I have nothing but amazing things to say about this Laundromat. My washer broke and trying to get a new one is not only expensive but it would take forever to get it delivered. So in the meantime I looked up a Laundromat near me in Gaithersburg that had good reviews. Well this spot is all the hype it has gotten. Wendy showed me around and explained how each machine worked, how long the cycles were, and how to pay with the card system they have. The cards are very similar to a metro card where you can refill the money every time you need to. They have small, medium and large machines that can accommodate even the largest quilt or comforter. The dryers are all huge and hold all of your items in one machine. This facility is very clean, even the bathrooms! I give this business 7 stars and recommend anyone who needs to get their laundry done to come here. read more

It is well-maintained, but not cheap. Always clean, and if you need help or to ask a question, a staff member is available most of the time. However, there are some things that other customers may answer before you even get to an employee! Sometimes people help with the doors! I have never encountered a rude customer or a rude employee! Very clean facility with hard workers who constantly walk through and clean throughout the day. Even the bathroom we used was cleaned 3 times while we were there! The other customers were all courteous to each other & the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The only downside was that the fans kept turning off, so it would get overwhelmingly hot in there! So our washer broke for a week and we needed a laundromat. I did not know how difficult it was to find a laundromat so I was excited when I saw one not too far from where I was. First, the apparent downside is the parking. I was having a tough time finding parking near the place. I had to lug two big bags of clothing and towels and it was a tough one. Inside smelled okay, it was relatively clean, the machines look semi-shiny - not grimy at all. They have a relatively clean bathroom - cleaner than Starbucks sometimes. They have a machine to use your credit card to buy a laundromat card and pay for the machines. They have a lot of machines, but only a few larger ones. I got the largest machine because of the loads I was dealing with. It was easy to use once I got the hang of it. I was running back and forth because it kept saying I had insufficient funds. Turns out that it takes about 75 Cents to purchase the card in the first place. It all came through. There was a waiting and seating area, but I wanted to be near the machines and my clothing. There was limited seating in the middle of the room. There are well maintained carts and 4 folding stations which are well lit and well maintained. I guess I was expecting more of the scene from the movies based in New York, where the Laundromats all had glass windows everywhere and it was louder. This was more of a quiet place to just wait and wash clothes. Also, it was not very busy when I went. There were enough machines so each person could get their own row. read more

At tropix you get a reload card and not just that they reward you not only on how often you go but also for your birthday. I always favored this laundromat over all the others in Gaithersburg. When I need to launder my large items like comforters, sleeping bags etc.... This is my spot. Always super clean with plenty of excellent running washers and dryers. It's a chill spot with a few good options around also. I came in late at at 9:55 with 6 blankets and 2 heavy comforters 1 hr later I'm ready to go with clean and fully dried linens !! Belinda the attendant was so sweet and helpful! Thank goodness I read helpful reviews before I visited! I will reiterate what I learned from others. When you go to Tropix, you must get a card (similar to the Metro Card) to load with money. That is the card you insert into the washer/dryer. The kiosk to do this is in the front of the laundromat. The price of one load of mine was about $8. There are T.V.s but the language is in Spanish so bring something to keep you occupied! read more

Dryer doors are not closing and attendant is ver unprofessional this morning Thank you Dennis W for your quick response to my concern. I am at the laundromat now. It is very quiet which is probably due to your Black Friday Sale. I hate that I missed it but I don't mind being here today since it is not busy. One of my card numbers is 0127. If you look at my card's activity, you can confirm that we are regular customer. I noticed that there are four dryers out of commission today. This presented a problem last time we were here because the lady attendant was taking up dryers when there weren't enough for the customers. It was very stressful finding available dryers. I hope this is helpful and constructive criticism to keep your business running more efficiently and your customers satisfied. I dropped off a load of laundry for their "Wash and Fold" service. Drop off was super easy and the woman that assisted me was very friendly! This was my first time using a service like this and I am pleasantly surprised by how amazing it is! The environment of the place is inviting and very clean. It appeared to have plenty of machines for people to use with arcade games for when you get bored. Whether you use the machines or their other services, I highly recommend Tropix! P.S. The employees were polite and helpful. We were just driving by during a long road trip, so for us or other travelers like us, paying for a card to pay for the machines, it's just nor worth it. We needed to add a lot of $ to the dryers, the hot cycle is not really hot, and it will take a while to dry clothes. read more

Very clean place and the workers are very helpful. Whenever they see someone getting there they take the laundry carts to your car and even when exiting they help taking the cart full of clothes to the car and loading it up for you. I rarely need to use laudromat, only for blankets, so I have little experience using laudromats. Tropix is the absolutely best laudromat in Montgomery County. It is the cleanest and best run of the ones I have checked out. This AM I washed and dried 3 blankest, done conveniently and quickly. AND the best I had all the help I requested which was from choosing proper machine, to adding detergents and drying. THE BEST!!! read more

The cleanest laundry mat I have ever visited! Staff is friendly and very helpful. Large machines for washing all sorts of stuff. They even have a service in which they will wash your clothes for you. I haven't been to a laundry mat in a while so I was a little shocked by the price to wash and dry but it was worth it considering there were only a few other patrons in the place and I had my choice of machines to use. read more

They have recently installed bigger better more efficient washers and large Dryers that you can put queen size and king size comforters in and they dry extremely fast new technology is great this place seems to always update if you really like new equipment unlike other laundromat's that have the same old tired machines year. This laundromat was incredibly clean and reasonably priced. I was pleased with the option to use a credit card to first pay a $1.00 for a laundry card as well as add funds to it. The cost of using a large washing machine was $9.85 (to use hot water on a large washing machine was $10.10 for 25 minutes) and the dryers were $0.25 for every four minutes. There is staff constantly cleaning the counters, floors, and machines. I will be returning to this location in the future and would recommend to others. read more

I visited Tropix Laundromat for the second time today and was impressed. The attendant was very attentive and helpful to customers. It's conveniently located in Gaithersburg away from the traffic. There are a few restaurants close by so you can wash your clothes and order food. The McDonalds even offers Uber Eats if you want delivery. The Laundromat requires that you purchase a card. There's the option to use cash or your credit/debit card. There's an ATM onsite. They offer Launder Services if you are pressed for time. The attendant is really meticulous when washing clothes and uses gloves. The machines are kept very clean. There's multiple sizes for large or small loads. The wash prices range from $2.10 for a small load to $9.25 for a large load (blankets and coats). The dryers are $.25 for a set number of minutes and there's an option for the medium size dryer or large dryer. There's vending machines that offer laundry products, snacks and drinks. The place has TVs and games for the kid. There's even a small room for families or if you need a quiet place to work/study. It's well air conditioned and there are restrooms on the premises. The only place I do laundry! :) I love how clean this place is, and how well the laundry machines work. I also use alternative methods of doing laundry with vinegar and baking soda and the staff is very helpful with making sure my washing is done properly. They also offer a great wash/fold service. Came here to do our laundry as our dryer broke down at home. The machines take coins & cards (you have to get one of their laundry cards & add money to it). Mulu, the laundry attendant was fantastic!! She showed me how to use the machines & explained the process with the card. Very clean facility, very well lit & plenty of machines. Returned for first time in a couple of years to wash comforters. Attendant was very helpful, explained card system, and pointed out that comforters must be washed in large machines only. Fortunately the place wasn't busy mid-day, since there aren't many large washers. Drying was faster than I expected, since washers did such a good job with their spin cycles. Place was very clean, happily the TVs were off, and I will return. My only question: what is the discount that is supposedly offered Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday? read more

As an older gentleman who has not used a laundromat in fifty years, I was apprehensive about having to use one with my carload of soiled laundry.
