Living in a 150 year old house, HVAC and plumbing calls are frequent. We tried most of the firms in the area and seemingly always an issue of timing, quality or knowledge. We were referred to Whitcher by a neighbor, and in 7 years with various needed repairs and updates, they've handled every task in a timely professional manner. Worse company in Lenawee County. Had them install a tub and the tub won't hold water. Asked them to come back and fix since they said it's a one year warranty on work and they wanted to charge me. How's that a warranty? In fact, they said that they would come and take a look at it, even though I disagree with them not wanting to warrant their work. Then never showed? Seriously? Never showed despite saying that they would take a look at their failure the next day. Unprofessional. Let's not even get into scheduling the initial project. Dan was the most unresponsive and unprofessional estimator I've ever met. Tried to call him back at least ten times and texted several times to get my project scheduled. No response. Tried for weeks. Come 'on, dude. Seriously? When I finally inquired with their office about Dan's lack of professionalism, I get told he tried to call me and I didn't have a voicemail setup. Bull crap and untrue. I had a voicemail setup. Why lie? Go elsewhere. Do not trust these people. They are unprofessional, not trustworthy, and unreliable. I should have realized how bad this experience was going to be after initially dealing with Dan in the first place. read more

I called to have a winter furnace inspection done and scheduled for the following week. Technician arrived and performed inspection and found a faulty heat exchanger and made all arrangements, fixed problem and all work was done. I have no complaints about work. I received my bill for $735 and since the heat exchanger was under warranty and shipping was $75 and there was a maximum 3-4 hours of work (1 hour at my house and some assembly in their shop) I asked why bill was so high. I was told "you were quoted that was the price" I WAS NOT GIVEN A QUOTE. I try to be fair, honest and reasonable and this company IS NOT. The price is outrageous. read more

The technician came out and did absolutely nothing. He commented, "We do not service Lennox." He did not look at anything. Took pictures and left. I paid the service call fee because that is the cost of just coming out, but I feel I deserve a refund considering it was a waste of both of our time. If he did nothing because he knew nothing about Lennox then I should of been asked when I called to make the appointment what kind of system I had to avoid the waste of time and money. read more

I was surprised with the straight forward honesty from this company. We bought a new house and furnace needed some work on the exhaust pipe going to the chimney. I paid for a furnace inspection and the repairman simply gave me a flat fee per foot to replace the rusted out pipe, the exhaust pipe very bad.No big up sell or other nonsense. Straight, honest, & to the point. He was very polite and the work was honestly fare for the price. All I can say is thank you and we are a customer forever. Outrageous price charged for replacing a thermostat at my rental property in Michigan. I was in a bind when one of my lake cottage renters called and said the heat wouldn't come on. I was 230 miles away so I called Whitcher to respond to the problem. They responded quickly and were very nice over the phone but the amount to replace the thermostat was $173.36! Wow. I had replaced this thermostat before and it cost me about $25 at Lowes and about 20 minutes to take the two wires off the old one and put them on the new one. (Don't have air conditioning or it might have been 3 wires.) I was stuck being so far away and having an unhappy vacationer on my hands so I went ahead with the repair but Whitcher won't be called again. read more
