I really wanted to rate Wheat Ridge Lanes higher, but my friends and I waited for 2.5 hours and still never got a lane. We hung out at the adjoining bar instead, enjoying delicious greasy food until our stomachs hurt. The fried pickles and mozzarella sticks were particularly notable, as well as the entertaining vintage artwork hanging on the walls. I'm guessing the key is to bowl during off hours, aka not Friday evening. Or visit when it's warmer to enjoy the fun games on the outdoor patio I totally missed. Customer service was decent - I'm sure peak times can feel quite stressful! I loved the vibe overall, just didn't expect to have to wait that long for nothing. Or park several blocks away.

Classic friggin spot. The alley has a vintage feel. Great nostalgic bowling art everywhere. The bar or the "Wheatridge Country Club" is amazing. The food is great too. Normally I order the same thing over and over at most restaurants - but I think I need to try EVERYTHING on this menu. Holy Cow. Something for everyone here. Cornhole. Shuffleboard. Cravable food. Ball Polisher. I filled up my fanny with surprises. Thank you.

I thought this place was so great! We had a party of 6, showed up at about 630 and we bowled 3 games.. we got there when there wasn't a wait so it was easy to get 1 of the 12 lanes. The whole vibe of the place was great. It was like retro, dive bar style. Lanes on one side with a bar/food. And a bar on the other side. We didn't venture into the other side but I'm sure it's cool. We had a blast bowling, they played good music, the fries were superb and the staff was super nice. It's definitely a little squished for space but hey what can you do. Can't wait to go back!

I've been here for or five times so far, always with at least one ten-year-old on hand. It's a most wonderful time capsule of the eighties, right down to the music ... but without the ashtrays, beer rot, or overwhelm of cologne and perfume. I kind of love it here. My kid and I have some sensory issues, so three games may be the limit by the time the place is hopping. It can be loud with the music and people. For regular folk, I'd say the noise level is "stimulating." That said, there's areal sweetness to the sound of a good strike. What's great, from a sensory perspective is the lack of screens or blinks lights. Just good ol' '80s brown and cream colors, with just the right lighting. The food really is excellent for a bowling alley. I've seen them making a number of things from scratch. They know what they're doing with a deep fryer. Also, because it's Colorado, the beer choices are good.

At first when you walk in, you walk right into a bar! No need to stress, just follow the sign that says "Bowling" and you'll find your way. This place took me back over 20 years! I loved it. We were originally supposed to go to Bowlero, but they were packed with reservations and thankfully found this gem instead. It's affordable and they have food if you're hungry. I didn't get to try any, but maybe next time!

I haven't bowled in such a long time, but this is definitely a place that radiates good vibes from customers and staff! I felt that we were very welcomed and the price for drinks, snacks, and games were all reasonable. This visit definitely puts me in the mood to bowl more.

On the way over, I was excited, but I left the venue feeling somewhat ripped off. Bowling has shifted from an affordable, casual pastime to a premium, entertainment-focused experience, with prices rising substantially in recent years. Firstly, the layout of the bowling alley has changed (at least at the Wheat Ridge location). Gone are the benches you might be accustomed to at each lane. Instead, there are tables near-ish the lanes, laid out in a zig-zag fashion. As you can imagine, some tables are closer to the lanes than others, and when we arrived another group was at our assigned table because it was closer to their lane. I don't fault the group at all - they just sat down close to their lane, but this system makes it problematic for people who just want to enjoy their night. The server ended up having to move two tables as a result, because... everyone was at the "wrong" tables near their respective lanes. The bench layout was much better in my opinion. No confusion. It makes little sense why they decided to get rid of those. Secondly, the service was meh. There was definitely a shortage of servers, and it took very long to receive anything that was ordered. I don't fault our sever for this. Rather, I fault management for not staffing properly. Typical corporate/PE playbook. Thirdly, playing two games cost me roughly $60 (for games + shoe rental + tax). If your birth year starts with a 1, then you probably scoffed at this amount. I certainly did. Don't even bother reserving a lane ahead of time, as it's even more expensive. It's also worth noting that the food (typical mediocre bowling alley food) and beverages are not cheap... All in all, bowling used to be inexpensive and fun. Now it's only slightly fun. Lucky Strike Entertainment is buying all the bowling alleys, slapping a new coat of paint on the buildings, and then tripling the prices. The rampant pursuit of profits over everything really makes me dislike bowling. I probably will not visit a Bowlero again in a very, very long time.

You aren't getting anything grand here so look elsewhere. I have been to this bowling alley three times in my life and the experience has roughly all been three star worthy except the last time, which I actually enjoyed a bit more but I think this location still deserves three stars. During this last time I went for a birthday party. We did the arcade and the laser tag as well which I hadn't done at Chippers before. The arcade though not as big as a full arcade obviously was actually really nice. All the games seemed up to date and in working order. Nice bowling arcade. Maybe this is coming from someone who hasn't played laser tag since they were a kid but that was a nice hidden gem for this place. Not a lot of hiding spots and the area wasn't huge but the game was fun. Nice experience. Hadn't really experienced the food before this trip but the pizza was good and the price seemed right for the bottled beer we ordered. Once again, this isn't a GREAT place but it is a good place. Not everywhere has to be 5 stars and I think in the case of a family friendly outing, 3 stars is suitable.

BOB is full of fun young professionals in their 20s-30s and I met some of my best friends this way!! This is not a serious bowling league, which makes it so much fun! The scoring is done in a way that takes away any pressure from lower scoring bowlers, like myself. Because only the top four scores from a team's best game count, teams are free to have a mix of good/avg bowlers and "bad" bowlers - no pressure! This is great because it gets me out of the house, but I don't have to be an olympic athlete, which has made me shy away from other sport leagues out there. So, a typical bowling day is like this: teams show up, get shoes, go to their lanes, order beer pitchers/cocktails, bowl for 1.5hrs, take a pic of your scores, return shoes, and head to the after-bowling lounge to hang out with all the teams and play bar games (cranium, flipcup, Cards Against Humanity!!!). Then the next wave of teams comes to the alley, repeat. BOB arranges awesome prices for everything! The price for the 6 wks of bowling can't be beat and they get us amazing specials at the alley/bar. Helpful to note: there are "BOB reps" on the ground to help teams with any issues/questions! Having the reps at the alley (in recognizable blue shirts) really makes this a well run/organized league. If there are any issues, the reps come around to tell all the teams about it and they help keep the transition period between time slots stress-free.
