We ended up with Raspberry Lemon Chiffon and it was absolutely perfect - multiple guests and vendors at our wedding came up to us to ask about the cake because it was so beautiful and tasted delicious. I also really appreciate Soul Cake's flexibility regarding the cake design. We also loved that Soul Cake makes a true red velvet cake, as most red velvet cakes nowadays are simply dyed red but aren't the authentic red velvet recipe. I got a cake made for my daughter's 1st birthday. Here are the pros and cons behind my rating: Pros:-ease of online form usage -very responsive -delicious (ordered the red velvet) Cons:-pricey -the red velvet didn't have enough frosting layer between the fondant and so the red noticeably showed all over the the surface area of the cake in random areas To me the con was pretty significant because if I am paying that much for a cake ($500ish) it should look flawless. I checked their Instagram page and my cake did not make the cut for pictures. I'm pretty sure of the reason mentioned above. The person delivering it noticed it too and blamed it on the fondant melting but it wasn't even outside. I did email them and they offered a 25% discount for a future order and were very apologetic. I would still recommend them but with the asterisk that the quality control needs to be better. read more
