pinned everything, and we agreed it was a perfect fit. She wrote me up a slip, advised it would be $60, and to come back in two days to pick it up. Awesome. I go back a few days later to pick it up, try the dress on, and I can't even zip up the back. Apparently, they have a seamstress off-site that does alterations & she took the dress in too much. Fine, the lady at the shoppe said she would have it taken care of within 48 hours, which was good! I go back in 2 more days to try the dress on again & now it fits perfect. Here's my problem: I was charged $80 total. When asked why the $20 extra charge, the lady said it was because the dress had to be sent back a second time to get fixed, and it costs them money to do that. Uhmmmm, ok, but it wasn't my fault the dress was taken in too much the FIRST time. I hate confrontation, so I questioned her once, she said that's how it is, I paid the $80, and went on my merry way. I loved the shoppe at first, they are sweet people, but I'm not keen on their customer service / resolution methods. Sadly, I will not be going back. Sorry, Kings Guard!
