If you are in the Boston area and need a cake, this is your place. Jessey is so kind and makes gorgeous, personalized cakes with a unique twist. My best friend is turning 21, and loves strawberry white chocolate cakes. Even though this flavor was not offered, Jessey accommodated. She was a great communicator and delivered the best product i could have imagined. Thank you. The taste. So light, not too sweet, MOIST. When do you get such a beautiful cake that tastes so good? 10/10 For Jessey, the taste, the appearance.

Ordered a custom flavored pistachio cake from Jessey for a birthday and was super happy. She was very responsive and accommodating to my specific requests. She even agreed to meet outside of her stated hours to get me the cake in time for our birthdays plans. It was beautiful and delicious...not too sweet but great flavor. I look forward to ordering more cakes in the future!

I wanted a cream and milk free cake (I'm okay with butter and eggs) and I emailed Jessey to talk about what kind of a cake that would work with. I also wanted a matcha flavor in there. It turned out to be a dairy free chiffon with matcha cake layers and butter frosting with some fruit on top. It was truly beautiful and even more delicious. It was made on time, even slightly earlier. Pickup was seamless. She's a sweet and beautiful person, extremely talented. The cake was gorgeous in addition to being incredibly delicious.

I ordered a matcha white chocolate cake for my friend's birthday and requested a birthday message/drawing of an otter on the cake because we have a tradition of gifting each other otter-related stuff. Jessey topped a beautiful cake with the cutest otter -- we both melted!!! The delivery was seamless, and Jessey also gave my friend tips on how the cake is best served. After the delivery, Jessey sent me an email about the delivery, which I really appreciated. And obviously, it tasted great!!! We heart Whiskful!!

Because of Covid, my son turned 21 on the other side of the country from his family (maybe that worked out better for him :). I wanted to send him a cake since I couldn't make one for him except that he is lactose intolerant and most desserts have dairy in them. What to do! Whiskful came to my rescue. Jessey not only made an amazing dairy free chocolate cake, but she went the extra mile by calling me and emailing me to make sure everything went smoothly. My son has only a bike so I had the cake delivered. After talking to Jessey on the phone, she encouraged me to order the cake through her web site and use the Calendly calendar to schedule a delivery. Everything worked out perfectly. We had a Zoom birthday and I was super jealous watching my son eat cake this beautiful cake and I couldn't join him. Next time I'm in Boston I will defiantly visit Wiskful.

My husband is lactose intolerant and we ordered a dairy free cake from Whiskful for my daughter's 5th birthday. Jessey was very responsive and easy to work with. She asked me what our daughter's favorite colors were and was able to incorporate it into the cake decoration. Chocolate cake was delicious, very moist and yummy! Thank you for making our family celebration special!

Jessey is just an unbelievable Baker! This is probably like our 8th black sesame cake we've order in the last 6 month. Our family demands this cake every time there's a birthday. Even though we had a mermaid ‍ theme for my 5 yr old niece bday, Jessey went ahead and create this adorable mermaid cake to tie in with the party. If you haven't tried this cake, what are you waiting for!!

Jessey was awesome to work with. She took my loose idea for the cake and turned it into a beautiful masterpiece. Her prices are affordable and she offered a quick turnaround time. I also ordered the lemon raspberry squares which were delicious!

I'm glad I was able to find this place near where I live during this pandemic. Not only is it beautiful, but it's even delicious!! It was pleasant to meet Jessey who was very kind and thoughtful. I think I'll be visiting here again to try out other cakes.

Been wanting to give this place a try for a month after seeing gorgeous pictures of their pastries…read moreon instagram lately. I stopped by on a Sunday early morning right after they had opened and tried several items on display including a plain croissant, a pear danish, blueberry danish, and a valentine raspberry special bowtie. While the pastries looked pretty for instagram, they all needed a LOT more work. Everything here left me sad. There were no flakes, no crumble, and no crisp to the pastries (just soft, limp, sadness). The danishes here are also not cheap, with the blueberry danish being $8. According to the staff, all the danishes had come out fresh out of the oven JUST 30 minutes ago. Can only imagine how much more disappointing the pastries would've been for the people that came in after me. Save yourself a trip here and go to Michette, Lakon, Colette, Cremux Patisserie, SALT, or Little L instead if you're looking for a solid danish or croissant. Will not be back.

Good crunch to the bite, sending flaky shrapnel everywhere, but yielding to the tender center. Somewhat buttery. Chocolate croissant: Not as gigantic, but a steal at under $5. Not warm but very fresh, very flaky and delicate, cracking more intensely in the bite with even more shrapnel. Underneath, a very light and fluffy feel, along with a very buttery taste. Not greasy at all; just great flavor, and that's not even counting the dark chocolate, which was understated but effective. Pain au Raisin: Again flaky, but a bit (only a bit) on the dry side, even with the noticeably custardy notes. Good flavor to the dough. Minimal glaze if any. A rung or two lower on the impressiveness scale than the almond and chocolate croissants, but still solid. Blueberry Danish: Nice pastry, many layers, light, crisp and delicate, while still being soft and buttery. Good flavor to the dough and faintly glazed. Surprisingly, the crispness lasted well into the early evening, when tried as a take-home item. Lots of blueberries, fresh and not too fussed with, along with a bit of blueberry compote. No gimmicks, no bombast, just good stuff. Looking forward to a quick return. On my mental shopping list to encompass a few visits: chocolate almond croissant, chocolate chip cookie dough croissant (aka "cookie" and the only gimmicky item I saw), apricot danish, pear danish, pain suisse, and babka.

The Reuben was perfectly grilled and rich in flavor and the fries were lightly crispy and well seasoned. The cocktails were fantastic with a good array of flavor profiles. Service was great, as well, and we were well attended to throughout. While it's not necessarily fine dining, I would definitely recommend as an excellent option for drinks or a casual meal with family or friends!

The interior is spacious and the service was great. I fell in love with the chopped not-liver ($13), which is a delicious eggplant spread that doesn't taste like eggplant but has a great savory flavor with a slight wine aroma. The pita bread that came with it was so warm, pillowy, and chewy. This dish was just perfection. There's an eggplant dip (Oren's eggplant) in the Bay that I have been craving, and now I have something in Cambridge that is just as good if not better. The haus smoked whitefish ($12) was also quite good. It had a lot of fish but wasn't too fishy, had good flavor and came with crunchy crackers. The fish and chips ($24) was tasty as well -- the chips are really crunchy and the fish was flaky and crunchy, and the sauce was interesting and spicy. Lastly, we got the halva ice cream sundae ($12), which was pretty decent with a lot of crunchy bits. I'm not a big fan of nutty flavors or milky ice cream, so I'm not sure if I'd get it again. There is a 20% gratuity automatically applied (we had 2 people, so I don't think it's due to party size). Service was great -- people kept checking on us and refilling our water. In conclusion, the eggplant chopped not-liver was amazing and it's everything I've been looking for. I'm excited to try more of their offerings.

Here's a secret: Mike's is open early too, and if you're in for a classic espresso drink you can get one there along with a little (ok, large) sweet treat to start your day. There's not much by way of seating at this location so it's more for pickup, but there is a bar at the front of the store where you can sit for a few minutes to enjoy a treat. My husband and I got a latte and a cappuccino, and a pistachio cannoli to split. Both drinks were perfect, hot but not scalded, with robust espresso flavor. The cannoli, as expected, was fantastic. Yes, it's big. Yes, the toppings are only on the ends (but you can eat it strategically to make the toppings last through most of the experience). Maybe I have too much of a sweet tooth but unlike a lot of reviewers I did not find it to be TOO sweet, just the right amount paired with a bitter coffee beverage and split between two people. I've never had a cannoli for breakfast before, but darn if it wasn't a highlight of the trip.
