I already reviewed the one in Las Cruces, as I've been to both, and in all honesty, I prefer the one in Las Cruces. Nothing against the bar itself or the staff, they just play newer music, as well as appeal to the younger crowd on certain days a bit more. Same rules go though, it DOES NOT pick up until after 10pm. It's very nicely kept, clean, drinks are a bit strong, but it works for the crowd they appeal to. The dance floor is pretty big, lots of room for 1 and 2 steps. They do not play many line dances, and it's primarily country music. I'm a regular at Little Bit of Texas and Ricky D's, those are also really good bars, and they encouraged me to check out this one as well. Staff is very kind. read more

Fun place- lots of dancing! Total country feel, good mix of regulars and newbees. The drinks are cheap- especially when happy hour is going on! Pay attention for their drink specials, hard to find but totally good deals (Friday night vodka rails and margaritas are $1). The dance floor gets packed, lots of fun- good mix of line dancing and two step songs- sometimes the music was a but salsa-y, people got totally into it. A bit older crowd. One of my buddies told me this place was supposed to be really fun with alot of chics who are supposlivey friendly. But seriously, as you get older, it's pretty much the same s$%t, different day. That's not to say that i didn't meet some cool girls/woman there, but there's also really crappy 21-24 year olds that hang out there who no one could have a conservation with on a intellectual level. It's just really dumb talk "what's your favorite drink, nice dress, nice shoes, i work at the mall, i shop here blah blah blah". So if your looking to hook up (sex etc.), you'll most definatley be dissappointed. However, if your looking for more, you may or may not be dissappointed (meaning if your 25+ don't expect much). Another thing is most of the woman there are hispanic which is great in my book. But if your looking for variety, there's not much (think i only saw one blonde chic entire night). In terms of the bar though, the drinks are cheap and the staff/bouncers are cool. It's also not overly crowded like alot of other places, where it's pretty much elbow to elbow. The music is obviously country to dance music, but the dance music isn't like today. You won't here Usher, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Taio Cruz etc. So if your going strictly for club music you'll be dissappointed. We don't need to talk about the bathroom. I have yet to find a club/bar where the bathroom is clean. Anyways overall the experience was enjoyable. Drinks were cheap and good, music was average, staff was excellent, entrance fee was cheap (5$) and for the most part, as long as your pretty social, you'll meet some nice girls/woman here and there. read more

I came here to see Kevin Fowler with some work buddies and had a great time. The set up in here is perfect: Full bars on 3 sides, stage on the 4th side, dance floor in the middle, cocktail tables in the back near one of the bars. It was very well planned. No matter where you were standing, you could see the stage and feel like a part of the action. And of course, you were never more than a few steps from refreshments! This place could be great, if it weren't for the people that frequent this place. The bar boasts $2 you-call-it on Thursdays which brings exactly the crowd you would expect. The line is ridiculous and they let way too many people in the doors. I would suggest to management that they increase the price of the alcohol to improve the crowd quality and reduce the number of people they need to let in to turn a profit. It would also allow for some actual breathing room on and off the dance floor. It's a much better place to be on any other night. read more

Great experience here minus the one bartender chick that needs to fix her attitude. Don't know her name nor do I care for it. But she's white, blonde curly gal. Very rude and unprofessional to me and my friends last night (December 27, 2018). She really needs to fix her attitude, also she skipped us a few times threw out the night when we were trying to get our drinks..then made a comment to one of my friends, and my friends decided to close their tabs and go to another bar because she was being a real grinch. I only had a problem when she was making snobby comments because we weren't leaving tips for her horrible service. I think it's appropriate to review this place, since the last review is over a year ago. I definitely don't think it deserves the high praise. This place has been around for a long time. I barely went last weekend. The drink specials were good, the bar just seemed really worn down and dirty. We went in and everyone looked at us like we were invading their country territory. The dance floor was incredibly small. The music was ok, but most of it was stuff we didn't know. The lady leading the line dances kept doing dances no one knew and wasn't really helping people learn. It kinda bummed us out. If you want to save your table, make sure you bring a koozie or people will throw away your drinks and steal your seats. (WHAT?!) After the drink specials ended, it wasn't really worth it to stay there and we ended up leaving early. I came here and didn't feel the Texas vibe I was looking to get. The same people were on stage going in circles and then there was an 80 year old man who was supposed to be "dancing" (looked like he was shaking off cramps in his leg). Half the songs I heard while there good, but then they started playing spanish music and I got extremely confused. I think this place is better for adults 50+. I can't believe they charge men to get in. If I were a guy I wouldn't think its worth it. There is a $10 drink minimum and that is EVERY TIME you go up to get a drink. Never heard of this before. The restrooms were filthy and the place didn't smell too pleasant. The best part was watching the same couples dance over and over again. We arrived early ( 6:00 pm) for the Eli Young concert and the concert was suppose to start at 9:00 but didn't start til 10:17!!!! We had worked the whole day and had to go to work early the next day so we could only stay about 20 minutes at the concert. We lost almost an hour and a half of the concert because they started SO LATE!!!! We each paid $25 For the concert and only got to hear 20 minutes of it!!! Will NEVER go back to this place!!!! 90% of the music they play is the old stuff and the interior needs to be remodeled....very depressing and ugly!!! The drink special are lousy and they need to play more of the NEW country!!! We found a lot nicer place with GREAT specials called Ricky D's. HORRIBLE BAR RUN BY JERKS DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY AT THIS CRAPPY BAR I went to see a concert at this bar and most of the people working there were unbelievably rude and on a zealous ego trip. It was the first time I had ever been to this bar and the LAST TIME I will ever go. BEWARE!!! There are much better bars in El Paso to hang out in. The drinks are overpriced with BAD SERVICE, it takes forever to even get a drink and the bouncers seem to really enjoy harassing their customers. Just before the main band came on stage, a bouncer came over to my friend and asked to speak to her outside. We had both had a beer and a shot and I had just come back to the table with another beer for us both. The bouncer took my friend outside and said he saw her stumble and that she was cut off for the night. A little while later he and another guy came to the table and said she had to leave, she was drunk and he was going to call the cops if she didn't leave. I tried to speak to the manager and see if there was anything I could do, especially since we had PAID to see this band but NO ONE was cooperative. This bouncer then proceeded to stalk us the rest of the night and was determined to keep my friend outside even though she was NOT drunk. I tried my best to get them to let her stay inside to at least hear the band but they just kept saying they were going to call the cops if she didn't leave. This was THE WORST experience I've ever had at a bar and we weren't even drunk! read more

Whiskey Dicks is a country chain and does solid business so this review shan't change anyone's minds. This particular establishment had a five dollar cover for men (shrug, standard) but was cash only which is kinda irritating. And I got the pleasure of both a metal detector and a nice snug pat down. Its not uncommon to have that experience at country bars but somehow Whiskey Dicks felt especially dirty in the execution. I dunno. Anyways, the layout of Whiskey dicks is very congested with a very small dance floor. They have an outdoor area if you get a little claustrophobic. Bottom line, you kinda know what your getting at Whiskey Dicks. Its a country bar on the east side of El paso. I prefer Little Bit of Texas due to its layout and more clean vibe (plus its way closer). But if your on the east side and wanting to dance this place will do the trick. Its also got some other bars within walking distance like Tipsy Tiger. read more

Whiskey Dick's used to be good around 4 years ago, then the DJ decided he'd play a bunch of music no one would dance to. Then he started playing the same songs in the same order. Very little if any George Strait. As soon as Little Bit of Texas opened it was 100% playing good old country music and some local Austin music, great! Then Wild Horse opened, I'm not crazy about the Mexican music they play but it's still 100% better than Whiskey Dicks. We decided to try about a month ago to go to Whickey Dicks since we live far east, Same thing, the DJ plays that same thing in the same order and a lot of crappy songs. In reference to an earlier review, if you want any bartender to take care of you, tip them well. You try to have a "can-do" attitude while on your feet for hours slopping drinks to drunk people. We run a tab and pay 30% as a tip. This equals minimum wait and great service. For other reviews- THIS IS A COUNTRY BAR!!!! You will hear music from other genres, but it is still a COUNTRY BAR!!! It is a bathroom in a bar. By virtue of being a bar (alcohol, drunk people=poor aim for trash cans and toilets), you should not EXPECT the bathroom to be as tidy as one would be in a fine dining establishment. If you like honky tonks, cold beer and country music...this is the place! We always have fun and the staff is always friendly. Love it! read more

This place was smaller than I had imagined. I went on a Saturday night and the drink specials were off the chain! I arrived early (7:45) because I really didn't want to stay that late. I was rather surprised to be body searched by the employee like TSA. Too funny, guys get body searched but girls do not? I guess if I ever decide to bring in a weapon I know who can hold it for me. Oh and another thing that made me laugh, if you have tits you get in for free but if you fight for this countries freedom you pay just like all the other joes. No respect for the military in this military town. They seem to forget, if the military wasn't here they wouldn't have half the business they do. Well I stayed until eleven and enjoyed the music and people were friendly. I will return for the drink specials and the entertainment provided by the body screeners. I will admit, I wasn't that comfortable being manhandled as I would have never expected this at all.
