Something I've always wanted to try & I am sure glad we did. Due to the CrowdStrike/Microsoft software debacle, our flight from Chicago to Seattle was canceled less than 12 hours before takeoff. That made our original reservations impossible for us to make. I sent an email & Steve was very quick to respond (within 15 minutes on a Saturday night) and move our reservations to the next day (all within 25 minutes). Thank you so much, Steve! We are a family of 4 and all first-time rafters from Illinois. We ran the Skagit River of Class 2's & 3's. Eric was our guide. Carl was the guide for our partner rafting family from Georgia. Eric was awesome and made us all feel very comfortable. His knowledge & easy to follow instructions kept us all in the raft. This was a very thrilling ride for beginners with some slower floating time to just take in the pure beauty. Now my 14yo son & I have the itch to tackle some 4's & 5's - my wife & daughter said they'll pass (though they truly loved this Skagit run). If you are on the fence of going - stop thinking about it and GO! You will not regret it!!! Thanks, Eric, for a wonderful trip!!!

My group of 20 did the Skykomish trip in 3 rafts. The Owner(s) are strict, but the production is managed very well. Ultra-fun time for everyone. Stunning beauty. Professional, outstanding, safety-minded Tour Guides (Shout out to Cody!) We will definitely do this again.

We had such an amazing time! Our guides Carl and Jace were super awesome! Definitely one of the best days of my life!

Plan accordingly. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ Outdoor adventures keeps the guided groups small (maximum 12 people). I appreciate the small groups since this was my first time kayaking. Three types of kayaks are available: single, double or triple occupancy. Discover is an accepted form of payment. A Discover Pass is required to park at Spencer Spit. If you do not have a pass, a $10 day pass can be purchased with cash or check. There were several rangers checking passes on our visit so be sure to have a pass visibly displayed to avoid being ticketed. WHAT TO BRING - Signed Release of Liability - Bathing suit or non-cotton under layers preferred - A synthetic shirt (capilene, polypro, Under Armor, etc) - Shorts or pants made of a synthetic material (may get wet/damp) - Lightweight fleece jacket or windbreaker/rain jacket to provide warmth - Water shoes or sandals that strap on (or shoes that can get wet) - Sun hat and/or sunglasses - Sunscreen and chapstick - Water bottle - Optional; Camera, Plastic bag for wet items and change of clothing - If you have a gift certificate or prepaid voucher (such as Groupon) please bring a printed copy with you! Dorito Dan was our guide for the day. Dan was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The first hour is dedicated to introductions, procedures and safety. Be sure to use the restroom before departing. Once on the water, there is no turning back. Kayaking is great for teamwork and communication. Both are required to avoid frustration. I recommend wearing weight-lifting/bicycle gloves in order to prevent blisters. Each person in our group started getting blisters towards the end of the tour. During our 3 mile kayaking trip, we spotted starfish, seals and majestic bald eagles. Thank you Outdoor Adventures for providing a magnificent day of play while surrounded by gorgeous Mother Nature. We all plan to return in the near future for another go-around.

Check in was easy with complimentary lockers for keys & phones. There was a shop to purchase dry bags, shoes & your own floats. Your reservation included a mesh bag to put your trash, shoes or personal belongings in. Suggestion: Pack a large zip lock for snacks & another with sunscreen & phone. Both fit in the mesh bag with 2 bottles of water. Tip: A large sign that I was approaching the parking lot would have been helpful. Staff were so friendly and great at answering our questions, as we were new to this adventure. Quick van ride up the river & unloaded with a phone number to call if we had any issues. During the ride you'll listen to a safety presentation. Insider info: you cannot pay extra for the sun to come out or the river to be heated (we asked) We brought our own tubes & for $3 staff would fill them. The rental tubes did not have cup holders, which our friends would have liked. The rental tubes came with straps to connect the tubes. Paddles were provided for all floaters (even if you bring your own tube; you'll want one!). You can also rent a cooler! Life jackets are required & provided free of charge, to borrow. There are places to stop and get out for lunch, rope swing & log jumps. We were on the river for about 3 hours and enjoyed 3 "rapids". July 3 we could have probably floated without stopping in 90 minutes-2 hours. You get out at the parking lot. It's a bit of a walk up and across the field, to the car & tube rental return. Tip: Wear tight fitting shoes! I saw 3 flip flops/crocs floating down the river! Invest in aquasocks!!! My 10 year old said "This is a memory I'll remember forever! I can't wait to share this with my class when I go back to school!!" We bought our tubes at Walmart & they did great. I would say if you have an adventurous younger kiddo (under 7 years) consider a double tube. The friends we were with had kiddos who got a bit scared when we unhooked during the rapids. They weren't scary rapids but the kids had to figure out how to paddle and get back to the group. I have a 6 year old & would love to bring him next time. Oh, and don't leave Fall City before getting a burger & shake at Small Fryes, just across the way from the parking lot.

The owners, Barbara and Dalton were so nice and down to earth, They are true animal lovers just like we are. They have over 20 horse, 3 dogs, 2 mules and they offer it all. This isn't your 1 hour trail ride up a dirt road and back. This ride is 3 to 4 hours long, through trees, down what looks like animal trails in the woods, you criss cross through the woods and clear cuts in the Skykomish River Valley then you head up mountain to this amazing lookout and have lunch. I rode a wonderful gelding named Bernie. Bernie's a Missouri Fox Trotter and he was super sweet. Chris rode Comet, she's a Tennessee Walker. Chris said she floated. You can see for miles up on "the rock". When you look down into the valley and see just how far you have ridden, you are amazed. Dalton said it is probably 5 miles. The lunch is amazing, it's from the Sultan Bakery and it is one of the best lunches I've had. Sitting up on the rock just me, Chris, and Dalton was so relaxing. We became instant friends. Stillwater Ranch offers a variety of rides that include river rafting, fishing, moonlight rides, overnight camping and much, much more. You can ride in all seasons - We are looking forward to a winter ride when the valley is covered in snow. They are even starting a wine dinner ride - woo hoo. The next time we need an equestrian fix, we will look to Stillwater Ranch to supply it.

I opted for the cocktail class and was so impressed! First, the quality of the ingredients they shipped to me was amazing, from a spiced honey ginger syrup and special bitters blend to candied ginger and dehydrated orange garnishes. I especially liked the Holiday in Louisville, which was a twist on a Moscow mule, and the spiced old fashioned. Overall Leavenworth was well worth the trip. Expectations were exceeded! We enjoyed a beautiful snowy drive with several Christmas movies & Trivia on both ways. The bus was surprisingly filled with people who seemed to be 25+ (a perk for us late 20's) but it would still be enjoyable for kids/teens. We left the SLU around 10am and arrived by 1pm, had time to explore shops and eat two meals, then got on the bus by 6pm and arrive by 8:15pm! It even snowed during our time there which made it extra memorable. Food and drink is super reasonably priced there, compared to Seattle at least. The host was entertaining and friendly. Only knocked off one star for the in-bus bathroom - it unfortunately wasn't the cleanest as was out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer - yikes! The host did walk around with plenty of snacks, water, and hand sanitizer later. Aside from that, everything was seamless! Thanks, Sound Excursions!
