Finally got to try this matcha place. So many variety of drinks from ceremonial matcha tea, to yuzu matcha soda and hojicha. Oh gosh. I want all. They also have some food and desserts. You can also purchase matcha or hojicha powder or loose tea. At the other end of the cafe, there's matcha bowl, whisk, etc. So cool. There's a self serve water station. You clean up after yourself. Plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating area too. Parking: street parking We ordered: The Fall special- strawberry hojicha latte w oat milk Matcha latte I believe this place mostly non dairy, not sure. The people are super nice. Definitely will come back for more

Strawberry oat matcha and hojicha oat latte

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and all the seating was full. I can see that it was a popular place. Desserts/pastries looked appetizing but I only got 2 drinks. 1) strawberry oat matcha (3/5) - pretty average overall, but I liked the fresh strawberry pieces 2) hojicha oat latte (2/5) - the oat milk overpowered the hojicha, which could've used a stronger flavor Have had much better matcha but might come back to try their soft serve. Note: I did like how they also sold matcha-related items and had simple syrup on the side for you to adjust your sweetness.

Beautiful cafe with great drinks and treats to enjoy. Lovely location in mount pleasant and perfect to spend a day going up and down the streets. They also have a nice selection of merch as well if you need to up your matcha game or need a gift on the go!

Food: While in Vancouver I was on the search for the best strawberry matcha! I think i found it here.. It was just sweet enough and I could taste both the match and strawberry.. I really enjoyed it. Service: As soon as we walked in we're greeted. Our order was taken quickly. Ambiance: The coffee shop was neat, bright and clean..

Food/drink: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 If you're looking for quality matcha in Vancouver, chances are you'll be recommended Whisk if you ask where you should go. After visiting 3 times now, unfortunately I have to disagree with this opinion. Each time I had tried the matcha it's been mediocre and the pastries (Level V bakery is attached) have been lacking quality for vegan goodies. I've tried their hot chocolate festival special, the iced strawberry matcha, and their matcha ube soft serve ice cream and don't think I'll be going back sadly. As for ambiance, the space itself is cute with some small booths for lounging/working (I recommend getting there early since they fill up quick!) and the staff has been nice each time I've gone.

love coming to whisk since I recently discovered it. this time got the black sugar iced matcha over oat milk. Cute location with a lot of matcha accessories for sale. Service is great and friendly.

I have heard about this matcha cafe for a while and eventually I could visit the cafe and had a taste of the matcha latte. The cafe was easy to find and there were plenty of parking space around the area. The cafe was cozy and there were window seats. I enjoyed a cup of matcha latte and the quality was as expected. Compared to some matcha latte I had in other places, it was well made at the right temperature. If you found undissolved matcha powder in the latte that would be not acceptable. They made matcha right and silky. The barista were nice and welcoming. It is a place worth visiting again.

Hojicha Gold Oat Latte

I ordered the Hojicha Gold Oat Latte to go - it comes to $7.83 in total with tax (price was ok, as I understand good quality matcha or hojicha would be around this price range now). Size of the cup is regular/pretty standard. The taste was just ok in my opinion. The description from the menu is "caramelly" but I don't really taste that, and it's not as strong as I expected so that was a bit disappointing. I would go back to their matcha next time (which I tried a long time ago).

Service was fast - a bit narrow inside but it's very nice! Lots of tea bowls + matcha whisk / powders, books & trinkets etc for sale in the back, all great quality items. My hojicha was not as strong as id like it was a bit milky so maybe get a double shot if you like it strong!

Kayla T.

the service was pleasant, cute spot, matcha drinks were mid - very watery, but the dessert was really good!

Whisk Matcha Cafe is a vegan friendly bakery that serves amazing drinks and treats. One of the only three places I would recommend for matcha in Vancouver, with bonus of having interesting seasonal menu and collaborations (loved their menu during the chocolate festival). There is very limited seatings available so either take away or come during slow times (they have one hour time limit). I also saw that they have a corner selling a lot of matcha accessories.

First time trying this place! It's a cute and clean cafe with lots of yummy looking treats. It was busy when we went but we got everything within 7 minutes. My friend who I went with is a matcha die-hard and she loved the hot chocolate festival drink. It's a little too bitter for my liking. The bun is good and not too sweet but nothing special.

I think it was one of those Cherry Blossom Food Festivals that brought this place to my attention…read moreabout a year or two ago. Been wanting to try it for awhile and now I finally have. We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
