First, the service was excellent. An attentive waitress helped me find a seat near a power outlet and she brought my my first beer. Understanding that I was probably not going to order food, she chcked in every so often and that was nice. The reason why I couldn't stay longer was the smoke. The casino tries hard to clean the cigarette smoke but they're not getting enough of it. After about two hours, my eyes were burning so much that I had to leave. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. The atmosphere was great. I used it as an opportunity to try some Jamaican Rum drinks. If forget the name of the first one, it was on menu (something with a "Star" in the name). It was good, but I wasn't sure if I got a good feel for the rum. Second drink was a plain Jamaican Rum Daquiri. It really showcased the rum and in hindsight, so did the first cocktail. It was good for my first experience and you could really taste the JR "funk". We'll be back, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Reservations have to be required, but it's a must do in Bloomington.
