I love summer in the north west with its long nights (doesn't even get dark til about 10 30 pm), beautiful sunsets and gorgeous summer weather. The Sunset Cottage makes it even better! It's right on the water overlooking Puget Sounds Useless Bay. In low tide you can even go clam digging! It's a private beach so you can build a bonfire with drift wood and enjoy the beach even at night when it can get chilly. The cottage itself is beautiful. It has one main bedroom and a smaller kids room as well as a fold out couch in the living room. The bed is super comfy with soft, high thread count sheets. There's extra Blankets and pillows in the closet if you want them. You don't need to bring anything except your clothes (bring a coat) and some food if you want to cook. The little kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans and plates and utensils. It's also really close to Langley, a quaint artist town with a cute movie theater and lots of glass blowers and restaurants and bakeries. I recommend checking it out when when you're there. About a 15 minute drive. Overall my experience was very pleasant and I can't wait to go back. 2 thumbs up from me.

Everything from start to finish with this place was just absolutely magical. The owners were in constant communication with us - email at first and then via text to answer any questions we could have possibly had. They were prompt, courteous, and worked with us to make sure that our reservation was perfect. We stayed in the cottage. Let me tell you, it was a miniature paradise for the two of us. The Cottage: The cottage is extremely cozy. There are large windows in the main area offering spectacular views of the property and the island. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've found myself in in a very long time. There is a fireplace heater in the living room, a provided space heater for the bedroom, and a very efficient wall heater for the bathroom. Our whole stay was warm and cozy. Beyond that, the kitchen is fully equipped, there's a washer/dryer in unit, a tub, shower, and plenty of extra bedding/blankets/towels/etc. The small things: Awaiting us upon our arrival was a sign welcoming us with our names on it as well as champagne glasses and sparkling cider (it was new years). Additionally there was some granola and 2 gallons of fresh water provided just in case you're not comfortable drinking/using the double filtered well water. The owners also gave us their number should we need anything extra (including additional water/etc.). They were even kind enough to leave us some handpicked flowers from Pike Place during our stay. The Island/Property: WOW! The property itself sprawls behind and in front of the cottage offering ample opportunity to explore. Beyond that, it's only a nice 30 minute walk to Maxwelton Beach which offers spectacular views. There's still a ton more to do on the island that we hope to get to next trip. However, rather than accepting responsibility, Joy claimed that I brought the ants into her home. Additionally the smoke detector was out of batteries and went off all night. When she came to the airbnb after my complains, she offered to give us traps for the ants or vinegar to resolve the issue. She also advised that the pipes were old and would likely be a problem during our stay. It really is a disgusting property. I would not trust staying at any of her properties.

I wanted to set up a romantic weekend away for my brother and his new fiancé. I wrote Joy about this idea to see if she'd work with me. Not only was Joy on board, she made the weekend even better than I'd ever hoped it would be for them. Joy was fantastic to work with in this scheme and provided the most charming lodgings for my brother & soon-to-be sister-in-law. They slept soundly, ate wonderfully, and reportedly had a marvelous time! Got in the waiting-to-board area around 10:45 am and boarded the 11 am ferry. The decision to skip Langley is right since many shops weren't open at this time and the ferry wait will only get worse when time progresses. It costs $13.30 for our car with two passengers, but I'm not sure if the number of passengers matter here or not for the price. My guess is that they charge per car. The ferry ride from Clinton to Mukilteo only takes about 20 min, and there was a broadcast to make everyone return to their car at 11:14 am. There is a cafeteria on board but it's tiny. They do have warm options like pretzels with cheese dip or clam chowder. The bathrooms on board have like 15 toilets. Pro tip: the ferry on the hour (or 5 min after) fits 144 cars whereas the other one fits 90 cars. It might help with estimating whether you can make a certain ferry or not lol.

I had a last minute RV cancellation on another service and I called NW Adventure Rentals searching…read morefor an RV I needed in less than 30 days and they pulled through for me! I couldn't easily find their address online or their website but I emailed them and received a response within a couple hours (located in Lynwood, WA). They provided the quote within minutes of a phone call I had with one of the RV owners for the 2016 Tiffin Allegro. The cost for the RV and the value of the RV was decently fair from it being 30 days out from needing it for a 3 night rental (4 days total). Although 40% of the cost were tax & fees (prep/basic protection/rental tax/sales tax). You are able to pay in two split payments with 1st being the deposit, and 2nd being 14 days away (might be different that I needed it in less than 30 days). The RV itself was awesome and very nice for 4 people and expanded in three areas (bedroom kitchen/living room). It included camping chairs, portable propane grill, dishes/utensils, pans/pots, toilet paper, paper towels, dish cloths, trash can/bags, and so much more - honestly loved that it came with so much that the cost was worth it. We didn't have to buy so many extra things at the store. We didn't use hookups at the gorge - but with the restrooms/showers/water they provide at the gorge we never ran out in the RV, it was good enough for 3 nights! Generator usage - we ran it for about a 2-4 hours a day. We did get charged for over gen usage which I was not aware they would but we were fine with the extra cost. NW does provide a "platinum package" for fuel/ cleaning/dumping/other items, they charge by square footage of the RV. You can also opt out from different services and only itemize what you couldn't do last minute. Any additional questions I had before and during renting it, they were able to answer quickly with a phone call/text which I loved! And such quick responses! Shout out to Julie who was on call and easy to text with! And Victor for going through the RV with us when we arr NW is also perfect for Gorge Amphitheatre rentals and they also provide a wide selection of RVs just for specific events at the Gorge. Overall experience as A+++++ loved everything and such a smooth experience!

To salvage our vacation we were lucky to find a company that came to our rescue. NW Adventures and could rent us a motorhome replacement last minute. They were quick to respond and Julie was a model of proficiency to help us on our way. We rented a 24FT Four Winds. It had everything we needed and a great layout. The entire staff was great, and no trick gotcha hidden fees in that fine print you don't catch. During our trip Julie was readily available for any questions we had while in the far north. While all components worked, this motorhome was built during Covid and it was clear quality and workmanship had taken a hit. Regardless, that's not anything to do with NW Adventures and they have quite a variety of equipment to choose from. I would rent from them again in an instant.
