I love how it only took 20 minutes for my comforter to wash. The dryer took roughly 42 minutes to dry my comforter. Customer service was nice, the worker was so helpful once located, I truly appreciate his help. This place was clean and had many machines available and carts plus seating area which I needed. Only con, I wish there was AC because it was super hot inside and outside. Definitely would come back on a less hot day.

Every time I've filled the suds to their recommended level, my clothes always came out soapy. Either leaves you with doing that, add less soap, or an entire extra cycle depending on how bad it gets. But honestly, in-and-out experiences in a clean joint is all I need and I can get it here.

Let's take our laundry to a wash and fold service. I, being quite tired (and equally lazy), agreed. We took it to Spring Family Laundromat, located on 16th Street in Silver Spring. My first impressions of the place were not so good. I thought the place was kind of dirty, as many laundromats seem to be (ironically enough, considering they provide cleaning services). I also noted how much more expensive the machines are than other laundromats in the area. The drop off seemed simple enough, put your clothes on the scale, fill out a ticket, and pay. Reluctantly, Jade handed over $30 for 30 lbs. of clothes to the woman who annoyingly remained on her mobile phone the entire time and didn't bother to exclude the weight of our laundry baskets. Things got interesting the next day when we came back to pick up the clothes. The same woman that was working the night before was still there talking on the phone. I did not have my ticket, so she had to look me up in her book, which she put John (my birth name) instead of my last name. Now I am not going to even try to guess how many Johns live in the DC-Silver Spring area, but I would bet my life there are more than a few. She confirmed that my laundry weighed 30 lbs. and then gave me the bags. She then asked for the $30... I had to explain to her that Jade had paid her the night before. She seemed mystified. I just picked up my clothes and walked out, vouching never to return. To her credit, the laundry is neatly folded, better than I could say if I had done it myself. The morals of the story: (1) First impressions sometimes are correct; Trust your gut. (2) Get a receipt, especially when paying in cash. (3) Keep accurate records, and remember to keep them available for when you need them. (4) Hang up the mobile once in awhile, especially when doing business. (5) If you want something done right (and cheap), do it yourself.

I chose the smallest, and still had plenty of room for more clothes. The cycle last 29 minutes. Times flies with free WiFi! You start by purchasing a card from the machine on the wall for $1.00. I thought that this was a fee for the card, but when I added money for my load I saw that my dollar spent was added to my card. There is a bill breaker machine so you don't need to add more money than you'll need. (I have $1.01 credit now) There are so many machines and they are all brand new. I work down the road, and this place was a work in progress for almost two years. It's really loud in here with blaring Latino music and screaming kids running around. You can escape next door to the Family Dollar while your clothes are in the wash, just watch the time. They also have a huge snack bar, and of course sell laundry aids.
