Brunch on a Saturday is a good time in this place. Not only do they have a strong food selection, but you can't go wrong with the Bottomless Drink options. Unlike other places, they have a few bottomless options and they allow to try them all. You don't have to just drink the bottomless mimosa, but you can try the coffee drink as well. I'm mostly a wine drinker, so I didn't get the bottomless, but many in my group did. Being here as part of Bday celebration, the restaurant comped 2 bottles of champagne fir the Bday girl! That was nice! Granted, it was the same champagne they use for the Mimosas, but it tasted really good. I'll take this over a dessert any day. I landed on a Breakfast Bowl with potatoes on the bottom and then several pork meats mixed into the eggs with cheese on top. The bowl was huge! I could only get thru 1/2 of it! I was a bit underwhelmed. Starting with the cons, the restaurant was extremely loud so it was difficult for my party to hear each other talk. There was a DJ playing and that's cool but you really had to yell If you wanted to have a conversation. The food was super basic and super expensive. Normally I try to order something that is more complicated than what I normally make at home, but I couldn't find anything like that on the menu. I ordered avocado toast which ended up being very small pieces of toast topped with avocado, a hard boiled egg and everything bagel seasoning (not homemade, just the stuff you can get at the grocery store). I was still pretty hungry after my meal but I wasn't about to buy any more food because I just spent $15 on it. Pros were that the service was good and the drinks were good. I don't like orange juice so I was pretty excited that they had lots of different breakfast drink options. Drinks were reasonably priced. We had a stupendous bartender I felt sorry for continually asking him questions but he kept telling me no need to apologize and he was happy to help. Having had fried macaroni rounds before, I had high expectations. The macaroni balls were fried hard- no gooey pull, noodles were a little under done (not al dente) there was no taste. Asked if we could return the item- was told they do not take food back but offered us a drink "bomb" which also was not good. The main dish was the down south Benedict. I'm a LOT delayed as my visit was back on 04/23/2022. While I was visiting family in St Louis, I had a Wheelhouse Burger at the The Wheelhouse in downtown St Louis. The burger was pretty good. It was like sweetness with a spicy kick. I would have it again if I don't try something else if I ever am in the area again. As far as the venue itself, the bar/restaurant is a huge space. I heard it doubles as a club at night. I could tell as the music was way too loud for dining and chatting with friends and/or family. As my son described the Philly steak sandwich is delicious. The flavors are satisfying and it's very fulfilling. The ambiance in the restaurant of a Sunday Miros a bit lonely but I am not from here and I'm sure it gets busy at night. I ordered Stella Cider and instead of telling me no, they switched a keg just for me. It ended up being beer and I drank some other pear cider, but their story sounded good. Hah. The food was waaaay better than I expected. We ordered the french fries, chicken wraps (which I was concerned about because they contained peppers. I can not tolerate spicy food. Went to wheelhouse with some friends, the bouncer decided all black women in my group had to pay $20 cover and as the only white woman in the group I was pushed to other side and did not have to pay any cover, as did any of the white women after me. I've been here in the past and their food has never disappointed! For drinks, the bottomless mimosas are fairly watered, as are several of their specialty cocktails. I would steer clear of the watermelon mojito; even for a mojito it was much too tepid. I have heard good things about the spicy margarita, though. What I can say is the food and drinks were pretty good. The fried mac'n'cheese balls were mostly batter and over done, but the aioli served alongside was great. The wings' sauce was good flavor and the wings were cooked well. We also had nachos and I have to tell ya, they come out looking like Mount Everest!!! Now those are a great group app and they were yummy! Will I return? Maybe. I would like to give this place an honest shot outside of attending events here. On Sunday April 24, 2022 This was my first time coming here and having their brunch because it was for my friend's birthday brunch. The service was horrible, we had a party of of what should have been 20 people but only end up being 16 people. Everyone was not getting their drinks in a timely manner, one of the girls order a cup of a coffee and the waitress never brought and it was about 20 minutes. She went to the bar and got her coffee within 5 minutes and came back to the party. We put our food order in and the food came back too fast. Long story short, the manager and the waitress didn't want to remake my food. And the manager wanted to blame the birthday girl for the amount of people that she had at the party saying that she had reservations for 12 and ended up having more people. That is bad business and bad management. He then to proceed to tell her that he would have to teach the birthday girl on how to make a reservation. I've been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed myself. I'll admit that I'm reviewing Wheelhouse based on what it is and not what I want it to be. This a bar first with a fun chill environment where people gather to drink heavily. The food's decent, the drinks are decent, but the crowd is why you're here! Just finished getting brunch here, dining alone. I had the Rancheros Steak and Eggs. I found the taste of this dish to be kind of strange, hard to describe. To be honest the potatoes were the best part. Perhaps the most off-putting part of the experience was settling up the bill. I was presented with a bill with no itemization, just a total, and a place to add tip. I asked for the itemized bill, and was given it. On the itemized bill I saw that a 20% tip was already included. Now, pardon me, but this strikes me as a deceptive practice. I didn't see any notification on the menu or a sign or anything saying that a 20% tip was going to be automatically included. I think I may have seen a notification of that for a group of six or more, but, like I said, I was dining alone. I wonder how many people just add a tip anyway onto the bill without really thinking about it, and then they end up double-tipping without knowing it. Look, I get it that times are tough and all that but being deceptive, hiding things from your customers, is just plain wrong.
