We both had Groupons and had no problem redeeming them. It was a little bizarre that they require voucher users to call and make a reservation 24 hours in advance, since there were barely any other customers when we got in and out. Azul was very nice and understanding on the phone when we had to keep pushing our appointment back. Because I'm a 4'11" chick, I was worried about getting the 13" adult bike they have because I can barely tip-toe on them. After an hour of struggling, I went back to the shop and asked if I can swap it for one of the bigger bikes for kids, which seem to suit better for my size. Azul immediately said no and said they were for kids 10 & under. I showed her where I struggled on the adult bike and she still insisted that there's nothing she can do for me. The guy who was distributing the bikes was actually trying to be more helpful and swapped the seats, but it didn't do anything for me. Not too long after, I was so tired and annoyed from the energy spent trying to pivot my feet off the ground from tip-toeing that I gave up and just returned my bike before the 2 hours were up. I think I'll just stick with Bike New York next time.

The bike was poorly maintained and generally unpleasant to ride. But things got much worse then the cheap plastic pedal fell off half way through my ride. I couldn't screw it back on as the screw threads were completely stripped. I was able to get to a nearby bike shop, and they confirmed the bike couldn't be easily repaired and would need an entirely new crank arm. I called Unlimited Bikes, and they offered to bring me a new bike. According to the agent, they had a truck in the area, and it would take them about 30 minutes to get to me to deliver another bike. After 40 minutes I called back to get an update. The truck was about 45 minutes away. What blackhole time warp caused the truck to get 15 minutes farther over 40 minutes is a mystery. I waited another 30 minutes and called to check on the status. The truck was still 45 minutes away. At this point, I got frustrated. They said they could expedite a bike over, but there was traffic and it would take 30 minutes. I waited another 15 minutes and called to check in again. There was no truck available and no spare bikes. WTF. They suggested I get an UberXL and take an hour ride back into Manhattan. They refused to cover that cost. Needless to say, very unhappy that they wasted my entire afternoon and left me stranded. And get this - they refused to refund the cost of the bike rental!!! After fighting aggressively over the course of a week (and contesting the charge on my credit card), I finally got a refund. But wow. I highly recommend avoiding Unlimited Biking at all costs. It's not just about getting a bad bike, you could find yourself dangerously stranded or worse, injured on your ride.

After he proposed to us about what the tour is about and prices, we agreed to do it. Mainly cause I underestimated how huge Central Park is. We both never been to Central Park and wanted to see the most we could. My friend is a huge Sex and the City fan and got a guided tour of where the filming was. Our tour guide is so knowledgeable and outgoing. I loved learning from him. Once we were done, he was going to take us back to where he found us - in front of the restaurant. We talked to him in dropping us off at Fifth Avenue. He agreed only if we paid him a little extra. We didn't mind since that was our next destination. Overall, great experience. Didn't expect to do it and spend the $$ but loved it. 178/2019

Since Citi Bike is run by Lyft if you already have an account with the Lyft app you can sync your account so you don't have to bother creating anything new with the Citi Bike app. If you happen to have a Lyft Pink membership you get the first 45 minutes of your ride on a traditional bike for free every time. While I was in New York & Jersey I probably grabbed a bike about 7 times each time I was within that 45 minute window so I paid nothing. The app tells you the rate per minutes for a traditional bike and ebike, I think it's around .22 cents per minutes. When you return your rental the app will let you know the bike is actually locked and that your session has ended so you don't have to worry about any crazy charges showing up later on your account. The bikes are useful, with lots of locations so it's really easy to get around town. The only reason I'm not giving a higher review is because the e-bikes aren't the best of absorbing bumps in the road.

It is wayyyyy busier and there are a lot of little vendors that sell really cheap souvenirs (tip for tourists), drinks (cans and bottled) and ladies selling fruits. There are two lanes. One for walkers and one for bikers. It is nice to respect each other and stay on your designated side. It is free to walk the bridge and also very fun and relaxing. I recently took the walk by myself and had a great time. I chatted with some of the vendors and took in the scenery. Even though it is busy, you are still able to get a picture without so many people if you take your time. I always enter from the Brooklyn side, no specific reason why. If you are a tourist I wouldn't recommend wasting money on a "tour" unless you can't google the history yourself. Tours restrict your time. It may be better to roam for free. As for the bridge itself it's so packed. There's a lane designated for bikers are they will honk or yell at you if you're in there and will run you over if you don't move lol. They will not slow down. It's hard to get a picture on the bridge when it's busy. Everyone's taking their selfies with the lovely buildings. And people are constantly asking others if they can take pictures for them. I mean, just get your picture and get out lol. You don't have to actually walk the whole bridge. You seen it you took a picture so get out lol.
