I had never even heard of Whirlyball until my co-workers and I had our annual summer event at Whirlyball in Edmonds. We all had a blast. My co-workers range in age from about 24 to about 60 and everyone, I mean everyone, had fun in those crazy bumper cars! You get to just act like a kid again and all the competitiveness comes out! I highly recommend it for any group. They have decent pizza, and a great selection of beer to drink, and of course sodas. The staff was very nice and helpful, too. They do play-by-play announcing while you're playing which is pretty funny! A really fun couple of hours! read more

Whirly Ball ROCKS. A few colleagues and I decided to embark on adventure of whirly ball in an attempt to boost morale and, frankly, to get out of the office on a Friday afternoon. The staff were courteous and organized, the place was clean and accommodating, and the actual act of whirly ball was tremendously fun. This place is so much fun. I had a smile on my face and laughed the entire time I played. Some of the cars are definitely faster than others and you will figure those out right away. Whirlyball is a bit harder than it looks, but once you get the steering down it is so much fun. The arena rooms get pretty warm so dress in light close I would suggest, you do get warm. read more

Ok, why haven't you played this game yet? This is a game that you play with a scoop, a wiffle ball and wait for it! You do this is bumper cars! I suggest you bring a total of 10 or more people. It's a 5 on 5 game and it scored like basketball. It is cheap and easy to book, but I suggest reservations..... The food is good and the staff make the experience a pleasent one. They also have about 40 different types of bottled beer, so how could you not have fun, bumper cars and beer... They also have leagues for newbies, but be careful, once you start playing you will get hooked. read more

Great place for a birthday party... for 30-year-olds. I showed up a little late, so didn't get to hear all of the instructions, which meant I didn't know all the rules, or know how to drive the cars, but who cares, it was awesome! The steering is tricky, but made for lots of laughs and good pictures when people got stuck in the corner or accidentally went in the completely wrong direction. Just had a 10 year old's birthday party here. All the guests enjoyed it and they went out of their way to accommodate our food allergies and other requests. I only ever see adults there but kids love it too (as long as they are tall enough!). It ended up being not that much more than other local venues we've researched considering the entertainment value of the experience and extras included (paper supplies, balloons, pizza and cake or some combo of that), and the staff made it really made it easy for us. They kept things flowing smoothly and didn't complain even though I'm sure we ran over the time allowed (the gaming area in between the courts was great for kids waiting their turn to play, and it was hard to tear them away from it afterwards :). read more

I am very disappointed with the way this place is run. I had planned on having my boyfriend's b-day here and was told just yesterday that 1.5 hours was enough for 15 people to play if we substitute players throughout the game (each player would at least have about 45 minutes to play). Being that it would cost us at least $400 for 1.5 hours of play time, a couple of pizzas and some drinks, I decided to wait a day to make my reservation. I called today to make the reservation and the person I spoke to said that I'll have to reserve at least 2 hours. I've decided not to have the party at Whirlyball being that they are not accommodating enough. It's ridiculous how they try to squeeze every dime they can out of their customers considering how overpriced their food and play time is. $400 would be best spent elsewhere and I can guarantee that the fun would last longer than a measly 1.5 hours. read more

My friends and I randomly dropped in here during my vacation in the Pacific Northwest last week. We were attended by a generous, laid back woman who invited us to "give it a try". WhirleyBall is AMAZING fun! The entire time I could not stop smiling and laughing. It didn't matter how horrible I was at getting the ball, passing, scoring, or driving - it was all fun! This is something I wish we had here in L.A. - no matter. It's definitely something I'll do again during my next trip. If you're reading this wondering whether or not to try it, do it! AWESOME way to spend an afternoon with friends and family! In short, Whirlyball is a mix of basketball, lacrosse, and bumper cars. On the court, there are 10 players: 5 players on each team and each game lasts 10 minutes. On the outside of the two courts, there is a "practice wall" where you can practice shooting before a real game. There are also plenty of arcade games and food/drinks you can order. It's SUCH a fun sport to play, especially when all your friends are super competitive. :P The steering for the bumper cars takes some getting used to but after a couple minutes running into things and being stuck in a corner, you get used to it. If you know you want to come here with friends, no matter what size group you are going with, you should definitely make a reservation well ahead of time (at LEAST one week). Since there are only two courts, you gotta make that reservation as soon as you know when you want to go! read more

So much fun!! I arranged a work group of 10 people, which was a perfect size. It was a really fun team bonding activity even though there was a really wide range of athleticism & activity levels. Everyone seemed to have about the same level of issues with driving and shooting the ball. It really started to click once we started communicating with each other to generate a strategy. Our referee was great, did a good job calling out suggestions if people got stuck. read more

fun! went for a birthday party with about 30+ people. rented one room and had to rotate team members a little bit, but everyone got a go and had a blast. had about 8 minute matches which were long enough to feel like you got some good shots in, but not too long where you felt like you were waiting a long time for your next turn. i'm sure it's a great place for kids too, but equally as fun for adults! read more

Corporate event - had serious fun and well run by the Whirlyball staff. They are quick to swap out any bumper car with an issue. They also call the plays like a baseball game which adds to the atmosphere. Try it! read more

I had a blast. But there were some problems...my bumper car kept stalling for some reason and they had to switch bumper cars at least twice which wasted valuable time that we were paying for. Also the fact that the ball kept getting stuck in the corners. Other than those two problems played for about 2 hours and it was fun and action packed!!! read more

I've been to Whirlyball 6 times in the last 7 months. I always recommend it when our company is doing a morale event. My last visit was recently with friends on a weekend outting and although the game was still a blast the weekend staff is definitly not the staff during the week. The weekend manager is less then excited to help and the referees that seem very jazzed during the week are not quite as enthusiastic on Saturdays. This is what I have found out. Rich is the manager, I thought he was the owner because of his hustle, he is the guy that has given us our orientation during the week. He's very funny and keeps our attention even though some have heard it before. He's very genuine and I really feel he wants every customer to have an excellent time. When a car breaks (they do sometimes) he hustles right out so our time isn't wasted. Ericka and Bailey are the super refs, these girls make the game even more fun. There is an older guy there, I believe he is the owner but don't know his name. Whenhe's not making us watch his shooting lesson he's walking around talking on his blue tooth. A truly important fellow. There are some other good refs but I don't know their names. Once again, the game is awesome, young, old, short, tall, big or small or like the owner was heard saying..... "even women can compete with men at this game" Lol welcome to 2012! read more

I had a court booked at 9:00pm on July first for a birthday party I had. When I called to book the court days in advance I talked to 3 different people. I asked these three people if I could bring my minor friends an hour early at 8:00pm and play in the arcade. I was told that I COULD be in the arcade at that time but upon arriving I was told rudely by the manager that we could't be in the arcade at all. my parents were right there (we didn't want any trouble) we just wanted to play. No one else was even in the place, and the arcade was far away from from the bar. they could have given us a small area in the arcade but instead we were taken to a small, hot and stuffy, room in the back and then told to stay in there until we could start the whirlyball game. If one of my friends took one step out of the room for any reason they were immediately threatened by the staff saying that if we didn't stay in the room that he would card us and then throw us out? I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my life and I would strongly discourage anyone from going there. I was very disappointed! there was a mistake on their part and we shouldn't have had to suffer for it. read more

Went to Whirlyball for a corporate event, and let me tell you I was not very excited to play bumper cars for three hours. The boss did promise pizza and beer so I decided to go. We got there and I immediatly recognized the burnt ozone smell from the electric cars. We were greated by a guy behind the counter who was preparing some pizzas. He stopped to take us down to the practice board, showed us how to shoot and told us we would be heading out for a brief tutorial in a couple minutes. This guy was quite the joker, he took us out on the court and gave us a quick set of rules, poking a little fun and couple people (the right people to poke fun at also) and turned us loose. I got stuck playing the first game (really wanted a beer first) and let me tell you, I didn't want to quit. This game is a blast. Do not think for a minute this is a bumper car facility, it's so much more. The cars are designed specifically for whilrball so you can drive with one hand. You're playing with nine others equally challenged and it's a riot. After the first couple games we started working out some strategies, we were just like youth soccer at first, all ten of us following the bal everywhere (just like the guy said during the rules). I can't wait to go back, it will be my vote for all morale events. Another plus was the Pizza was pretty darn good and they have around thirty types of beer. If my kids weren't in sports I would consider wednesday leagues, just can't right now. read more
