Another Castle Video Games in Edmonds is one of a kind. Well, there is another store in nearby Lynnwood bearing the same name, but that's not what I mean. This is a video game store that sells retro games and is complete with an adjoining arcade. That is about as awesome as it can get. Since this place can easily suck up hours of your life, it makes an excellent spot for hanging out or even going on dates. Thankfully, there is also a bathroom so you don't have to go anywhere else. I don't live close enough to this store for it to be convenient to come here all the time, but I don't mind the occasional drive. The used video game sales function the same way that they do in the Lynnwood store; you get ten percent off used games by creating an account with them. This does require you to give them your first name, last name, and phone number. The two stores also aren't connected for some reason, so you may have to do the same thing at both stores if you shop at them both. I bought three GBA games here: Golden Sun: The Lost Age ($22.50), Wario Land 4 ($11.50), and Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire ($13.50). The rest of their video game selection is outstanding. I saw Okami and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 right next to each other in the PlayStation 2 section. That is just too much awesomeness in one little spot. I would probably give this store five stars, but they can be a little greedy with their prices. They have Final Fantasy VI Advance for $120. It's factory sealed, but that's still terribly expensive...

    Its on! Like Donkey Kong!!

They pay good money for your games. They sell all sort of vintage game stuff. They have fun coin-op games, karaoke, and drinks. Good times.

I've spent most of my high school days playing at the arcade here as well as buying some copies of retro games.

We came by on a Saturday night and there were a few people inside. However the store is very spacious so we never had to worry about bumping into others which is nice. The store is organized very well and clean, not just cluttered or throw everywhere. They have so much to look at besides just games too. They had plushies, blind boxes, vinyl soundtracks, and more. The back of the store had plenty of pinball machines, basketball machine, and other fun arcade games too. The prices are generally good as they do have a lot of older games. The employees were busy helping customers and ensuring all questions or concerns were addressed. They were very professional and patient.

Look, you are NOT going to get eBay money selling your stuff to a reseller, no matter where you go. They want to make money off your stuff, it's a business. I traded in all my stuff and got a decent offer. Could I have hustled on eBay, ran listings, then go to the post office to send stuff off, and made more money, Yes. Did I want to do that? NO. So don't expect that. okay rant over. Overall, the selection was pretty good, I did manage to get a decent trade in value and got myself a new modern console, so that was a win. I also got great customer service, they treated me nicely, and I didn't feel that bad, given what I got. Again, you can go to eBay and list things, and make more money. You don't want to list on eBay, marketplace, and just want to offload? Come here, look around, and maybe you get in-store credit instead of cash, hint... of course they are going to offer you more for in-store credit, and find something you like.

This was our first time out here, so I had no idea what to expect. It's located in a small strip mall and is easy to miss if you're not keeping a good eye out. When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised to see how nicely the games were displayed, especially the carts that don't typically come with a box. Here they make a box and store any game over $15 behind the counter with the box only on display. It made browsing a lot easier. However, it was hard to tell where you were and weren't allowed to walk. I had to ask about where the PS1 games were. Granted, there was a small sign indicating this fact, but very, very easy to miss. The selection of games for older systems was quite nice, especially those that were rarer and CIB. I also liked that you could touch the original boxes of those games. The retro consoles and handhelds were pretty nice as well. I managed to grab an Atari Lynx for my handheld collection! There were also a lot of modded consoles available that I don't know much about. However, I did see a modded Nintendo GameCube that I wanted BAD. PS1 selection wasn't that impressive--but it's all about what they get in, right? Service was okay. The guy there seemed a little aloof and tired. And it seemed a little trickier than it should have been to find the games associated with the boxes. However, I'm chalking it up to being almost closing time by the time we checked out. Some things I didn't love were that some Nintendo 64 controllers they have for sale have aftermarket cords. This isn't reflected on the packaging and aren't cheap at $45ish each. Also, while the organization of this place made for a great shopping experience, the checkout process was slow, and seemingly painstaking for the employee. There were two games he couldn't even find even though the boxes were out on the sales floor. Overall, I'd come back to shop but not super often because it's a little out of the way for us.

I think there was weekly that just ended or something else as it was a bunch of younger boys with their parents grabbing boosters and other TCG accessories. The staff members here were patient and conversing with the parents and child which I always appreciate when the kiddos are included. They were also friendly and helpful to not only us but the other customers too. They had quite a bit of different products to browse from TCGs, comics, board games and much more. The prices were fair too! They have a refrigerator with lots of different types of beverages. I also asked if they were dog friendly, which they are as long as they don't make a mess so I brought in our two fur babies who got some pets from the staff. The store is organized well as well as plenty of room to walk around. You walk in and the back of the counter is just loaded with every ETB you can think of. It makes you wonder how they got them. It's places like these that make Pokemon card collecting less enjoyable. Honestly, go support Curio in MLT. Those are good, honest people who love the fun of collecting and you'll pay only $75 for an ETB.
