Sandwich was ok. I ordered the turkey and some of the lettuce inside was bad. Quick place to grab a bite.

Reba's is easy to find and quite convenient. It's a large restaurant with a very nostalgic feel…read more The place is open and lots of seating. Music is great! We grabbed a menu and sat down. I noticed it's a bit limited on burgers and sandwiches but perhaps good for the area and easy for the staff to make. We ordered and added some pies, paid in cash for the discount and left to fill our cups. The cashier and another employee had conversations amongst themselves while we were ordering and paying. Felt a bit awkward since we didn't want to interrupt their hugging and or whatever they were doing. The sweet tea stayed mostly empty but lots of unsweetened tea. We dove right into our pies first. The Almond Joy didn't taste like the candy bar as much as an amaretto coconut pie but really good! The buttermilk pie was really good too. I ordered the chicken poblano "burger". The lettuce was sadly very soggy as was the whole sandwich. Thankfully the bun was toasted because there was way too much mayo. I noticed right away that it was just bland. The chicken was thick which is great but it was bland on bland on bland. No poblano flavor. I looked for the peppers. They were grilled/sautéed and thin. Soggy sitting under the lettuce. No flavor. The fries weren't anything special but the crunch. The tea was sadly tasteless as well. I really wish there was more to say. My mom's sandwich was just sort of...there. Nothing special to talk about. I'd go again for pie and coffee alone and only if I was desperate for something to eat. There may be better places to eat in town. It's slow paced inside. Good to watch cars go by and imagine what the place looked like years ago.

(FYI, I live in San Antonio and am very tempted to take a road trip for my next yummy slice.) Then there dessert...well, located within a rocks throw of Brenham, you know what to expect, and it ain't just yummy cookies and cake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (drumroll) you guessed it...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!! Spoiler alert they failed to have my favorite daiquiri ice but you're not going to lose me over that. (Hint: just saying for future options. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm rolling down 290 East.) All good and well, the girls behind the counter were attentive and nice. And the restaurant rang of a good place to go after a go hometown Buffalo's Friday night football game. (This is Texas you know.) Thanks Reba (if there is a flesh and blood Reba out there) for expanding to your latest downtown location. LOVE IT!

The service was very good and didn't want for anything. It is an older establishment but still well maintained. They have a nice variety of choice's and a build your own salad bar. We started with the French Fried Onions, a bit too greasy for me but tasty. It is served with ranch dressing. I do not like ranch dressing so I asked for a side of BBQ sauce. We ordered the Prime Rib, which was delicious, came with a side and one trip to the salad bar. The salad bar is well stocked and fresh. I will also state the service was very nice. I have two complaints and they are connected. Earlier I stated that I asked for a side of BBQ sauce since I do not like ranch dressing. That was provided however no mention that it was at an additional charge. All you have to be upfront and say there is an additional charge for your request. I can then decide if I want that item and what the charge is. Since neither were provided, I was surprised to see it on my bill. I did not question the charge, it was just deleted from the tip. I will probably return however this is a teaching moment, if you are going to charge extra for a client's request, tell them you are and what the charge is. If not for this issue, my rating would have been higher.

I really have never gone to Dairy Queen for food only ice cream but the women I was with had certain items they enjoyed so since it was open (and many were not at this time of the evening)-we decided to drop in and grab a bite to eat. Everything was very clean. The young lady at the cash register had only been working there a very few days, but she was doing her best to do a good job which we appreciated. It was also nice to see other employees stepping in to help if she needed it. We were very scattered with our order so that made it difficult for her. Once we finished ordering, I was thinking we would sit down and they would call us for our food but within five minutes of ordering there, it was coming out of the kitchen so I had just gotten it paid for and we were taking it back to the dining area. I had a taco salad. It was small in comparison to other taco salads I've had but it contained all the essential ingredients. They forgot the salsa, but that was OK. The only issue I had with it was the bowl/taco shell tasted like stale oil. Not sure if you've ever had a hard shell with a funny taste, but that's what I would compare it to one of the ladies had three tacos and some cheese bites and she said hers was good. That was her standard go to the other lady had a crispy chicken salad with ranch dressing. She said it was very good and it looked good. All in all, I would say this was a successful trip for what we were after. We were all thinking we were starving ....Dairy Queen fit the bill.
