We were here in the winter time so the gardens were dead but you could tell come springtime and summer it would be an amazing place to spend some time outdoors. The room was super nice and the cottage hosts were very friendly and nice to deal with. The only thing I would caution you on is to not barge into the area where it says Entrance. That lead you into a porch like area with a second door that leads inside to what might be the hosts residence. When we went to open the second door we were met with strong verbal cues to stop and sign the guest book. It was as if they didn't want us to enter any further. Come to find out this may have been there personal residence. The breakfast was amazing too. We had the raspberry clafouti and was super delicious. It's not something we would have ordered on our own but when we tasted it we couldn't get enough. The rooms came with almost everything you would need to include a corkscrew a couple of wine glasses a refrigerator microwave coffee etc. I would highly recommend this place. This summer was my first visit since the new ownership took over. If you've never stayed at the Inn before, you'll likely have a wonderful experience. But for returning guests, as other recent reviews have mentioned, there have been some noteworthy and disappointing changes. So this is mostly a heads-up to returning guests, or perhaps feedback the new owners will consider. First, the positives: the location is absolutely wonderful. The rooms and views can't be beat, and Langley will always be one of my favorite places to stay. The staff was pleasant and very responsive when we had a small issue with our cottage. They quickly made things right and went above and beyond what we expected. That said, I agree with other reviewers that the changes have taken away much of the charm, warmth, and welcoming feeling I loved about the Inn. It feels like the owners implemented "improvements" that may have worked in their other ventures and assumed they'd work here, too. I don't think the changes added value to the Inn and, in some instances, did the opposite. * We were sad to see the Inn no longer uses Sweet Sisters for its toiletries. Sweet Sisters is a local shop that created the Inn's signature scent years ago (forest + sea ... the BEST scent). I loved that the previous owners supported a small local business. The new products aren't bad; they're just standard boutique-hotel products. I'm curious why the new owners chose not to continue that relationship. * While every staff member I interacted with was nice, I didn't see a single familiar face. I don't know whether previous employees chose not to return or weren't given the opportunity, but it felt odd and sad not to see anyone from before. * The lobby layout has changed. It used to feel more welcoming, with complimentary snacks and items to purchase. Now the check-in desk is immediately inside, and those things are gone (snacks are now in the rooms). It's not a major issue, but it doesn't feel like "value added." We used to enjoy stopping in for a snack and chatting with whoever was working. Now there's little reason to go in after check-in. * Our biggest disappointment was breakfast. The complimentary breakfast under the previous ownership felt special and was something we looked forward to every morning. Now it feels like an afterthought. We skipped it our second day because the first was so lackluster. * The new breakfast system requires filling out a card the day before, choosing whether you'll dine in or have breakfast delivered, and selecting a time. I understand advance notice for room service, but I didn't enjoy committing to a restaurant time the night before. I go to the Inn to relax, not to worry about dropping off a card before the lobby closes and making it to breakfast at a specific time. * The breakfast itself left much to be desired. The egg dish looked cool and tasted fine, but the pastry was somewhat dry and not particularly enjoyable. We were also given a whole plain piece of fruit and half an avocado, with oil drizzled on it. I think they could have done something more special with those items, especially when much of the Inn's current advertising is about their new Michelin star chef. Compared with the previous stellar breakfast, I expected more effort. The food was fresh and nothing was bad; it just did not come close to what the previous owners provided. Again, the change decreased the value for me. * Lastly, we were disappointed by the changes to the restaurant for dinner. My mom is vegetarian and I'm pescatarian. The previous owners made sure vegetarians had their own version of every course (when asked ahead of time), and primarily served seafood, which worked well for me. The new chef, at least as stated on the website, does not accommodate dietary restrictions, and the menu is very meat-heavy. Because of that, we didn't dine there, so I can't speak to the food itself. We were disappointed that the restaurant is no longer an option for us, and we certainly don't feel we'd be welcomed there based on how it's advertised. These changes left us feeling less welcomed and made us wonder about the kind of business we were supporting. Between seeing no familiar employees, moving away from a small local business, and a dining experience that now feels less thoughtful and inclusive, the Inn has lost some of the warmth and sense of community that feels so characteristic of Langley itself. We still had a lovely stay, and I'm sure I'll return because I adore Langley and the Inn's location is hard to beat. But my expectations will be lower. I'll know I'm primarily going for the location and town, rather than the Inn itself. If prices increase, however, I likely wouldn't return because, in my opinion, these changes have decreased the value rather than added to it.

Theres a workout area and a swimming pool in the summer. The apartments are updated with new carpet and appliances. It is a good value for the price and service.

This review is by no means a slight to the staff. This apartments are ancient! Circa 1980's. Terrible carpet that is old and should never be used...EVER! You can clean it and take off your shoes everyday and it will still get dirty. MOLD IN YOUR TUB! There will be mold in the tub and or window seals. I developed very bad allergies while living there for a couple years! Endless dust and allergens. I think there may be mold under the carpet. All appliances are very old. 1980's old! The celling and floors are extra thin. You hear your neighbors every move. Terrible non insulated floors and ceilings. I had a bee problem in my bathroom! Bees somehow nested in the air vent and every time I used the restroom I had bees in my bathroom. It took at least a month to clear them out. The vent wound up falling from the ceiling and was replaced by an open vent! Luckily through me killing the bees myself and them fumigating the vent it went away! When your lease is up they charge you an extra $600 to $1000 on top of your rent to go month to month which should be illegal! Price gouging at it's worst and they will tell you that they do it to make you sign another lease and discourage month to month because you can just leave at anytime! Terrible business practice that should be ILLEGAL! The neighbors do not pick up the dog fecal matter at all! I had to neighbors with a combined 4 dogs and they never picked up the shit! Not at all! Doo doo bombs galore in the grass! Do not move there unless you are just starting off...No what? Do not move there period! Almost 2700 per month including parking for horrible conditions! No bang for you buck at all! This place is a hazard and if I have mold poisoning or skin irritations because of mold that they did not take care of I will sue! AGAIN AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE APTS THAT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED! I hope this review helped. Too expensive for dirtbag scum lord living!

I Came for an Apartment...I Ended Up Finding a Playground…read more I've only been here a week, but I honestly can't stop walking around this place thinking, "Okay...this is pretty damn cool." The first thing that hit me was the lobby. It feels like you're checking into a boutique resort instead of going home. Then I noticed something that says a lot about the people who work here. They decorate for everything. Right now it's "Hello Summer" with balloons and little touches everywhere. Nobody needs to do that in an apartment building. They do it because they care enough to make people smile for ten seconds when they walk through the door. I love that. The package room? I actually laughed. Amazon lockers, refrigerated lockers, freezer lockers...someone clearly sat down and said, "Let's make this make sense." Then there's the gym. As someone recovering from spinal fusion surgery, this one blew me away. It's not your typical apartment gym with a couple of dusty treadmills and dumbbells nobody touches. It's more like a boutique training studio, and I've already been using it every day. Then I wandered upstairs...quiet work pods if you need to get out of your apartment, a lounge with billiards, shuffleboard, places just to hang out. It's like someone designed this place for adults who still like having fun. And if you've got a dog...seriously...your dog is probably going to have a better spa day than you. But here's what really sold me. The people. Every single person I've dealt with--from the office to maintenance--has been genuinely helpful. Not the fake "customer service" helpful...actual "let's get this taken care of" helpful. They respond fast, they're friendly, and they seem to actually enjoy what they do. Jerry and Joanne were very friendly and informative hosts. They are very familiar with the island (both geographically and history) as well. I told the host that I'd really want to see bald eagle in a close distance if I may. Jerry told me all I need is to go the Double Bluff beach and pointed out exactly where I can see them. Wow!!! and yes, I do see the eagle couple in a close distance that day!! My room is beautifully decorated. A large window and very comfy chaise draw me very close to all the tall trees. From time to time, I saw plenty of birds kind of like flying next to me. Very cool. It is a forest setting room. I especially draw into all the paintings and drawings in the inn. There's a cabinet displaying some native american tools / arts as well. In room cable TV (and DVD), you have your own bathroom. The best of all, homemade delicious full breakfast (I dislike continental breakfast if I am in BnB, why do BnB if it is not for enjoying a good breakfast, right?). The location of this inn is good too, it is not sitting right in the the downtown (noisy) but just a minute away. Very convenient to go out enjoy lunch and dinner and then come back in the forest to rest. Oh, Jerry also knows about gold mining ... ask him where to find gold in the island when you visit there (wink wink!) And I forgot to add about the trails. This time I didn't do it because it rained pretty badly over the week, but for those love to explore the nature, check it out!

This bed and breakfast made our experience very special. Stayed in the garden suite and it was wonderful. Breakfast every morning was so good! The wildlife is amazing! Everyday we saw a set of deer with a mom deer and 2 twin babies, very sweet watching these animals while at breakfast. I wi) be back over and over again! I would book this plenty of time in advance because it's so wonderful they book up fast. It's worth the wait to have this fantastic experience! Pros: - New management is invested in making it a nicer place to be - Fast and polite maintenance - Tons of space - Garage - Great price for what you get - Always enough hot water - Laundry/dryer - Pet friendly - Near a lake, it was nice to go on walks - 5 min drive to Safeway, Central Market, QFC - Bus stop literally right outside - Kind, safe, kid-friendly community - Electric utility runs on 95% clean energy - Fiber internet through Ziply, super fast and reliable - Lots of light/windows, and opening them on both sides of the unit creates a nice flow of wind on hot days - Good Pho U is right across the street and has the BEST PHO AND BOBA AROUND (and I've been to Vietnam lol) Cons: - Road noise - Electric baseboard heating (was rough when we had the super cold winter) - No built-in microwave in our unit Details: We lived at Martha Lake Townhomes for 4 years, ending at the end of 2023. As of the middle of 2022, we got new management and they've been fantastic! The new landlord and staff (Arash and Justin) are fantastic and kind. They immediately started investing in the community, cleaned the exterior of the building for the first time in at least a decade, did a lot of landscaping (before the plants were growing over the sidewalks and it was hard to get around). They also added something to the external facade of the building, I dunno what it was but it looks nice and made the utility bill go down lol. Maintenance always came ASAP (usually the same or the next day) and was very kind and respectful of our privacy. We ran into banking issues while paying rent a few times and each time they accommodated us without adding late fees. They also came to see us in person to introduce themselves and to resolve issues. Their handling of the deposit was fair and transparent, and they didn't try to nickle and dime us (and we hung a projector and projector screen on the walls in there). As for the living situation, MLT is located right next to a lake, it's a beautiful area to walk around. I almost *never* heard the neighbors. We had a unit that was about 5-10 feet from the busy road outside, and we could hear road noise consistently along with the standard car doors opening/shutting and leaf blowers/lawn mower stuff. However, you get a ton of space for a very affordable price. There are kids who play in the complex so if you're a family, there's a playground and people seem comfortable letting their kids roam the complex safely. I felt comfortable going for walks alone, even the occasional night walk. All in all, probably the best place I've stayed at in the Seattle area. The only real negative is the road noise, so if that doesn't bother you, I would seriously consider this. I will miss living here. (PS. If you end up living here, do give Good Pho U a try.)

Our townhome is quite spacious and very decently priced for the area. And it has two car garage! It's nice to have that extra storage, as well as security for our vehicle. We're in a townhome on 2nd Pl W, so we don't hear much traffic from 164th. We moved from an apartment next to the freeway, so it's positively quiet compared to our last place. We love the family feeling here. There are several families on our block and our kids have made many friends already. The neighbors we've met have been friendly and inviting. We're very happy here.

Downstairs, enjoy a communal kitchen area with tea, coffee, snacks, wine glasses, a fridge with complementary juice, water, ice, fruit, and yogurts. We haven't had breakfast yet, but it is scratch made and sounds delicious. Our host, Rod, is welcoming and utterly charming. All COVID regs are being complied with!
