I have noticed how expensive cleaning services have become (e.g., $5 to have a man's dress shirt washed and pressed?) so rather than spend $24 to have someone wash and fold each item of bedding, I did it myself. Rates for machines are definitely reasonable here--$8 to wash a large load, $1.50 to dry it. The items come out feeling clean. For a DIY-er like me, however, the laundromat is limited in these ways: 1) The staff who are cleaning for other customers frequently tie up all the machines, so there's a wait. I needed the large washer and there are only two of those. 2) The space is not large enough for more than one or two DIYers. There's nowhere to sit. There are only two small flat surfaces for folding. 3) Customers dropping off their items can't find enough counter space so end up putting things on the floor right in front of the entrance/exit. Due to such a traffic jam, the elder staff member scolded me for nearly breaking the door, to which I replied that there was no space to maneuver out of the shop. 4) Of the two staff members I encountered on two recent visits, the young lady was very helpful and friendly.

My daughters teddy bear, Mrs. Jiggles was torn and dirty from all the extensive use it receives by my little girl. Desperate, I took it to Friendly Cleaners for repair and reconditioning. The next day Jiggles came back looking new as if I just bought it! I was SO impressed as was my daughter. Also, they do a good job of sewing things. They do all my daughters Girl Scout patches.
