We rented 2 paddle boards and it was a great experience! We had an online reservation and the employees took one of our ID's to hold onto and then got us set up with our gear. We each got a life vest + whistle and then our boards/paddle. The staff help you get on and off the boards at the launch area (which is the most challenging part of paddling for me!) As a mom of two, I rarely get time away, much less time to use my body in a new way learning something. I got lucky this past Saturday with an unexpected one-on-one SUP lesson with Captain Steve. Steve was kind, patient, understanding on top of being very knowledgeable and rooted in the sport from a young age. He was patient with me, knowing my balance is not the best it's ever been (after two kids), and needing to take occasional breaks due to my plantar facititis (read - also two kids). I had a lovely Saturday morning, and will absolutely be back. This location is particularly great for beginners because the water is calm, pretty shallow and the area is not crowded. Our family rented a canoe and double kayak (sit-on) for an hour to see how our kids would cope with a ride. It was so much fun that we went home and started researching buying a boat! We booked online the week before. This was a good idea since it's a popular place on a sunny weekend! Online booking was smooth though there were a number of waivers to sign. We also had our own life jackets for all but one adult. The one lifejacket re rented was sufficient but faded, dusty.... And well.... I was glad the person wearing it was a strong swimmer and unlikely to fall out of the boat! The staff were prompt, attentive, and supportive. They were encouraging to my son who was nervous about getting in the boat. We only had the boats booked for an hour and at $60/hr for our family, we wanted to be back in time.... This was not a problem. The water was smooth with only slight current. We saw ducks and Lily pads. One thing about this location and this time frame is that we did not get far enough to dock the boat and get out for a picnic etc. We'll probably look for a different route on a future trip. read more

They clearly explained rules and pricing. We had the equipment we needed and were able to spend a couple of fun hours on the Sammamish River. Me and my wife were wondering about a couple different kayaks to purchase. I was driving down Juanita look to my left and seen a kayak rental which is whatsup...... We pulled over on a spontaneous spur of the moment let's find out what kayak we exactly need. They offered a variety of single kayaks and double kayaks also paddle boards. Highly unreliable. They say they are open 7 days a week but every time I drove out to their locations they were closed. Anytime I call the number it just goes to an automated massage telling me about their hours and how it can change. Honestly I like to plan my days and not have to waste my time to get properly dressed and get out there just to find them closed. This has happened at least 6 times now. Each time it was a beautiful warm day. Update your phone system. Have someone actually answer the phone. Be more reliable. Your false (open 7 days a week) advertisement is frustrating. They were kind of hard to find, there is hardly any parking near their stand, we got there right when they opened at 11 on the weekend, the gals were very nice, but they gave no instruction on how to work their kayaks (guess we looked like old pros...) They included PFDs and helped us get settled into the kayak, but it was all us after we were both seated. The seats in the kayaks were insanely uncomfortable and the foot peddles were non-adjustable (mine were just broken). But the area to paddle was so beautiful! All the wildlife and water made this a great and super easy paddling trip! You can even get out on Lake Washington! The only thing that I wish I had known before we headed out was that we had gone over our time by 30 minutes and they still had us pay for an extra hour.. Maybe do the extra cost by the time out, not just round up and have people pay for another hour plus tax.. Because if we had known we would have had to pay for a full hour, we could have gotten maybe another 30 minutes in. read more

So much fun. Their hours are a little unpredictable, but when the sun's out on a weekend, it's just right. I don't have the place to store a kayak so it's nice to be able to rent one. The staff was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable. They even gave my 4 year old granddaughter her own paddle (canoe-sized) so she could feel more involved. It was nice to get out on the river and just relax. Since it's late in the season, there were no ducklings but we did find a heron in a tree. I would have like to go longer, but there's the attention-span issue. They also offer bike rental, stand-up paddleboards, and canoes. I'm certain to be back. read more

Kayaking: Starting off at Bothell, the views were great and we saw several blue herons along the way. Our nature experience was somewhat ruined by the countless houses and boats along the river which we came across after 30 minutes of kayaking. However, if you keep paddling along the river you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of log boom lake/lake Washington :) Service: Most of the staff were kind however, they could use more training. We asked what was the best Kayak for a beginner and what was the best deal and they could not give us a good answer. We were tired after paddling all 3+ miles to Log Boom/lake Washington so we paddled back to their Kenmore location and returned the boat there. This made the owner/manager upset. He would not stop telling us about how we had to pay the difference (between a one-way vs 1 hr boating. the one way is poorly advertised) and how much of a hassle it was to return our boats to the Bothell location (5 min away). We kept telling him that we had no problem paying them the extra 11$. He also told us leaving the boats here would cause a delay because they wouldn't have five boats in the Bothell location. It would've taken us another 1.5 hours to get the boat back to them if we paddled back anyway? read more

Always enjoy renting a kayak or Paddle board at Bothell Landing and the kids do a good job executing. I am giving 3 stars only because they are not enforcing masks until after check in. I can't hardly blame the young kids for not wanting to stand up to obstinate adults but we all need to know where we can safely go these days read more

If I could give zero stars I would. WARNING: This place doesn't allow dogs at all. Even service dogs. And they're hard to find. None of which is mentioned ANY WHERE on their website or at their little hut. At all. My husband, our two service dogs, and our friend went to go Stand up Paddle boarding. My husband was in the car with the dogs enjoying our AC, waiting for me to pay before they came down to the water. I signed the waiver for myself and specifically mentioned that we had our dogs with us, in the car (it was 90 degrees outside), while signing the waiver. And again I mentioned our dogs going with us as I looked at prices and then handed over my card. When we came back with our 10lb Shih-tzu dog and .5lb puppy, they THEN said we couldn't go out on the water with our dogs. Then they said we could, and then they called the owner and asked HIM and he said no. It then took over thirty five minutes for NO refund to be issued, and we had to call the owner and we were told by his workers it would take a week to get the refund. I lost my cool at this point, and in curt tones informed them that it was not okay that they took my hard earned money for services not rendered, and they rudely interrupted me sayinf I never mentioned the dogs (at which point I pointed out both instances that I mentioned the dogs) and I wanted to talk to their boss. My husband then called Steve (the owner) and spent fifteen minutes on the phone working on the refund. At the end of this phone call, where my husband was incredibly friendly and polite, he mentioned to the owner that he should post a sign saying "no dogs allowed" so people like us would know in advance and avoid the hassle. At which point, the OWNER said, "There's already too many signs up, we don't have the space for that." What?!?! There is plenty of air space to inform people verbally, there is a website, and there was plenty of space to try and sell beverages, but not to allow for three words saying, "No Dogs Allowed!!" I was finished with this place and really upset that they wasted over an hour of our time in person and extra time on the phone. I was proud of my husband for not losing his cool, as I did not keep mine in person. The long and short: Don't waste your money, gas, or time. We went kayaking yesterday and liked it so much we came back and went biking today! Great location at The Bothell Landing. Each excursion, an hour long, was under $25 for two people. We were beginners for kayaking so we did a sit-on-top 2 person kayak and it was perfect. Great activities on a gorgeous day! Staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Our team at Microsoft just had an Event at Vasa Park. I have personally rented Kayaks before at Bothell Landing and have always had a great experience with them. I knew they would bring kayaks and boards to Events, so I called them up. They were great! We ended up having to change the date of our event and they were able to accommodate. Working with them and figuring out our needs was perfect. The day of the event, Steve, Ferris and Daniel were wonderful with everyone. We had people who had never kayaked or done the SUPs before and they worked with them and were very patient. The next day we had great comments about the event and especially the kayaks and SUPs. I would definitely recommend them for your Event. And also, personally to rent at Log Boom and Bothell Landing for an hour or two of a relaxing time on the water! Thanks Steve! read more
