However, I was a bit distracted by how often he consulted his phone for accuracy, and he did take a short call during the tour. I appreciated his creative use of music to help us imagine the park's history -- it was a unique touch -- though I personally didn't want to stand still quite so long for that portion. He had also planned to show us historic photos, but unfortunately, the tablet provided by the company had a dead battery, which reflected more on the company's preparation than on Aaron himself. On the positive side, we were lucky to get a VIP-style experience since we were the only two participants on the tour. Aaron was thoughtful and kind -- he even brought and offered us a poncho since it was raining. He also went out of his way to guide us on how to use the subway afterward so we could reach our next appointment on time, and he eagerly pointed out great photo spots and offered to take pictures for everyone. Overall, I'm glad I took this tour. Aaron clearly cared about our experience and made it memorable despite a few minor hiccups. FYI: this tour does not include Strawberry Fields or the Alice in Wonderland statue.

The guy at the counter seemed quite impatient as my partner and I looked at their pricing and bike types. The form he handed me to sign said that I agreed to 3 other documents that were supposed to be attached. I asked the guy about them and he said he didn't know where they were. He asked another staff about the forms and the other guy didn't know where they were either. The guy at the counter kept looking, seemed frustrated and asked me if I was a lawyer. I felt like I had to justify wanting to see forms that I was legally agreeing to without having seen them. Eventually he found the forms. He didn't rush me to read through it. The guys at the front were busy but quickly got me a smaller bike when I said the one they prepared was too high. They also checked we had bike locks and gave us helmets after we requested them. We were out front for a bit doing that and the guy at the front gave us an extra 20 mins. The bikes were relatively easy to ride. Gears shifted as expected and brakes worked as well. The helmet and straps didn't irritate my skin. I liked that the bikes all came with a zippered pack in the front which is also where the bike lock is stored. The return process was easy. We were able to be in and out, short wait despite the amount of people at the shop. They are 3 blocks away from the park, an okay distance to the walk the bike to and from. ~6 mins each way.

I'm a single-speed city bike rider who wanted to reduce the amount I sweat during my work commute from South Philly to North Philly. The 50cc scooter I purchased is the perfect answer. While I agree with the Philly Scooters guys that I will outgrow this bike, it's the perfect introduction to city scooting. Rich was beyond helpful and extremely patient, especially during my test drive sitting in back and having a slight freak out during my first-ever ride. Sean went beyond expectation. A couple hours after leaving the store, I had a small issue with the scoot. Within minutes, Sean rode over to me, assessed and rectified the situation. Both guys kindly and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Never did I feel like I was asking something stupid or that I was wasting their time. Everyone at Philadelphia Scooters is knowledgeable, friendly and representatives of a quality business. Highly recommended.

Hot Tip #2-Ask for a bike lock! If you want to go anywhere away from your bike you will need this or risk it getting stolen. You can't keep an eye on them while you enjoy places like the castle and fountain. Quick in and quick out! Be aware that you either have to bike or walk your bike a few blocks on up to the park. Be aware of the bike lane flow direction! It is helpful if you know a little about bikes because one of our 3 bikes had the chain pop off halfway through our ride. 2 of us did not know how to get it back on (could have googled it) but luckily the 3rd knew! Easy fix and we went back to riding!
