Being from California talking to the locals, they tell me, Whataburger is there equivalent to in and out. And I have to say they were right on the burger is very much comparable to In-N-Out. If not better we went through the drive-through and it took a while, but it is because her making everything fresh, the staff is very friendly in Texas. All here is yes, sir and yes ma'am very nice. What a unique Whataburger! I've never seen another one like this. Not only was it a Whataburger restaurant it was also a Hot Rod Cafe! Be sure to check out the amazing Hot Rod cars in the the middle of the dining room. The exterior glows with neon lights at night, it's a hard place to pass up when the midnight hunger hits. This Location is so filthy and disgusting! I brought my 9 year old boy for his birthday here and I ordered two sandwiches and a fries for us. My boys sandwich was overcooked, it was black, he gagged and threw it up! My sandwich was disgusting as well, it tasted like a grasshopper !!!! Never eat here. read more

If anybody knows me, I love Whataburger. My last two visits at this location have been below par. I used their drive-through and the wait time was 15 minutes. This is one of the most interesting Whataburger locations, it has a very well done vintage diner/café theme that really sets it apart from most restaurants. The dinning area is quite large and so this one would probably be a very good location for groups. I've actually had a few informal lunch business meetings at this location in the past. The food doesn't come as quite as quick perhaps some other fast food establishments, but the food also seems a little bit fresher and a little higher quality than some other establishments too, so there is perhaps a bit of balance involved. Whataburger has a large serving size in both drinks and burgers for me so I prefer to go with the med drink and Whataburger Jr, unless I'm super hungry. Overall it's a decent spot to stop in for a burger and fries, and possibly a shake too in the summer. Overall the burger was a good lunch and I liked the fresh onions on it. Definitely an option for lunch if I'm in the area. read more

I would love to give this location a 5 star review, there are some minor improvements I would make. I love the food, and every time we've came through, the food has been hot! Unfortunately, we have paid, for our food, and gotten down the road when we realized we didn't get the sauce we paid extra for. It wouldn't be a huge deal if they didn't cost more, but for almost a dollar, we want our sauce! Now I've managed a fast food restaurant so I understand mistakes and being in a rush, but you should always double check to make sure every item is in the bag before handing it out the window. I would also love to see the drive thru time lower. It's not always terribly slow, but each time we've been through we've had quite the wait. Drive thru is always long, no different this time. Decided to go inside and use the restroom and order at the counter. First there was an employee in the bathroom on his phone who quickly left without washing his hands. Then I waited at the counter for 5 mins without a single word from anyone while I could hear the works laughing and messing around in the back. I left with ever seeing or speaking to anyone. The first night on the town in Tyler. Club closes down at 12 am so where is there to go when you've been buzzing since 9? WHAT A BURGER?! Of course. This location is an "upscale" version of whataburger. You know how Denny's has a classic dinner? Well whataburger has the "Hot Rod Cafe" It's open 24 hrs a day on the inside and there is plenty of hot rod memorabilia including a whole on in the back of the place. read more

We are happy to say we moved back to Texas and can once again enjoy the yumminess that is a good Whataburger. This location is the primary one we go to when we are visiting Tyler. This location has a great 50's atmosphere complete with a classic car in the lobby. It's always cool to see what they have on display whenever we visit because they switch cars every so often to another amazingly cool classic automobile. They even have life sized mannequins of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. The staff has always been very polite and knowledgeable about the products they serve which is always a plus. In all the years we have visited this location I can not recall a single problem with any of our orders which is huge when talking about the fast food business. The food is always made hot and fresh when you order no matter what time of day you stop by. The fried pies are by far my favorite fried pies. They are perfect light and crunchy on the outside and filled with yummy filling inside. Whataburger Ketchup is by far the very best in the world in my opinion. I used to have my mom ship it to me when I lived in Washington State. Now I'm happy to report that Brookshire's on Rice Rd carries it in a full sized plastic bottle and we always buy a couple of the regular ketchup and the spicy ketchup too. If only more stores carried it because it is hard to impossible to find in the DFW area. Perhaps the best thing of all is they are always open 24 hours a day 7 days per week. They have a great lobby that is large enough to meet up with friends and family and enjoy a quick and yummy meals and deserts. This is by far my very favorite Whataburger location. They're always slow but today was especially ridiculous. I pulled up and there were two people ahead of me who had already ordered and were asked to move forward. I pay and then sit and wait. 7 minutes later the employee motions for me to move forward from the sidewalk. Another 7 minutes pass and he does it again. Now after waiting nearly 30 minutes after ordering my food I finally got it. And it was ICE COLD. They weren't even busy. I have been to this whataburger for years and it's always been pretty good considering it's just fast food. Recently I have had bad experiences going to this location. There is always a long wait no matter how busy they are, and when I do get my food it's either cold or incorrect. The service isn't the best either. Went this morning around 4:15a on 6/14/21. Hispanic lady working drive thru who can't hardly speak English had an attitude problem, rude. Didn't get hash browns nor any breakfast meats with any of our pancake order. ALWAYS messes early morning orders up!!!! Let the customer talk instead of talking over them. First off, the food was good. No doubt about that but 85%, if not more, is all about customer service. Well, I can't hear very well because the speaker was mumbling and very, very loud. My cochlear wasn't able to pick up on what the DT Employee was saying. So, I asked if I could go up to the window and she didn't want me to do that. She'd rather I'd order from the speaker because it would be quicker that way, apparently. She had to repeat so much of what she was saying which made ordering longer than usual. Eventually, we communicate everything we need to communicate so, then I go up to the window to pay. I let her know about the DT Audio speaker isn't coming out clear when you speak. She didn't really have anything to say about it. After I paid for my food, I was asked to pull up next the trash can at the end of the curb so, I did that. Two cars behind me got their food before I did. I had only ordered the Pancake Platter and the Jalapeño Cheddar Egg and Cheese biscuit but... somehow that takes longer than two separate orders that were taken AFTER I ordered my food. Finally, the food came out and it was ready. She apologized for the wait, which I thought was nice of her to say. She inserted a free apple pie for my wait. However, the apology wasn't sincere. She looked like she did not want to be at work today. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe there was something happening that I didn't know about.
