These guys are thieves. Took my games in for disc repairs, never get called back, I call and ask if they are ready, the employee says "yeah, the are ready to rock, come and get them." I go down there, waste half a tank of gas, to find out that they have lost my discs and say they can do nothing about it. I'm out a Windwaker, Mario Party 4, half a tank of gas and my time wasted. Don't trust these guys. Very shady business practices. read more

Old games, an arcade, and the staff is super chill and knowledgeable. I was looking for a certain dreamcast game at Lynnwood, they didn't have it but called this location and alas they had it so I drove over and picked up some other things. I'm going to try the arcade next, it's been 20 years since I've been in one and yes I just gave away my age. read more

Love this place! Tons of classic games (NES, SNES, etc) along with the newer ones, accessories for old consoles, other collectibles, etc. Staff is the friendliest and most knowledgable of all the retro game stores I've been to. AND they have coin op arcarde games AND beer! Take my kid and his friends here all the time. read more

The correct word is unexpected... this is not your average independent gaming store. On top of the fact that they get new releases in there is also a collection of classic and imported used games... and an arcade that rivals those found at full tilt. It is a fun spot with employees who seem to know the goods... plus it is nice to hear the Dr. Mario chill theme when you game shop. read more

Has a great selection and a very knowledgeable staff. Also has an small arcade with a good selection.

Amazing! We were greeted at the door as we stepped into our childhood. The hubby and went there for 4 specific games for the Nintendo NES , Super Mario bros 1,2,3 and Mike Tyson' s punchout, Another Castle delivered all for about $50. They even have a quarter arcade, so rad :) I love 1989! read more

They have an awesome collection of old school games. I've bought several SNES games here

This is one of the best kept secrets. They appeal to kids and adults alike. They have everything from new games to the old retro games I grew up playing. And they serve beer as well as candy and soda! Their hand soap even smells good. Pretty sure it's tropical punch. read more

AMAZING selection and great knowledge of video games. I asked for a copy of parasite eve for PS1 here, and they got one 3 weeks later in great condition. Has every retro platform (and games) back to Atari read more

They had the Retron5 in stock and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with selecting SNES and Famicom games. The adjoining arcade was also kick ass. Overall a great experience. read more

I've been trying to sell my used XBOX 360 gear and games for literally years on Craigslist and Offer Up. I went to Another Castle and they gave me a fair price on my stuff, comparable to what people were offering me online. I took cash but they would've given me much more if I'd taken in-store credit. read more

My 1st review and it's for one of my favorite places in Seattle, Another Castle. It's refreshing to see a store with such a huge selection of both old and new games with very competitive prices. Friendly staff who actually know what they are talking about and a nice arcade in the store as well. The perfect place for any nerdy gamer at heart. Support 'em! read more

This place is very cool and a great place to find hard games or systems that other places don't carry. I also would rather support small business and buy from here any day! read more

Whether you're a huge gamer, or used to play back in the day and wish you never got rid of your old consoles, this is the only place to go. These guys are awesome and they have it all. Old stuff and all the new, plus an old school arcade! You kidding me?! They also repaired my old ps3 here as well. Yeah this is the only game store i deal with anymore. read more

IF YOU LOVE VIDEO GAMES THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! Open early enough to get your game on while no one is here. They have Donkey Kong,Time Crisis, Basketball, Dance Dance Revolution and all the Pinball you could imagine. Love this place. Highly recommended! read more

The folks here are super friendly, and they have all kinds of retro games, from NES to PS1 to even more modern games! Prices are reasonable 99% of the time. I absolutely love Another Castle! read more

Listen, I've been collecting games for a long time, and this is THE BEST game store in Washington, hands down. The best selection, which is well organized; the best prices, better than eBay in most cases; the best staff, always friendly never surly; and the best value on trade-ins (don't even think about going to Gamestop). Also, a very nice arcade with stuff like The Simpsons and Virtual On. It's worth a drive. Please go check them out. read more

Definitely worth the trip from downtown! They had everything I was looking for, plus some things I didn't even know I wanted. Great people to talk to about games, and the arcade is amazing. The pictures don't do this place justice. Every inch of this place is packed full of nostalgia. Hands down, this is the best oldschool video game store I've found in the Seattle area. read more

Fantastic locally owned retro video game store. Highly recommend a visit.

With many kids around this store is essential. They have a great collection of classic and new games. They are worth a look if you're a retro game player or collector or old and trying to relate to the young. read more

First I would like to say I feel sad that I have to make this review, I have been going to another castle since it first opened. They used to have fair trade value, good service and decent prices. I loved having a local retro gaming shop and supporting them. It has only been since mid year of 2016 when things changed and it is just getting worse. First trade value stopped being fair you just feel ripped off and stupid me let that go on for awhile. Trying to justify it by saying to my self "they need to make money". Not realizing that they don't care for you the gamer. Second prices, if your a collector like myself your a walking price check. You have cluttered your brain with video game prices from various sources so you know a good deal when you see one and also notice the not so good. More often than not Another Castle has failed in this department. Now I don't mind paying a little more just because you know they have overhead. It is now very likely that you are going to pay 10,20 even 50 dollars more than if you did your own research and found it through other means. I'm not talking rare opportunities where you bought it from some grandma that didn't know the price. Third service, now let me be transparent I think most of the staff are friendly and at the Lynnwood store I never had a problem but Edmonds has gotten ridiculous. I was at the store yesterday ( this whole transaction is what prompted this review it was the last straw) I literally had to wait three hours for my trade to complete. Mind you I have never had to wait that long before. In conclusion with their current practices and so many other ways to get retro games. I regret to say I can no longer recommend Another Castle. read more

Used to love this place because everyone was so personable and welcoming and knowledgeable, but not so much anymore. I really dislike the new staff, they come off as not caring and just trying to get you out of the store rather than working with you and helping you find something you're looking for. I feel incredibly uncomfortable and not welcome whenever I come in. read more

This store is great. Unlike GameStop who only deals with the newest systems, Another Castle has a bit of everything. While I appreciate that they have pre-owned PS3 and Wii games, it's even cooler being able to trade-in / purchase games for some classic / obscure systems. I traded in PSX / SNES games that were sitting around and got over $200 in credit towards some new games. Definitely recommend over the corporate chains. read more

back in 2012 my 1st gen ps3 shat the bed I was left with two choices either I go downtown for an advertised competitor with their reflow or give these somewhat locals a chance I chose the later of the two Took 'em a full 10 business days, I guess they are backed up But they assured me all repairs were in-house and my firmware would be untouched So anyway for the better part of $65 they restored it to its original glory Talked to a lady who was picking up her first gen while I was there, seems that it's an issue with several first gen consoles regardless of their use or upkeep Let's fast forward to 2013 it went out again rinse & repeat with Another Castle & out another $65 And then one more toast in 2014 made me reconsider my options so I left it downtown with the cheaper guy. He took it apart & said whoever works @ Another Castle has applied so much gunk it's going to be impossible to fix and I should just throw it away This console has less than a thousand hours of game/movie time on it so I feel the hardware was shitty to begin with and all Another Castle did was apply a band-aid on a gaping wound. I should've thrown it the first time itself and bought another with the money wasted on the 'fixes' read more

Stopped in here to buy a ton of Game Gear games. It's 3:00 on Thursday afternoon, there are 2 people working and only one "customer" who was chatting with the employees about how much GameStop sucks. I stood around for 10 minutes looking at the Game Gear case and didn't even get a "Hello", or a "How can I help you?". I walked out without even getting a "Goodbye". Too bad, I was going to buy a ton of games. At least GameStop recognizes your presence when trying to shop. read more

This place is addicting.. Great place for trading and new consoles. Awesome arcade as well!

Having moved down this past year to Lynnwood from Bellingham I was looking for a good game store. Yes, there are pretty much Gamestops on every city corner but I was looking for something local and not a big chain. Another Castle video games has a location in Lynnwood and Edmonds. I recently went into the Lynnwood branch and was looking to buy a Nintendo Wii used. Was quickly greeted by a salesman who asked what he could help me with. I told him I was looking for a Wii. He went and checked and after a few minutes came back apologizing that they were currently out of stock but he could call their Edmonds location for me. He did and luckily they were in stock! Drove there right away and was greeted by a very friendly manager who had the Wii put aside for me. He opened the box to show me the unit and said there's a 30 day money back guarantee if it doesn't work. I was delightfully surprised that the console was almost half of what Gamestop was charging! These two stores are great because they carry tons of different systems and peripherals, toys, stickers and arcade games as well. The pricing here is very reasonable and they give you good trade in for games( unlike Gamestop) I love supporting local business and I'll be doing my game shopping here from now on. read more

This is an amazing video game store, they have everything from old nintendo games to arcades. You can put your name on a list and when they receive that game they will call you to come get it. The guy that's helped me out whenever I go there is Tristan, (definitely go to him or ask for him if you need help with anything). He is very very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and knows how to treat his customers and more than anything knows his video games. The onlyy reason why I gave this place a 4star instead of 5stars is because of the attitude and the bad treatment I got from this big dude with long hair that works there. One day I went there to ask if they knew how to make my laptop play one of my old pc game and this big guy with long hair asked me what game, when I showed it to him he says "uh no!" (while looking at me like I was stupid) so I asked him really? So I cant play it? And of course again he gives me this look again and says no there's nothing we can do and looked at me up and down.. really? Just because I'm a girl and dont know a whole lot about games you're going to treat me and talk to me like I'm stupid? I got out of there right away... I wish Tristan would of been there or someone elsr that would of been more helpful. I ended up going to a computer repair shop by my house and they got my game working! I went another day with my bf and this same guy was there and we heard him yell at this old man very rudely..Yeah I will definitely go back there BUT if I see this guy I'm going to walk out, I do not appreciate his attitude and his way of treating customers.. read more

My friend told me about ANOTHER CASTLE ARCADE and i was excited knowing that it was a small buisness just trying to make another dollar vs the greedy corporation Returning my used game was not a good experience!!... i had bought my game the night before. i went back to return it simply because i didnt like the game. Mind you, this is the very next day that i tried to return the used game. I had lost my receipt and told the guy at ANOTHER CASTLE ARCADE that i didnt have my receipt and that i simply just wanted to get another game for the equal or less amount. He stated that since i didnt have my receipt, he wouldn't be able to even give me an even trade or store credit for the amount of the game. There for i was just stuck with the game or he would give me almost nearly nothing back to buy the game from me and add the credit towards another game !.... i was in disbelief. I have always supported small buisnesses to help the people grow and achieve. I felt like i was taken advantage of and felt like they didnt care on trying to make it right by simply just doing an even exchange !..... I have always shoped at GAMESTOP and now looks like i will have to continue with them unfortunately. At least i can always trade my used games at GAMESTOP for the equal amount i bought the game for if i dont like the game. ( INTEGRITY )=DOING WHATS RIGHT !!!.... wich obviously not at ANOTHER CASTLE ARCADE !!!... very bad for buisness !!! read more

Another Castle: a robotic synopsis. It is a videogame (video game? videogame...? I'll alternate) store. It has new video games. It has used videogames. It has a phenomenal selection of games, systems, peripherals and toys/accessories. It has a friendly, engaging and helpful staff. It has a very easy-to-browse layout. It has reasonable prices and a very easy 10%-off-used-games membership deal that takes literally 20 seconds to sign up for. Parking is weird, but this is a video game store, not a parking store. Duh. If you like videogames at all, this is the place to go. read more

Fixed ylod, then blu ray died sounds phishy to me but could have swapped parts, they want 100 bucks ,2 weeks afterr i just spent 100....no way to tell if they switched anything soooo yeah,,,,i cant play games on discs anymore read more

I love this place. For our anniversary my husband bought me an original NES, with Super Mario Bros 3 and Legend of Zelda. My daughter and I love to play Super Mario on Saturday's, and I love introducing her to my old favorites. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, but I did have one experience that left a taste in my mouth. I was asking if they might know the name of an old PC RPG from the late 80's. I described the game to them, and the response I received was, "Sounds like an old NES game." Ummm... Did I stutter? I said it was a PC game. I played it with a friend on his IBM. I would have been very happy with a, "That's not familiar", or "Sorry, I have no idea." Talking to me like I am stupid is not an acceptable option. Maybe my girl parts confused them and they couldn't gawk and think at the same time. Also, talking to my husband instead of me when I am the one making the purchase. For real? Honestly, it gets a little old being treated like a second class citizen in the gamer community just because I am female. Still I love the store and I have a lot of fun when I go. I just don't talk to their sales staff if I can avoid it, and instead I do my research online where I can ask questions of people who aren't confused by boobs. read more

This is the kind of place that takes waaay too long to find. All the trades I've done there fetch a respectable price and the clerks are awesome and total nerds like myself. There are knowledgeable about games in general and can answer pretty much any question, and if not will at least try. The customer service goes far above and beyond norm. For instance, because I am so anal about my games, they've let me, for a fee of course, swap damaged cases or booklets for more intact, newer ones. They have an awesome selection new and old and always have the newest releases incoming. They have the dates of release for easy reference and even let you preorder. I love that they have imports there, as I am always on the look out for a few select games. Another awesome plus is that they totally support the gaming community and have tournaments, Pokemon trading days, and tons more social events to help players get all the stuff you cant get on your own. They have an amazing selection of arcade cabinets and is totally worth going to the arcade alone. This is the place to go if you're a gamer. The end. read more

first off yes they do have a very good selection of games, but everything is way over priced. the store is super hot and right when you walk in the door a mold smell hits you and its just terrible. so my ps3 got the ylod and i searched and found many good results and decided to go here because i saw good reviews and because they were close. so the ad said that they would fix the ps3 for 50$ in like 2 days, but when i showed up down there i found out it cost 60+ and its gonna take like a week. so after then cleaning me out and waiting a week i got it back went home and tried it out and it worked just like they said. im more of a xbox person so i rarely play ps3 so 3 or 4 months go by of me maybe going on the ps3 once a week for like 30min and one morning it fried again. so after all that it was just a big waste of time read more
